This transitional-style kitchen revels in sophistication and practicality. Michigan-made luxury inset cabinetry by Bakes & Kropp Fine Cabinetry in linen establish a posh look, while also offering ample storage space. The large center island and bar hutch, in a contrasting dark stained walnut, offer space for seating and entertaining, as well as adding creative and useful features, such as walnut pull-out serving trays. Light colored quartz countertops offer sophistication, as well as practical durability. The white lotus-design backsplash from Artistic Tile lends an understated drama, creating the perfect backdrop for the Bakes & Kropp custom range hood in walnut and stainless steel. Two-toned panels conceal the refrigerator to continue the room's polished look. This kitchen is perfectly practical luxury in every way!

This client’s house had great bones to work with, but also had a few things that made their kitchen less functional. Their main issue with the space was that their cooktop was located on the island, and since the island wasn’t very big, it limited the amount of usable counterspace. Also, they had a microwave oven stack that was housed in a massive brick enclosure that also took up a lot of valuable space. In our design, we decided to replace the cooktop and oven with a gas range and relocated it to the back wall on the L. We also move the refrigerator to the wall opposite of the sink to create the perfect working triangle. All of the cabinetry to the right of the range serves as a dry bar with lots of storage including nice display storage for wine. Originally the house had a butler’s pass between the dining room and kitchen. We decided to transform this space by closing it in on both sides and creating a nice walk-in pantry, something the kitchen did not have before! We extended their island and added space for seating on one side. The kitchen has a beautiful vaulted ceiling that we added a beam to across the center. For materials, we chose a white and grey palette with some blue and wood tones. The backsplash is a beautiful marble mosaic with blue and grey. The countertops are luna plena quartzite, and we incorporated a custom wood wrap around the hood to match the beams. We are thrilled with how we were able to help transform this kitchen into a beautiful functional space.

Island blues! We love the navy blue island and family room cabinetry in the newly remodeled kitchen and family room. The wall separating the kitchen and family room was removed creating space for a large oversized island with seating for six The shaker cabinets around the perimeter of the kitchen are painted taupe. Brass cabinet hardware and lighting are mixed expertly with stainless steel appliances. White engineered quartz countertops look beautiful and most importantly, they are extremely durable. Contemporary, fresh, & clean white redesign with generously proportioned work spaces for cooking and entertaining. This large kitchen features Calcutta gold marble, the latest stainless steel appliances and a large wine refrigerator. The 10 foot center island has seating for 4 or more. Across from the kitchen is a breakfast alcove overlooking the backyard. Three hurricane lamp style island lights provide a soft illumination with recessed task lighting.

In collaboration with Darcy Tsung Design, we took a small, cramped kitchen and created an open layout for entertaining. The owner is an accomplished chef who wanted a purpose-built kitchen to house all of her specialty items, including pullouts for a Kitchen Aid mixer, a coffee station, and cabinet inserts for knives, spices, and cutting boards. Our traditional, yet still up to date, design was influenced by the owner's antique heirloom dining table and chairs. We seamlessly incorporated that much beloved set of furniture, and gave a prominent place for the owner's colorful artwork.
