If you are looking for a custom home builder who is honest, straight-forward, has excellent attention to detail, and truly cares about their clients, look no further. Sunset Properties of Tampa Bay built our dream home in S. Tampa starting from conception to the final result. Mark and Peter were there every step of the way guiding us from start to finish. I cannot say enough nice things about them. We worked with architect, Meyer Weitzman and designer Carolina Curran who regularly team with Sunset on jobs. They have great working relationships with each other making every step of this project seamless. While working on our home, both Mark and Peter of Sunset encouraged us to regularly stop by the project to walk the property with them. They answered all our calls, were always open to discussion, and made sure to be available when we needed them. I recommend them to everyone we know, even strangers. There isn't one bad thing I could say, because they really make you feel heard and insist on only the best for their clients. You can also tell how liked they are by vendors in the industry. While picking out things like flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, etc. we would sometimes get an annoyed look when saying our builder sent us until we mentioned Sunset Properties, then it was big smiles, open arms and constant compliments to Mark and Peter. I'm telling you this is MAJORLY important. A happy vendor is an accommodating vendor and helps that stressful process become a fun one. At the completion of our project, we were actually sad to say goodbye to them. What could've been one of the hardest projects of our life turned out to be one of the most enjoyable experiences we've ever had. I equate that all to Mark and Peter and the rest of their team. I promise you won't regret using them for projects big or small.

We recently bought a townhouse here in Tampa, and as it was 17 years old we wanted to do some renovations, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms.. A friend of ours recommended Sunset Properties as they had also used them and were very happy with the work. In addition to meeting with Mark, we also talked to 3 other contractors, and after doing so it was very easy to make our choice. The subcontractors who came in to do the jobs had worked with Sunset Properties for many years and were professionals in every sense of the word. The quality of the work excellent. Peter came by often to oversee everything and made sure all was going according to plan. My wife had many questions, and Mark and Peter made sure she had all the information she needed. We very much enjoyed meeting Mark and Peter, and it was a pleasure to see it all come together. We moved in about a month ago, and the longer we are here, the more we are loving it!

Sunset built a 1,200 sq ft guest house for us. We were very pleased with them! Their quality of work, attention to detail, and responsiveness make them a great choice for anyone looking to build in the Tampa Bay area.

I would recommend Sunset Properties to anyone. Our project: 1) build-out a 3rd floor attic (creating additional 1,150 sf living space), 2) replace our metal carport with a masonry garage, and 3) full kitchen renovation. They gave us a price proposal ... it came in very close to initial budget, with only minor change control increases (due to our change requests). They told us to expect 5-7 months completion time-frame ... they finished in exactly 5-months. The quality of their workmanship is excellent because they primarily use the best local subs ... subs who have been around awhile & know what they're doing. Peter keeps a close eye on everything that's done to make sure it's done right. They do a great job of coordinating the subs so a day doesn't go by when there aren't people at the house doing work. Mark & Peter are easy to work with, they are very fair, and they do their job with efficiency and professionalism. I strongly recommend them.

Working with Mark and Peter was an absolute dream. The first GC we hired had our 1920’s historic Hyde Park home in shambles. Mark and Peter came to the rescue and did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional and very easy to work with at every stage of the project. I highly recommend them and will definitely work with them again in the future.

They finished on time and produced an unbelievably quality product coupled with fantastic design! We are so thankful for our beautifully constructed home and are proud to call Mark and Peter friends. Since they have built me an incredible home I plan on enjoying for many years to come, the next best thing I can do is to share my experience and give them an honest review. We hired Sunset to do a major renovation of our lakefront home. Work included gutting the kitchen, removing a wall to open the kitchen to the family room, designing and building a high-end kitchen (intended for serious use), designing and building an outdoor kitchen and covered patio space, re-tiling and re-finishing the pool and pool deck, and several related upgrades. Mark quickly understood our vision and connected us with an architect who was easy to work with, and who make our intentions come to life. Pete managed all the construction. Pete is very hands-on, walking us through the project, providing recommendations, and coming up with pragmatic solutions to address changes and developments. We are thrilled with the output. And most importantly, Sunset stands by its work and follows up when the project is over. We have needed some support over the 3 years since, and every time we reached out, Sunset was prompt to reply and address our needs.
