We hired SBI for an exterior renovation of our 1920s home in Seattle which included a change to our roofline, new roof/gutters and a new, and enlarged deck with pedestal-set concrete pavers and steel railings on a critical slope. We are happy with the quality of the work that was completed and there was transparency and good communication throughout the first ¾ of the project regarding our budget and necessary change orders. However, while in the final month of the project and without any advance warning, we were presented with an invoice that put the total cost of our renovation 25+% over the approved budget/change orders AND it didn't include actually completing the job or repairing damages incurred along the way. We've had to spend additional time and money sourcing other vendors to complete the work and repairs.

We have worked with SBI Construction on several award winning projects. Most notably, Nils Finne's Redmond Residence (http://www.houzz.com/projects/286937/redmond-house) and most recently a Bellevue, WA, private residence by David Coleman / Architecture (yet to be photographed). Throughout each lengthy project the staff at SBI, from estimators to project managers, have all been wonderful to work with. We value the relationship that has developed with the highly skilled craftsmen & women at SBI.

Mark, Michael, and the whole SBI crew are professional, proactive, and all around good to work with. Even when there were some delivery and quality control issues with a supplier, they found a way to schedule the work so that the project was not delayed. The final results are a testament to their skill and hard work. I look forward to my next project with them.
