Wayne and Michael were amazing to work with. We have been trying to conceptualize a renovation for our 1920s home for years and we have never been able to come up with the “right” design. Within minutes of working with Visbeen, they had solved our dilemmas and created a beautiful home design. The talent at this firm is unmatched. We are only in the initial phases of the renovation, but we would highly recommend Visbeen.

We recently began working with architect Wayne Visbeen on the remodel of our condominium in downtown Madison, WI, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our progress after the first meeting! Wayne took the time to truly understand our lifestyle and how we want the space to function. On the spot, Wayne used his amazing drawing skills to translate our conversation into two initial designs that blew our minds! His creativity and eye for detail are second to none. He added an important third bedroom, while still maintaining the character of the original space. Wayne also incorporated innovative design elements that made the most of every square foot, which is important in our downtown location, where space is at a premium. We highly recommend taking an initial meeting with Wayne to appreciate both the creativity and practicality that he brings to the table. We can’t wait to finish our sessions to finalize an amazing design!

Our experience with Visbeen Architects started with a vision we had of our dream home. A home we had seen many times in our travels throughout the northeast coast. The romantic shingled homes with roof sweeps and lots of architectural detail. Wayne Visbeen took those thoughts and visions we talked about with him, and sketched them out in front of us! As if he could see what we were seeing. His talent is truly amazing. After further sketches and layout and with the help of Rhyse Altmans understanding of the historical detail of that type of home we had a design! As that design and build came into fruition, it was even more beautiful than the prints. Going through the home room by room is like turning the pages in a design magazine and it is our home! We could not be more pleased with the work and vision of Wayne Visbeen, Rhyse Altman and all of the people at Visbeen Architects who were so helpful throughout the process (especially since we live in Tennessee and the build was in northern Michigan). Working with the Visbeen team was a terrific experience from beginning to end. At our first meeting, Wayne asked us thoughtful and insightful questions about our goals and vision for our lake house. We watched in awe as he brought this vision to life on paper in just two hours. Over the following months the design was fine-tuned under the direction of Jeff Segard. Jeff is a great listener, asks critical questions, and provides expert guidance and feedback. During meetings and through emails, the Visbeen team made us feel like we were their only client, and they were true partners with our builder. When my husband and I sat down with Wayne a few months ago, we were unsure if he would be able to capture our specific vision and design it in a way that would maximize our very limited budget.
