Diana Wiesner of Lampert Lumber in Chetek, WI worked with her client and Dura Supreme to create this custom teal blue paint color for their new kitchen. They wanted a contemporary cottage styled kitchen with blue cabinets to contrast their love of blue, red, and yellow. The homeowners can now come home to a stunning teal (aqua) blue kitchen that grabs center stage in this contemporary home with cottage details. This 1800's Minneapolis kitchen needed to be updated! The homeowners were looking to preserve the integrity of the home and the era that it was built in, yet make it current and more functional for their family. We removed the dropped header and replaced it with a hidden header, reduced the size of the back of the fireplace, which faces the formal dining room, and took down all the yellow toile wallpaper and red paint. There was a bathroom where the new back entry comes into the dinette area, this was moved to the other side of the room to make the kitchen area more spacious. The woodwork in this house is truly a work of art, so the cabinets had to co-exist and work well with the existing. The cabinets are quartersawn oak and are shaker doors and drawers. The casing on the doors and windows differed depending on the area you were in, so we created custom moldings to recreate the gorgeous casing that existed on the kitchen windows and door. We used Cambria for the countertops and a gorgeous marble tile for the backsplash. What a beautiful kitchen! SpaceCrafting

Our 46" workstation sink with built in ledge for cutting boards and other accessories. This large, single bowl sink with dual ledges can do double duty as a party prep and serving station. Double faucets allow two people to work at the sink together and keep one side of the sink usable if the other is occupied with accessories. Shown with our stainless steel colander.

Custom Cabinetry Creates Light and Airy Kitchen. A combination of white painted cabinetry and rustic hickory cabinets create an earthy and bright kitchen. A new larger window floods the kitchen in natural light.

Treve Johnson Photography. This kitchen features Amber 3 ply bamboo cabinets - the bamboo is crossed up in the lay up of the plywood, adding strength and also a nice feature when the doors are open. The interior of the cabinets are made from pre finished maple plywood. Custom features include the island, the stacked washer dryer cabinet, a four bin pull-out garbage unit, and corner hardware on the top and bottom of each corner cabinet.

To further enhance the ambiance, under-bar lighting was strategically installed beneath the overhanging island countertop. This lighting element not only illuminated the bar seating area but also acted as a visual focal point, drawing the eye and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The European kitchen "slab" cabinets or in their more common name the flat panel cabinets became popular more than 3-4 decades ago across the European continent and in the past decade or so started to show in the US as well. The owners of this kitchen were looking to create a semi-open kitchen and Livingroom design with a clean and sunbathed kitchen space. To create an open concept but still divided space we utilized the ceiling instead of the walls. All the walls were removed but the ceiling of the kitchen remained at normal height while the Livingroom boosted vaulted ceilings, this way the two spaces were separately defined. The 2 large corner windows were preserved, and the sink was relocated to that corner of the kitchen and to add additional light we framed a new entry door made by Rustica. This door is all glass with a thin frame of steel gave another much needed light penetration to the kitchen space. The island design includes waterfall panels made from the same cabinet material instead of the countertop stone. The upper cabinets color matches the wall paint thus making them almost invisible in the space.

To keep this kitchen expansion within budget the existing cabinets and Ubatuba granite were kept, but moved to one side of the kitchen. This left the west wall available to create a 9' long custom hutch. Stock, unfinished cabinets from Menard's were used and painted with the appearance of a dark stain, which balances the dark granite on the opposite wall. The butcher block top is from IKEA. The crown and headboard are from Menard's and stained to match the cabinets on the opposite wall. Moving the cabinets left a shortage in the base cabinets. This was filled by the Details custom designed furniture-style cabinet seen through the steel island. Pull out drawers with exposed wire and burlap bins and vertical cookie sheet slots are hardworking additions to the kitchen. Walls are a light spring green and the wood flooring is painted in a slightly deeper deck paint. The budget did not allow for all new matching flooring so new unfinished hardwoods were added in the addition and the entire kitchen floor was painted. It's a great fit for this 1947 Cape Cod family home. The island was custom built with flexibility in mind. It can be rolled anywhere in the room and also offers an overhang counter for seating. Appliances are all new. The black works very well with the dark granite countertops. The client retained their dining table but an L-shaped bench with storage was build to maximize seating during their frequent entertaining. The home did not previously have access to the backyard from the back of the house. The expansion included a new back door that leads to a large deck. Just beyond the fridge on the left, a laundry area was added, relocating it from the unfinished basement.
