Sheri Mize Design Studios

We hired Sheri Mize to transform our SB vacation rental property into the "quintessential Santa Barbara experience". Her contacts and background allowed her to offer us a choice of unique, one of a kind items and beautiful vintage fabrics. You can not find these pieces in any store. Her local knowledge kept our style true to its heritage and we learned a lot about Santa Barbara history on the way. In fact, all of our rental guests commented on the home's detail to comfort, beauty and charm. Sheri offers practical solutions to challenging issues. For example, we have many windows of different sizes. Her idea to create custom "hacienda style" shutters not only solved the problem but added to the ambiance through out the house. Sheri also has an amazing eye for room colors and arranging furniture/items to balance odd spaces. She created functionality and an "easy flow" where there was none before. Now the rooms look like they were specifically built to accommodate the furniture and art work. This was our first experience hiring a designer and we found Sheri easy to work with plus, she made it a fun process. We fell in love with our new transformed adobe so much (and Santa Barbara too) that we ended up selling our home in Washington, DC and moving here full time. We still wander around the house and find little details previously unknown to us. We feel very fortunate to have worked with Sheri. We just hired her again for another project!

Sheri Mize design work was truly breathtaking! I had no idea the project would turn out as good as it did. Sheri Mize is very easy to work with, has wonderful taste, and is very mindful of the budget of her clients. The overall design ideas are wonderful, and it is carried thru to the little details like lamps, artwork, accessories, even the proper books for each room. The finished product is a warm, comfortable place to come home to and really live in.
