Soloway Designs Inc. is an Arizona-based architecture and interior design firm, established in 1996, serving residential clients across the USA.
Marc A Soloway, AIA, Architect and Founder, has completed over 1,100 projects ranging from multi-million-dollar custom homes, compete remodels and major additions. Architecture and Interior Design are inseparable disciplines that must coalesce to identify, create, and instantiate the anticipated mood for each space inside and outside the home. This led, in 2014, to a partnership with Esthela Celaya, ASID and the formation of Celaya|Soloway Interiors LLC, to provide a seamless collaboration with each client. Design expertise is not the only attribute this combination provides. They create a smooth and exciting experience from three-dimensional renderings through construction walk-throughs, and finally to move-in ready realization.
Custom home designs are unique to each project because we do not apply or impose previous styles to each new encounter. We blend a client’s vision with the site and the environment to make every project an original. Whether you favor Modern, Contemporary, or Mountain, or traditional styles, as in Mediterranean or Tuscan, or prefer a blend of design influences for a truly unique combination, Marc breaks new ground in architecture excellence and client satisfaction.

Marc and his team are real pros. The home styles in the Desert are very different from the Midwest where we had been living. Marc helped us understant the architectural styles that would fit our needs best. and then worked with us to iteratively design. a unique custom home that truly meets our needs and reflects our personalities.
Marc also did more than simply design a home for us. He stayed connected with us throughout the build and interior design phases of our project, helping when needed when we ran into the inevitable challenges everyone runs into when transitioning from concept to reality.
We are extremely happy with our home and highly recommend Marc and his team.

It's hard to imagine a more professional and talented architect than Marc. Having worked with other architects, I can honestly say Marc is the best. Marc is open to client input and patient with client changes and decisions and brings creative solutions to problems that arise in the design process. He is a joy to work with.

My wife and I consider ourselves fortunate, to have worked with Marc Soloway. Marc, guided us through the complete home building process. Marc helped with the lot selection and provided drone videos that enabled us to visualize our future home. He also provided videos and mock ups that helped us make decisions. Marc and his interior designer Esthela did and incredible job on our home in Grand Junction,CO. They truly designed what may be one of the most amazing homes in the area. From positioning the house on the lot to taking advantage of the amazing views and the attention to detail the home is exquisite. Marc has a very keen eye when it comes to ceiling detail and lighting and the overall flow of our home. It’s a mountain modern design so it’s modern with a warm welcoming feel, which is exactly what we were looking for. The finishes and color pallets that Esthela recommended are fantastic as well. From the kitchen design to the custom game tables and the 11 foot high floor to ceiling windows Marc was able to take advantage of every available view including the views from the laundry room.
They were a pleasure to work with and our home is absolutely incredible. You need look no further than Soloway Designs!

We just completed our fourth residence in over 40 years with four different architects. Soloway Design was by far our best experience thru design and build out. When we had our first meeting we told Marc what we were looking for in this home, he listened and followed thru with a design and layout that was awesome. Every day we get up and look out all the windows and see the water, mountains, and wild life that seem to be in all our rooms "it makes our day". The last thing I will say is that Marc Soloway office prepared the most complete and detailed house plans that I have seen in my 40 years as a General Contractor.

“We sincerely recommend Marc Soloway and the professional services that he and his company provides!" My wife and I had very unique and specific ideas for our future custom home that Marc was able to decipher and then conceptually design. During the initial discovery phase he suggested additional ideas and concepts that we did not envision yet allowed for us to incorporate them into the final design package. We were additionally challenged with complex access to our building envelope yet Marc's overall design compensated for most every circumstance along the way. When necessary Marc is always available for questions and always follows through with precise answers and descriptive details. Marc's knowledge base is extremely vast thus he always delivers a distinctive and extraordinary high-end custom home. We would truly recommend "Soloway Designs Inc" without hesitation.

Marc was introduced to my wife and I by friends that had used his firm previously on a major project and they felt he would be perfect for us. That has proven to be the case. We purchased a home in Oro Valley, Az. needing major changes and renovations in order to take full advantages of its mountain top location. In many cases the project has had more challenges than doing a new build and Marc’s vision, creativity and professional yet friendly approach has been essential to its success. Marc is a great listener while also giving his own opinions and input at the most appropriate times. It should be pointed out that we are undertaking this project from the east coast and there is no way we would be as organized or confident about its progress and outcome without the full effort of Marc’s team, all of whom have proven to be highly creative and easy to work with. If you are planning a new build or major renovation we would not hesitate to give Marc and his team our highest recommendation.

It is with Great pleasure and confidence to recommend Marc and the Soloway Design Team, I am a General Contractor for over 20 years, I would consider myself to be very skeptical and critical of Architects and Designers. From our initial phone conversations I new immediately I was talking with an exceptional Architect/ Designer and True professional. After a meet and greet and a 20 minute site visit Marc went to work, and within a couple of hours he had a Floor plan and Elevation we fell in love with. He has a Extraordinary and Creative Vision.

One has only to spend a little time reviewing the Soloway Designs Inc. website to know that Marc has a very extensive portfolio that showcases his great artistic skill and flexibility in architectural design. After we researched his online portfolio, we were able to meet with him on very short notice. Marc carefully reviewed our design considerations, and briefed us on his unique process that takes into account the site location, architectural design, and how the space is intended to be used and lived-in. Marc was able to swiftly visit our lot and begin the initial design planning. In a second stage, we were able to visit with Marc to work on real-time design iterations to lock-in a final design. Overall, we were very impressed with how slick his process was, and how quickly he was able to finalize our design. Moving our design through our HOA proved to be a challenge, but Marc’s experience with negotiating with HOA boards and architectural committees turned out to be a huge advantage, and after working closely with us on some redesigns, we were able to receive HOA approvals to build.
Marc is unlikely to be your cheapest option when selecting an architect, but “you get what you pay for”. The choice of architect is absolutely critical to any design and construction process, and is probably the last place to begin considering budget reductions. Moreover, arriving at the final design is only the first stage, because after finalizing any design, complex structural and engineering design work needs to follow. Here again is a reason not to cut corners. In fact, our builder mentioned that Marc’s engineering drawings and schematics were the best he’d ever seen in all his decades of being in the construction business. Finally, as we begin the construction phase, it has been comforting to know that Marc continues to have a strong interest in the project, providing valuable guidance to us, and solid support to our construction team.

My wife and I worked with Marc Soloway Designs Inc | Architecture to design our dream Desert Mountain home in Tucson. Our upward sloping lot required excavating into the mountain to creatively build the house to capture our spectacular Mountain and City Views. Marc seamlessly designed a picturesque floating Patio connected to the Pool some twenty feet above grade. During our first meeting, Marc suggested the houzz site platform and architectural magazines, in which we selected a series of pictures, which Marc utilized to create an initial architectural concept. After a series of design follow-up meetings, to review and settle on options and features, Marc completed the documentation phase, creating permit and construction plans, a 3D computer rendering and scaled model of the house. He also met with our homeowners association for approval. Marc was professional, accessible, and thorough in explaining options and incorporating feedback from meetings and phone calls throughout our project. I enjoy our new house and highly recommend Marc Soloway.

Marc is a talented Architect, the house he designed is a true reflection of who we are and what we strived for. Working with Soloway Designs has been a rewarding and fulfilling journey. We are also working hand in hand with Celaya Soloway Interiors. An interior design partnership that Marc has with Esthela Celaya. This partnership and collaboration insures that the whole home aesthetic is cohesive, in alignment. I can’t imagine doing it any other way. We currently live in Florida and it could not have been easier. Soloway Design is lead by a creative architect that provided not only a design that exceeded our expectation, but provided support from the initial purchase of the lot, builder selection, thru construction. This support was needed as we are not from Tucson and live over 1,ooo miles away. Soloway Design consistently delivered guidance in what was in our best interest. He was always more than willing to help in any stage of the design, he came down to visit the house site and talk over final designs of the home. We worked with Marc Soloway to design our home near Tucson. We could only describe what we were looking for in general terms and Marc listened to our input, translating it into a design with which we could not be happier. He is professional, approachable and patient in explaining why he believes certain features work best in meeting our desires, as well as explaining options. He was flexible in incorporating feedback from those discussions into our final design. We hired Marc to design our dream retirement house and what a great decision that proved to be! Marc combines 3 outstanding personal attributes to drive and produce an amazing product and level of service. 1) A very high level of technical architectural skills and construction knowledge. In addition to being a certified architect Marc also owns a home building company. The ability to marry architecture and construction knowledge was very helpful for us and our project , 2) Great interpersonal skills. Effective, affable and thoughtful listener who provides logical options with solid reasoning, 3) Internal drive to meet or exceed expectations. For us, he was always available with timely follow up and follow through.
We had high expectations going into this project for the architect and Marc exceeded those expectations by a lot. He simply was amazing and guided us through this project from start to finish and made sure the outcome was outstanding.
We would highly recommend Marc and his firm!

We retained Marc Soloway to design a modern house for us in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson. Early on, Marc offered his expertise by making an appraisal of a building lot we were considering and he was able to help us understand the potential of our site. The design process was very customer-friendly. Marc has been very responsive to questions, has been willing to spend time to help us understand building materials, options, and to work with us on special custom details of our home. He responds promptly to emails or phone calls. We love the design he developed and can't wait to move into our new home, which will be completed in Fall 2019. Marc and his team have been working with us for about a year and a half on a custom house project in the Catalina Foothills north of Tucson. It’s a challenging place to build, since the lot consists almost entirely of a steep hill on scrabbly ground. The reviewing architect, among others, said he was surprised that anybody was able to design a house that could be built on it, but Marc did. He’s been a pleasure to work with and we’ve been very impressed by his thoroughness, attention to detail, and straightforwardness. He’s always been willing to listen to, and work with, our ideas, and the designs for the house (Southwest Contemporary style, 3000+ square feet) turned out beautifully.

When we bought our retirement home in Tucson, we knew we wanted to remodel the home to make it our forever dream home. Being a Houzz user, I started looking at homes on the app. As i marked my favorite homes, they all seemed to have a similar look and feel. I looked up the architect and realized most of them were designed by Marc Soloway and that he lived in Tucson! Even though we were a couple of years away from starting the remodel, we reached out to Marc right away to explore the possibility of him designing our dream home.
Marc is down to earth, soft spoken, has his clients best interests at heart and is completely honest. Given the amount of lead time we had, we spent a lot of time with Marc describing what we wanted and he delivered way more than what we expected. He was so very patient in answering our every question, was always available to us and made us feel like we are his only client.
Given that we are using the existing footprint of the house, we thought the remodel will probably have some resemblance to the existing look and feel. Amazingly, the plan Marc came up with is one of a kind, and makes the views the star of the house. I can't imagine the home being more unique and to our style even if it were a brand new construction.
We just started our remodel and are going with Marc's entire team. We did not look at any other architect and have not felt the need to do so. We are thrilled with Marc and his team and highly recommend Marc to anyone looking to build or remodel. We can't wait for the project to complete and for us to move in and enjoy the home for the rest of our lives!!

Marc Soloway designed our new home in Redlands Mesa in Grand Junction, CO. My husband and I thought we knew what we wanted and that we could design our dream home and it would be fabulous. We didn't think we needed an architect. Fortunately, our builder suggested with meet with Marc just to see what he had to offer. It was clear to us from the start that we should use Soloway Designs. Marc was great to work with . He took our ideas for our dream home to a whole new level. The WOW factor is amazing! We never would have come up with the ideas and the house/room positioning without his professional expertise. He captured 360 degrees of views for us. We pinch ourselves everyday that this is really our house. We tell everyone that using Soloway Designs was the best investment decision we made in building our new home.

After looking at several other Architects in the Tucson area, I approached Marc to design our dream home, he was by far our best choice, he is very approachable and knowledgeable and his designs are really spectacular.
Our house is still in the process of being built, but we can tell already that it will be a great home.

My husband and I began the process of home shopping almost three years ago. As we toured pre-existing homes, we were drawn to the design elements of houses designed by Marc Soloway and his team. We could not be more delighted with the work that Marc Soloway and Soloway Designs Inc. have performed for us in the design and construction of our home in Canyon Pass. This is the second custom home we have built, and our experience building our first home was generally so positive that we were nervous that we would find that lightning would not "strike twice," and that we would find the design and construction of this house to be a less enjoyable/more difficult experience. Our concerns were compounded by the fact that we were were building this house from a significantly greater distance than when we built our first home. Not only have we been absolutely delighted with the final design of our home, and found it to be everything we wanted, but Marc and his colleagues have made certain that every step of the design, approval and construction phases of the project proceeded seamlessly. There have been no glitches for us, as owners. whatsoever; every detail of this project has been given their full attention and executed flawlessly; and I can honestly say that we have had no cause to worry about any aspect of the project. Soloway Designs does an incredible job; specifically as it relates to redesigning older homes and making them functional and modern for the needs of today. We live in a home that was originally built in the late 1960's in Tucson, Arizona. It had a mid century vibe but was lacking in function, form and modern amenities. Soloway Designs did an amazing job in not only keeping the original character of the home, but also redesigning it with simple modern elements that captured the surrounding desert landscape and downtown views. We love it!

Working with Marc and his crew to build my dream home has been a great experience all around. Before building my project, I initially contacted Marc to provide computer renderings for the set of architectural plans that I had already designed with a previous architect. After hearing his additional ideas and input, I actually decided to trash the old plans and start over with Marc, leading the design from start to finish. My job requires frequent global travel and Marc's ability to communicate around my crazy schedule made the design process fun and easy. The house that I ended up with was far beyond anything that I initially thought possible, for my budget. My experience with him designing my house plans went so well that I hired him to complete the interior design plans as well. In short, I couldn't be happier with the outcome, the house plans look amazing inside and out. I can't wait for construction to begin! Thanks Marc!

Marc designed our new home in Grand Junction, Colorado. We worried a bit about distance but Marc's way of approaching our design made the process easy and successful. Marc's way of approaching a design through his programming survey helped us focus and think through our needs and desires in a house.
Marc came to Grand Junction for three days and produced a first design that captured all of what we wanted, including the best attributes of our lot, the views. We worked through a few revisions easily with Marc. He was always available by phone and responded promptly.
Our home was completed in October of this year. It won five of the seven awards in this year's Parade of Homes, including best floor plan and best creativity and innovation.

Building a house from scratch involves making many, many decisions, some complicated, some not. Not just decisions about the things you want your house to be, but more importantly about choosing the professionals to team up with to execute your plan. Hiring Marc Soloway was my first major decision on my project, and being able to look back now having moved in to my house 6 months ago, this was certainly the best decision I made on the entire project. And I say this not only because my house is everything I had hoped it would be and think that it should be in architectural magazines, which it should, but because working with Marc is what got me to the finish line. Marc looks out for you as a client from the start of your project through completion, helping you to navigate through other difficult decisions such as choosing your contractor, evaluating contracts, hiring engineers, evaluating cost and value, etc. He also is there to work with you on your project. I truly feel that my house is a collaboration of my vision and desires, coupled with Marc's creativity and knowledge. He listens to want you want to accomplish and gives you options on what can be done, and revises until we get it right. He is not an architect that demands to have it his way, he is there to make the best outcome of your situation no matter what the restraints are, money, space, time, etc. He has personality and is truly a pleasure to work with. I gleefully endorse him to others looking for an architect, and that is the feedback I got from prior clients that used him while vetting him for my project. Look forward to working on the next project Marc!

Marc Soloway -designed my dream house in Mauritius - the house is still on paper and will shortly be rolled out. Though the Company is based in US - Marc make it simple and very convenient for this international project. Many Thanks for making it happen Marc.

Marc Soloway helped my family realize our conception of the ideal dream house. Utilizing state of the art computerized renderings of our project we were able to solidify details that have personalized our home.
"Easy to work with", Marc made this process not only "realistic" (in the planning stage) but also enjoyable.

Marc designed us an awesome guest house, perfect for our family needs! Being new to Arizona and no experience with a building project, Marc did an excellent job advising us from start to finish. We highly recommend him and are in the planning stage of a second project with him.

From my initial meeting with Marc Soloway. I was very impressed with his design of my home which is situated on a hillside in the Caribbean. Marc created a design that captured the best views from evert location which was exactly what I envisioned. Although this project is several miles away from his base he always makes himself accessible and maintains great communication throughout the process tweeting the plans so that every detail is understood and perfected.
His high level of knowledge, professional attitude and commitment to deadlines is exceptional. Marc and his team ( interior designer) has really exceeded my expections with their details and high quality and delivery of service. My project is ongoing and looking forward with great anticipation for its completion.
I would not hesitate to recommend Marc Soloway to anyone who is seeking the services of a great and fantastic architect.

We hired Marc Soloway to design our home in Colorado. From day one, he has exceeded our expectations. Marc's designs are truly brilliant. He is on the ball, easy-going and fun to hang out with. He really listens and is easy to work with. He has walked us through every step of the process and made it fun at the same time.
We flew down to Tucson to meet with Marc and tour some of his homes. He spent an entire day getting an idea of what we like as well as room sizes...and he answered our many questions, all while having a great time. In the process, we met clients who could not stop raving about what an amazing experience they had working with Marc (one couple even baked us cookies!)
When he flew up to Colorado for our design session, his initial plan was exactly what we pictured...and better than we could have ever imagined. The floor plan and exteriors are amazing and he has really captured all of our views. Our builder showed our design to several of his potential clients who now want Marc to be their architect. Working with Marc has been a pleasure and we highly recommend him.

We hired Marc to design our house. My wife wanted a Tuscany Farmhouse design similar to a picture she had and I insisted on no flat roofs. We wanted openness for entertaining and windows for lots of light. Marc helped firm up our ideas and was very open to changes as we went. Marc and crew got the plans together and pushed it threw building codes and got the building permit. House was completed nine months later.
We are very happy with the final result and highly recommend Soloway Designs.

Marc Soloway is our amazing architect. We are building a new home in Tucson. Marc has provided several different renditions of our home. Given us practical feedback and created a design that we could have never imagined. He is very creative, attentive to his clients needs and stayed within our budget. He is easy to work with, professional and creates updates and changes in a timely manner. We would highly recommend Soloway Designs to anyone building a home or making renovations.

Marc designed our new home in Canyon Pass after receiving references regarding his work from several people and after seeing some of the beautiful homes he designed. Though we were on a very limited budget he not only listened to our "wants" but his design included much more in detail than I could have ever imagined. The layout was exactly as we wanted and the use of space, and ceiling and room layouts were so much more than we could have come up with on our own. He has truly made our dream home come to life and we would highly recommend Marc and Soloway Designs to anyone.

We moved to Tucson and hired Marc to design our new home in Tucson, boy were we fortunate. This is the 4th home we designed/built and never before had we experienced such creativity and outside the box thinking. We were stretching financially for this house and gave Marc specific budget restraints but asked him to design us "the coolest house we could afford." We like modern houses and he came back with a house filled with glass, curved walls, asymmetrical angles and amazing views. Since everyone likes different styles, the best thing I can say about Marc is that he listens and creates the most with the parameters you set. His thoughtfulness with respect to views, placing the house on the lot and the little details sets him apart. We have just moved AGAIN and Marc has started designing our 5th house in Louisville, Kentucky.

My husband and I had a vision of what our dream house would look like, but no idea how to make our dream happen until we worked with Marc. Marc was able to take our vision, as we described it to him, and design the house of our dreams. Being from the mid-west, where most architecture is very traditional, we were extremely worried about designing a home so different from what we were used to, but in the end our worries were unfounded. Marc walked us through the whole process and today we are living in our dream home that has surpassed even our expectations! Thank you Marc!

Working with Soloway Designs to build a second home in Oro Valley, Az. has been a fantastic experience. Marc Soloway used a logical, comprehensive process to create a unique home design that incorporated all of elements that were important us: incorporating a open floor plan, maximizing the mountain views, creating comfortable outdoor living space, and placing our home on the lot to create a private desert retreat. He worked with us, and with our builder and interior designer, to tweak the plans so that every detail was perfect. Our home is currently under construction and Marc continues to work with our team to insure that our vision is realized.

I bought a 1.8 acre residential building site in Stone Canyon, a prestigious upscale golf community in Oro Valley, Arizona. After reviewing websites of the local architects I elected to hire Marc Soloway. I couldn't be more satisfied with my decision.
I am a commercial building general contractor in the Seattle area and have worked with many Architects in my nearly 40 years in the industry. Very few Architects have the design capabilities and ingenuity that Marc has. His experience in actually constructing what he designs (which is paramount) and ability to meet my written program while adding breathtaking design features are uncommon traits in Architects. He was involved in all aspects of the design and he's excellent at keeping the client informed during the design phases. His knowledge of the local building codes and HOA design guidlines is "top notch".
At the onset of design, Marc took a variety of pictures to establish the perfect orientation for the home. With that information he designed an un-supported rear roof overhang to maximize the lot features upon entry into the home. Remarkable!! The outside living area he designed, with a pool, fire pit and BBQ kitchen is another design addition that sets my home apart. Unique soffits, curved stack stone walls, excellent use of glass...too many features to list. During the design of my 4400 SF home we collaborated on room sizes, architectural and interior design features and mechanical and electrical systems. Marc Soloway listens.
Marc met all my expections and then some for what I considered a very reasonable fee. In closing, I would not hesitate to recommend Marc Soloway Designs to anyone needing the services of an architect/planner.

Soloway Designs and in particular, Marc Soloway, was fantastic to work with. We purchased a lot in the Stone Canyon Club and built our winter/retirement home. Marc was the Architect and did a fabulous job. He made the process very simple for us. He provided us a questionaire that resulted in a specification for what we wanted in the house. He developed numerous conceptual layouts for our consideration. Once the basic layout was established, his creative genius started pouring out on to the design. He kept us informed and engaged throughout the process. He is very professional and knowledgeable of local and housing association codes. He is a joy to work with and became a good friend. The home turned out more fabulous than we could have ever imagined.

Marc has designed a beautiful SW contemporary home for my relatives. With the building envelope so narrow and irregular he could fit a 5000+ SF house in it with capturing the most views from any corner. He is trustworthy and reliable and VERY easy to talk to. Southwest Contemporary 4300 Sq. Ft. home with guest house in Arizona.
Captured every view possible. Very effective use of development envelope. Design has nice flow and excellent functionality. Marc Soloway and his team are professional, courteous, and extremely helpful with the entire design process and beyond. This will be our "third home" designed by Marc Soloway! Our family has always considered our home a very important part of our lives...thats why it was so important to find the right architect! We fell in love with Marc many years ago- he is so down to earth, easy to talk to and really listenns to what his clients want. There are alot of architects in town but Marc in my opinion leads the pack! He has ton's of creative talent, great design team, extremely organized and excellent with follow up!! We are so excited to start this process again with Marc, our lives have changed along with our new home needs...but Marc knows exactly how to make this happen so we can build the perfect home!

Marc Soloway of Soloway Designs was very receptive and thorough in response to our initial inquiry of working with him. He exhibited genuine interest in our residential project in the Caribbean and made an enormous effort in displaying his skill and design experience. His responses to questions were pleasantly timely upon initiation of the design process.
Not only was he knowledgable in design but also in the construction industry which allowed for him to place much emphasis on designing within our budget, and thus was immensely concerned with the slightest possibility of variance.
Marc's design for our home was phenomenal and way beyond our imagination and expectations! The design process has been made a remarkable one from his down to earth persona and ability to truly listen to our needs whilst offering sound professional advise.
Would we retain his services again?
Yes! We already have for a second project.... and again for a third!

We worked with Marc to design a second home/vacation home for us in Tucson, Arizona. Above and beyond being our architect, he has been a tremendous advisor to us in all aspects of this project. Marc has maintained great communication throughout the entire process, and made suggestions along the way that were always much better than our original direction. From the beginning, Marc was fully engaged. Marc met us out on the lot, walked the property, discussed position of the home on the lot, and building up the lot to best capture views. Marc made himself available during the building process, regularly visited our job site, and even with less than one month left on the project, Marc provided recommendations and guidance.
Marc listened to us throughout the process and the end result was a full set of plans that will result in a beautiful home for our family. In addition to Marc's experience and knowledge, he has a great sense of humor and always made us feel comfortable. This was our first experience working with Marc and we would recommend him to friends and family. In fact, if we decide to do something with our primary residence (remodel or build new) we would consider using Marc despite living in a different state.

Marc is serving as the architect for our new home in Arizona. From our first interview with Marc we have been pleased with his overall design approach for the home. From initial detailed discussions, he listened to and respected our interests and desires regarding preferred design elements, turning our ideas into a beautiful design. As we fleshed out that design, he also suggested and, in some cases, appropriately pushed us to consider other elements outside our own views. He provides practical information about contractors and budgets. He has met every deadline for the project. Marc is a very talented architect with deep knowledge of the business; the additional bonus is that he is a very approachable person who listens. We would use Marc again and highly recommend him to others for consideration.

One day I came across a work designed by Marc, right here on the site of Houzz. I was looking for an idea, I was looking how to make my home in a place where dominates the peace and harmony of nature.
I needed a person who can contemplate the modernity of modern life with nature without making either of the two dominant.
The place of which I speak is located in Croatia for exactness in Istria
I had a feeling that the right man can be Marc.
I wrote an email and he answered me immediately, from then, even with the distance we worked without any problems.
Marc is an Architect who makes you a thousand questions but he knows what to do with the answers.
The best thing is when he tells you that it will be ready by that date, on that date you receive the job ready.

We meet Marc when he was a sophmore in college and began to work with him then. He designed our first house in 1998 it is an extraordinary piece of art. We worked with him again in 2001 and built our next piece of art , "The Circle House" . I believe Marc could be the next Frank lloyd Wright. From the first time we met with Marc Soloway of Soloway Designs, Inc., we were impressed with his work. Marc designed a modern desert home for us in Arizona that is more like a piece of art than a home. Marc was able to interpret our style and wish list when he worked his magic to create exactly what we had envisioned…only better. We’re in the construction phase right now and we can’t wait to see and live in the finished product. Marc not only captured the best possible view from each and every room, he adds his signature design and elements of surprise to create a masterpiece. We loved what he did so much that we have contracted with him a second time to design a summer lake house for us in Michigan. Although we’re in the early stage of design there, he is already working his magic to capture the beauty of the lake views while still providing a home that is comfortable, functional and flows beautifully from room to room. The best part is that he has been a pleasure to work with. He returns phone calls, answers e-mails and is humble. Marc exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend him. Marc Soloway designed our dream house in 2007. We still have the plans and the land, but decided to wait to build. But, we wanted to add an addition to our current house. My wife and I were referred to Marc Soloway by a friend when we were looking for an Architect to design our custom home. After spending about an hour with Marc talking to him and looking at his portfolio and we knew we were at the right place. Marc did an amazing job guiding us through the process and helping us put on paper our dream that we had in our heads. Once we started construction we had one minor problem on our plans, which wasn't bad for a 6000 square foot home and Marc quickly jumped in and corrected it. We have lived in our house for a few years now and we constantly have people ask us who designed it and we are happy to tell them that Marc at Soloway Designs did!!

We had the pleasure of engaging Soloway Designs, Inc., to design a 2,100 square foot casita adjacent to our home in the Canyon Pass neighborhood of Dove Mountain. The resulting structure matches the architecture of our home and flows smoothly throughout the property. Marc Soloway did an outstanding job of maximizing the stunning views of the wash surrounded by canyon walls from the casita. The 76 foot bridge 15 feet above the wash connects the casita to the back yard of the main house and has an observation platform, which is an excellent location to view wildlife.
We found Mr. Soloway to be professional in every way but more importantly helpful and friendly in helping us make informed choices for the details of our special space.

We met Marc several years ago and interviewed and then hired him to design several spec homes, some in Canyon Pass, in Dove Mountain of Marana Arizona and a couple in Estancia in Scottsdale, Arizona. Having been in the construction business my entire life I have worked with many architects and designers. Marc is very creative, organized, meets his commitments, but most of all a very good communicator. He listens and asks questions to make sure he understands what you are telling him. Although the Luxury Home market has slowed temendously, when we start back up again we will definately be talking with Marc again.

Marc Soloway is one of the best architects in Tucson. The home he designed for us incorporated the natural surroundings to create a home that is architecturally beautiful with stunning vistas. The final design was functional, practical, yet with all the artistic elements that make it a "Soloway" home. Marc was great to work with. He met all timetables and budgets, while bringing forth new ideas that increased the value of the project well beyond the fee he charged.

Soloway design was contracted to design our house based on our wants and desires.. They did a wonderful job in all aspects of design. The company is very Tech Savy so Communication is always available. If we ever build another house, Soloway design will be designing it.

My wife and I are extremely happy with the house Marc Soloway designed for us. Marc worked extensively with us to make sure that he designed a house that met our needs and objectives. Marc was then able to add elements that make our home unique and interesting both inside and out. Not only did the design meet our vision – our builder was able follow the design without having to make alterations to make it actually work in practice.
The views of the Catalina and Tucson Mountains have been captured beautifully. It can be difficult to decide what aspects to explore and enjoy in the house - the curves, angles and dimension of the rooms, the use of unique building materials such as C-beams on the outside of the house or just sit back and take in the views of the mountains, desert and city.
It is not often that I can say the results have exceeded our expectations –but in the case of our home – that is definitely the case. We highly recommend Marc Soloway if you want a home that is functional, interesting and exciting to live in.

Marc and his staff have been exemplary to work with. I wanted a house that was slightly different than many they had designed and it is turning out beautifully. Stone Canyon is a difficult area to build in due to the boulder site and the building restrictions but Marc worked professionally and quickly with all concerned including my builder, Todd Wilson of Wilson Builders, to meet the deadlines I really wanted. This makes a huge difference in the quality of the project and the timeline.
I would recommend Soloway Design to anyone wanting a first class architect.

Marc's designs are beautiful and creative, but practical at the same time. His work results in beautiful lines that are beautiful from outside viewing as well as from inside the home. When we bought our lot in Tucson, we had no idea of the style of home we wanted and had no prior experience with southwestern home design. Soloway Design was recommended by our builder because "they listen".
This turned out to be absolutely true. Marc Soloway began with us at the "beginning" through multiple phone conferences....(we live outside of Philadelphia). Also, we had never built a custom home. He asked about our dogs, our hobbies, our love of cooking, our family and their likely visits, and a host of other factors that turned out to be important in the final design.
When it came time to put a name on our design, it was such a combination of styles that met our every criteria that we called it "Southwestern Soloway"! We couldn't be happier!!!

It was our distinct pleasure to work with Marc Soloway in the design of our new home. Marc was introduced to us by a real estate agent who had used him previously. We met Marc at a lot we were considering and discussed our overall desires. Based on this, Marc created a concept and vision for our project that told us he absolutely “got us”. Marc referred to the ultimate design as a “Soft-Contemporary Southwestern”.
Marc is incredibly well-organized, soft-spoken and customer-oriented. He was always timely with his response to our questions and issues. He is naturally even-tempered and a good natured individual. His honesty and integrity is above reproach.
His design work reflected our likes and wants, as opposed to his. Marc assisted us in a bidding process between three builders whom we selected with Marc’s help. The plans that he and his team put together were thorough and accurate. We are currently several months into the construction project, and the Soloway team continues to be involved, interested and helpful.
We would hire Marc Soloway again in a heartbeat.

We hired Marc as our architect to design our home in Tucson. We could not be happier with his work and partnership with us. Marc is a fabulous architect with great ideas. One of the things that sets him apart is that HE LISTENS. He does not have "an attitude". He works really well with our builder and designer, and together they make a great team. He really wants your home to be your home, and spends a lot of time getting to know your style, what you would like etc. Nothing will be cookie cutter, as he ensures your home will optimize your lot, your views, etc. He incorporated some unusual designs for our pool, outdoor kitchen and overall flow of the house. One of his "trademarks" is the remarkable ceiling designs he incorporates in the house. They add a level of dimension that really highlights your design. His level of detail is fabulous. He has been really easy to work with, has a great sense of humor and is a great person. We totally trust his judgement and would highly recommend Marc for your next project!

After talking with a number of different architects in the Tucson area, viewing open houses where the name of the architect was listed in the house description, and getting recommendations from realtors who were familiar with the top architects in the Tucson area, we chose to let Marc Soloway design our house. Since there were a number of different lots we were considering, we asked Marc to give us his impression of them and he willingly spent a considerable amount of time walking the lots with us and identifying the ones that he felt were best and all before receiving any money or a signed contract from us. Once a lot was selected and purchased, his methodical approach to designing a house plan worked very well and in the end, we ended up with a design that was exactly what we were looking for and within the budget we had stipulated. Further, Marc's creativity and ability to incorporate interesting, attractive architectural features into both the interior and exterior of the home are already garnering praise from neighbors even though the house is only partially completed. Without question, the entire process was much easier, and enjoyable, because of Marc's personality and willingness to make modifications as issues arose. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marc Soloway to someone looking for an architect.

We hired Soloway Designs, Inc. to design a home for us in 2005. Worked with Marc Soloway for over a year to make our design the perfect one for us. Coming from the Midwest, we questioned several aspects of the design that Marc suggested. Thank God we listened to him because living in the Southwest is completely different from living in the Midwest and his suggestions turned out to be very important. After a year building process, we moved into our home in 2008. Since the day we moved in, we wake up every morning and Thank God (and Marc Solloway) for the beautiful home that we live in.
Marc was exceptionally educated on what designs work in the Southwest, expecially with our extreme weather conditions. He was professional and was always on time at our numerous meetings. He introduced so many new ideas and concepts and is truly a genius at architectural design. He was delightful to work with and we have maintained a friendship ever since. I think you will find that anyone who has ever worked with Marc will give him the same outstanding grade that we give him.....A++++. We have never met any of Marc's customers who do not say the same thing about him.

My wife and I hired Soloway Designs Inc to design and build our second home getaway. After a poor experience of doing this once before I vowed it would never happen again; especially from a long distance.
On a cloudy Sunday afternoon with boredom setting in, we decided to go out and about and look at houses. By chance, we turned into a driveway that had a hidden treasure, for us, designed by Marc Soloway.
Cutting to the chase, a short time later we had some meetings and decided to take the plunge....again.
It was a super positive experience and lots of fun.The process or marriage lasted approximately 3 yrs and guess what;we still communicate with each other.
They kept their promises,met deadlines,stayed within their forcasted budgets even though we didn't and had great attitude and most importantly always got back to us in a timely manner.
Would I do it again???? Absolutely....if I was younger!!!
