DC Interiors & Renovations

Renovating our kitchen and greatroom was our second project for which we have used DC Interiors. Doing a complete to the studs reno gave us, especially me as a fulltime wheelchair user, a beautiful and totally accessible master bath. With this main part of the condo renovation we wanted to lighten up the lake side cottage look and bring more light into what could be a gloomy kitchen in mid-winter. Deb and Alana offered up great ideas to go with appliances we had researched for a kitchen we could both use. Removing a taller breakfast bar for a much more versatile and lower island good for both food prep and casual dining allowed some of the natural light to reach the far wall. My husband absolutely loves the beautiful stained shiplap stove hood that now has a funtional exhaust! I now have access to the microwave and a pull out drawer to either slide hot dishes to or use as more prep area and he has the double ovens he has wanted. Our beautiful view of the Yahara River is no longer hidden behind half open Venetian blinds or their dangling strings. We have great, and remote controlled for me, room darkening shades framed by full length fabric panels in the living room area that do not interfer with my rolling past to get out onto the deck. I absolutely love the stackstone that now is the back ground to our see through fireplace and a lighter, bigger and adjustable (yes, guys, no more sun in your eyes just as the GBP's make the play of the decade) TV. The side wall between it and the door to the deck is covered in the same stained shiplap as the kitchen detailing. Getting rid of the old marble tiles and the raised hearth has added floor space and given us clean lines with the lovely chaulk toned stone texture. The pale gray walls are warmed with a light golden carpet as far as the dining area where the floors again revert to cherry. The modern sofa in a medium blue tweed goes wonderfully against the lightweight navy panels and the light gray shades, when down, bring in the two darker gray, leather recliners that while being comfortable are also gentrified and trim enough to bring into any living room. Of all the new furniture I am happiest with how the two tete a tete chairs do just that. They provide a place within the larger living room to have a private conversation. We also had Deb and Alana fit the den on the other side of the fireplace and our master bedroom with full length, lined for room darkening, drapes. They are actually in the type pattern I had suggested but Deb and her window coverings expert convinced me to go with a lighter background and I am very glad they did. I am equally happy they did not talk me into just side panels although that would have been much less expensive. This job required short spurts of banging, a lot of quiet but very detailed work in the flooring, painting and arranging, more banging for the exhaust and we could tell our neighbors in advance so they could head out because we had a calendar they stuck to!

DC Interiors was the perfect choice for my above garage studio remodel. I needed a 3/4 bath and kitchenette put into my space and met with Deb and Alana. I had never done any kind of remodeling before and had just moved to the area so I was relieved to have two friendly professional women to work with. I wasn't sure a man would truly understand my needs and wasn't sure they would "hear" me in the same way as another woman would. All the workers were prompt and respectful of our living space while working and Deb personally came to the job site often to supervise and make sure things ran smoothly. There were a few bumps in the road and they were handled very quickly and were painless. I really felt like I had someone who had my best interests at heart and was in my corner when making decisions with each phase of the project. I felt very taken care of which is rare, yet I also felt like I had control which is important when making big decisions about your living spaces. I highly recommend DC Interiors whether the project is large or small. I even found some great items to help decorate my new space! Deb really has a great eye for details from top to bottom.

I hired DC Interiors & Renovations for my condo remodel. I wanted to update kitchen cabinets, countertops & lighting along with choosing living room furniture. We had a wonderful first meeting with in-depth discussion of what I wanted to accomplish. I was so impressed with the design team of Deb & Alana, that I also decided to update both bathrooms - cabinet, lighting, hardware & mirrors. They listened to my preferences, colors, etc & presented selections which enabled me to decide easily which direction we were going. I had the opportunity to meet with the subcontractors - all very professional. The work schedule was drawn up & updated so I always knew status of project. The project was completed on time. Deb & Alana both have an excellent eye for design & my living room furniture, counter stools, rugs & art work are over the top. Very, very satisfied & highly recommend.

I especially appreciate Deb Corning and her staff, Project Manager Renee Degelau and assistant Alana Barrera, for designing and organizing the remodeling of my 27-year-old home. The trained judgement of the designers provided me with appealing choices of colors, styles and materials, while my own choices and budget were respected. Carefully selected, skilled subcontractors worked on the construction project with diligence and precision for three months, educating me about their materials and techniques, while the process was monitored daily by DC Interiors. The results are very impressive. I would advise do-it-yourself builders to consider instead the special advantages of hiring the experts of DC Interiors and Renovations.

Innovative design combined with knowledge and professionalism, to make working with DC Interiors a pleasure. Our basement renovation was completed ahead of schedule and we found each sub-contractor that DC utilized to be reliable, conscientious and kind. Honoring our budget while keeping the focus on quality, left us with a finished space that will bring us immense satisfaction in the years to come.

Working with DC Interiors was a great experience. Our project was done on time and exactly as described. We were able to work within our budget and focus our spending on the areas that where the return on our investment would be the greatest. Alana and Deb were always present to ensure the project went smoothly and kept us informed every step of the way. DC Interiors did a great job on my bathroom remodel. They were very reasonably priced & did high quality work. Our designer Alana, came over every day the project was going on & I really appreciated that. I always knew the status of the project and she was there to answer any questions I had. The carpenters were very courteous and always cleaned up after themselves, which I also appreciated. I would highly recommend DC Interiors to anyone!

The staff at DC Interiors provided us with excellent and creative ideas for our restaurant remodeling which helped improve traffic flow in addition to a new sleek and professional look. Rebecca was skilled in helping us to choose paint colors for our entire condo. We love the walls throughout our home! She also helped us by finding many options in lighting fixtures and even ordering them for us. She helped us to reframe several of our favorite paintings with a much more contemporary look. The contractors hired by DC Interiors to complete all the painting and lighting were respectful and punctual. Rebecca worked with them and us in an amazing way. We have worked with contractors in the past on our own and met with many frustrations; hiring DC Interiors to oversee the project was definitely the best decision. What was once a drab and ordinary condominium has now evolved into a warm, contemporary, eclectic home! We highly recommend DC Interiors without reservation.

Deb and Rebecca are superstars at identifying your personal style and creating an atmosphere that is beautiful, functional, and personal. My style is quirky, asymmetrical, and somewhat minimalist. Something akin to glam meets the muppets with a touch of exotic and Dr Suess thrown in for good measure. Not easy to meet that type of request! Yet the design team at DC Interiors continues to amaze me at their ability to find pieces, colors, and textiles that meet my vision and budget. The professionalism I have experienced with the whole team is not warm and respectful, but fun and friendly. I instantly made new friends when I met them! And you will too.

DC Interiors did outstanding work on a lighting project in my store. customers were having problems seeing the true colors of my materials and in picture framing that is critical. They offered me several alternatives and we selected the best one. They the had a electrician who worked with them install the solution. he results are more sales and happier customers. They really knew how to make this all happen quickly and easily. I really appreciate their great work!

Deb gave us great suggestions to remodel a house we bought to suite our needs. Her ideas were bent on the practical side while reusing existing stuff from the house. She never pushed her ideas, listened to us and improvised on what we suggested.
