Nancy Leary Design

Nancy brilliantly transformed our 1970’s ski chalet with her vision, into a functional, bright, comfortable and open space that makes it so much more enjoyable! Throughout the entire process, Nancy was a pleasure to work with and combined our needs for the space with her wonderful ideas and even partnered with our contractor and checked in on progress and made recommendations along the way. I have worked together with Nancy on several projects now, and sure has always been a pleasure. She had the vision to see possibilities ahead of time and make the most of them in her designs. She brings organization and great communication skills with attention to details to her work besides being a great team player. I have already recommended her to several clients.

Nancy was wonderful to work with. She is a fountain of good ideas, but is always open to hearing from the client. She is smart, funny and a sincerely warm and nice person, but is not afraid to push others to get things done. Nancy is a true professional and I recommend her unconditionally.

Nancy Leary did the design work for our retirement home in Brandon, Vermont. We purchased a small 1880's farmhouse that had been converted into a two family home and was void of any of the original character. Nancy was mindful of the way we wanted to live and work in our new home and her design went above and beyond anything I could of dreamt could be done. She transformed the house into a home that we can enjoy the things we love to do, spend time with with each other and entertain comfortably. Nancy also collaborated with the construction company as team member overseeing the project as we did not live in town thru the renovations. Nancy is artistic and has no boundaries to her creativity.

Nancy Leary designed a highly functional and gorgeous solarium for me . Nancy's design included matching and layered moldings from the mid-late 1800's, custom built in cabinets, a period specific fireplace mantel reusing corbels from the home's exterior and more. The room was energy efficient, which was required due to its great number of widows overlooking the back garden and stone surround landscape. The solarium looked original to the historical nationally registered home when complete. Nancy was very involved with the project manager and master carpenters. I would hire Nancy again!

Nancy has performed several design assignments for us. The first was to turn a ho-hum garage addition into a charming "country cottage" style that opened up and enlarged the usable space without adding to the footprint. The next was a major kitchen addition to the main house that was designed, and built, to look like it had been part of the house from its inception (in 1850). The room is capable of handling cozy groupings, large flow through crowds, and small family gatherings and meals. We live in it! The final project was a master/guest bath that was constrained by ancient plumbing limitations. It turned out very well. Nancy listened to us, worked well with us to accomplish our goals, and used her imagination to make suggestions and improvements that made the projects come to life.

Nancy Leary was/is great to work with. She did the design work for my home in Dorset, VT. In addition to being very talented and personable, I found Ms. Leary to be engaged, passionate and flexible. As my home morphed into what is now my dream home, Nancy guided expertly and patiently. I highly recommend Nancy Leary.

Nancy Leary did a beautiful redesign on my 1850's VT farmhouse. She seamlessly incorporated all my needs, in a fashion that was respectful of the original character of the house, but which also managed to incorporate all the conveniences of the 21st century. The project included: restoration of original front porch, design and installation of a new, modern kitchen, total LR redesign including: creation of stove fireplace and appropriate flanking built-in bookcases, design and installation of new windows and exterior door in LR, relocation of front door, and realignment of beams under original pine plank flooring to eliminate serious buckling and slant. Besides doing a basic basement rehab, a including a new concrete floor, new windows and insulation, upstairs Nancy also did a new insulation of many exterior walls, and in the master bedroom, the installation of new gas fireplace and incorporation of old mantel . Her attentiveness, humor and care throughout the project made her a pleasure to work with. I recommend her highly.
