John Stapleton

John has been my realtor for 25 years, through 4 transactions and a couple of major life changes. The last one was a home sale as I had moved out of state. The remote issues that John and his assistant Michele handled for me were invaluable to making this move less painful. I cannot say enough good about what John and Michele have done for me. I would highly recommend them for hands on, personal attention and care.

A few months back, a "For Sale" billboard popped up on one of my neighbor’s front lawns. Not a puny sign. A billboard with some really nice-looking interior photos of his house. So nice, I almost wanted to buy his house. He sold his house shortly thereafter. My interest was piqued. He told me about John Stapleton. Some months pass. My wife and I decided it's time to sell our home, so we call John. John stops by one afternoon. Two and a half hours later we had some terrific insights into the housing market, photography, art, painting (John is a bit of a renaissance man with a great sense of humor) and a formidable to-do list of things that John suggested in order to get our home ready for market. When we got a little closer to the bottom of the to-do list, we set a “listing” date and continued to chip away. John stopped by on the Friday afternoon that the listing would hit the MLS and told us we were ready. He also told us that he would be erecting our very own billboard, with some of his interior photos of the house up in the front yard. It looked awesome. I wanted to buy my house. Now, your mileage may vary on this but, the folks from the first appointment to see the house on that Saturday morning made an offer. We followed John’s suggestions and we were ready. Of course, there was back-and-forth, twists-and-turns and some “oh no” moments, but every time we hit a bump in the road, John managed to smooth it over while maintaining an even keel and a positive spin. His advice and negotiation savvy led a couple of stressed-out sellers down the path to a sale. The Godfather could not have had a better Consigliere. Back at the office, John’s Transaction Coordinator, Michelle Iannacone, kept us in the (up to the minute) loop as to what was happening on the less glamorous but totally necessary document and procedural side of things. It was great to get hot, off the press tidbits from Michelle about how things were going behind the scenes. We certainly never could have predicted the favorable outcome (in an unfavorable market) that we experienced with Focus Realty, but when we met John, both my wife and I had a really good feeling. He listened to every word and was genuinely interested in helping us achieve our goals. We can’t speak highly enough of John, Michelle and the little thing he calls Focus Realty. We would enlist their help again in a heartbeat, except that we’re moving to Portugal. If you are not moving to Portugal, you should consider Focus first.

John walked us through the sometimes overwhelming process of finding and purchasing our new home. He was there every step of the way guiding us in a friendly, easy to understand manner. His experience is indispensable. We are so grateful for John!

“John valued us more than the commission check!” I stole this statement from another reviewer because it is SO TRUE!!! We thought we wanted to sell our home and worked with John on some creative ideas (his artistic and creative talents, along with his ability to best frame a space, and help you see yourself in a solution, are kind of off the charts, and unique in his business). In the end, we opted not to sell. At that point, John’s energy, creativity, integrity, and professionalism were only surpassed by his care, empathy and patience to gain us the best solution. I highly recommend John Stapleton to everybody. He is a genuinely good person who also happens to be a phenomenal realtor.

My wife and I simply cannot say enough great things about John and his team. We have both bought and sold with John and the experience has been top notch both times. He really listens to you and makes it his personal goal to get you exactly what you are looking for in the home buying process. As for selling, we got close to asking price in 15 days! What else do I need to say? Go with John...you won't be disappointed. FYI, Michelle is his transaction coordinator and keeps you up to speed on everything every step of the way. Wonderful people!!! John valued us more than the commission check! Our path to return to home ownership was difficult. Financial challenges. Timing challenges. And we were looking for a true needle-in-a-haystack home. Amazingly, we found one! Then VA lost a portion of my service record due to record-storage changes, and my VA loan eligibility disappeared. But John stuck with us. He knew the listing agent and was able to negotiate the extra time we needed to put together a strong plan B. Of course, even plan B had a few roadblocks to clear. John never wavered and held the contract together. Eventually we were able to close and now own a wonderful home! Along the way, we saw clearly that John was totally focused on getting us the home. Nothing about him felt like he was doing this to get paid. It was all about serving us! There is a moment when you really feel like you are being taken care of - when you know you can trust someone. We felt that all along with John.

We are truly grateful to have had John as our agent. He was always available to answer our questions and provide suggestions in preparing our home to be put on the market which resulted in a quick sale and a good price. We highly recommend John for your real estate needs.
