プロフィール

Paul was the principal architect and president of Lail Design Group in St. Helena for more than a decade; he founded Paul Kelley Architecture, Inc., in 2008. He is a certified Master Green Building Professional; a member of the US Green Building Council and the Napa Chamber of Commerce; founder of the Napa Valley Building Design & Construction Consortium; a past board member of Napa County Landmarks; a past commissioner/chair of the city of Napa’s Cultural Heritage Commission; and a current commissioner on the city of Napa’s Planning Commission. Bay Area architect for two decades, Paul Kelley was the principal architect for such renowned restaurants as The French Laundry (renovation) and Bouchon Bakery; wineries including Honig, Morlet and Schramsberg; private residences of luminaries such as Chef Thomas Keller (remodel); and the restoration of many landmark and historic properties, including the Niebaum-Coppola House in Rutherford and The Sherry House & Depot Saloon in St. Helena. I can not say enough wonderful things about Paul Kelly! He is truly talented and is able to translate what his clients want into amazing architecture. He gets the Napa Valley lifestyle; Open floor plans, the synergy of indoor & outdoor living and all of the aesthetics that accompany that. He is also fantastic at client communication. Besides being amazing at what he does, Paul is a really good guy and is fun to work with! I feel very confident referring my clients to Paul and know that they are in the best of care. Thank you for making the Napa Valley a more beautiful place to live Paul!

Thoroughly enjoyed working with Paul and his team. Paul was referred to me by my realtor. He is professional, smart, timely, and extremely well-versed in how to properly remodel an older Victorian cottage. Being new to the area means you'll need to be well-informed about local policies and regulations. Since Paul is from the area, he and his team are deeply familiar with local and regional planning, engineering, and construction policies. Paul and his team also referred a terrific contractor (Mr. Paul Rodman) who did a great job redesigning a 100+ year home. I highly recommend him.

Paul Kelley is a very talented and creative architect who helped us design our dream home in Napa. Paul listened to us describe our vision for a modern farmhouse and provided direction and ideas that we had not thought of. By the time he presented the first draft plan, Paul totally nailed our style. We also have worked very closely with his Design Associate, Jessica Hunter. Jessica has provided very valuable guidance and design input throughout the design and construction phases. Paul and Jessica make a great team and complement each other’s talents. We would highly recommend using Paul Kelley for your project.

Paul Kelley oversaw a project to upgrade my mother's Coombsville area home seismically, functionally, and aesthetically. The seismic part saved the house from major damage in the 2014 South Napa Earthquake. The house, built in 1972 to older standards, went unscathed as many neighbors suffered structural damage. Installation of photo-voltaic panels reduced her electric bill to zero, a backup generator protected her from outages, and upgrades to bathrooms accommodated her increasing frailty as she aged in place. Finally, new carpeting, wall paper, and garden design made her surroundings more pleasant. Paul's recommendations allowed her to spend wisely on improvements that would have the most impact for the money. He very professionally coordinated all the contractors on the project. We were impressed with his broad knowledge of the issue involved.

Working with Paul and his team was great! Paul was generous with his rate given that we are a nonprofit organization, and the work was done in a timely manner. Paul was responsive and answered all our questions, putting us at ease during the process. Should the need arise again, Napa Humane would hire Paul Kelley Architecture, for sure.

Paul is a consummate professional who focuses on the realities of making those big decisions. He glides his clients though the complicated process of both the design and physical construction stages. From very large commercial projects to small residential remodels, Paul gives his customers the attention they deserve and does it without a huge ego. Out of all the architects I have worked with over the years Paul is unique in his style and commitment to doing whats right for his clients and the community.

Paul Kelley has been extremely helpful in offering his expertise and wisdom for our renovation project on our Victorian Farmhouse in downtown Napa. He guided us on how best to deal with an old foundation as well as offered his advice on our upcoming bathroom remodel. I am quite familiar with many of his former projects and would highly recommend him for any and all restoration and remodeling projects (residential and/or business)!

Paul and I worked together to update and modernize a 1910 farmhouse. He listened to me describe what my visions and dreams were for our home and transferred them into reality! It was a complicated job but he was a real joy to work with, the turn around was very efficient and our contractor loved his plans! Both my husband and I highly recommend Paul Kelley Architect.

We are just beginning our Garden Addition to our home in Napa, California. Paul has been extremely gracious in coming to our home to see our site, and has been instrumental in giving us timely advice on each stage of the development of our project. As we go further into the project I know we will be in great hands with Paul's expertise and kindness.

I have had Paul consult for my clients prior to purchasing a home, my clients have found his wisdom and understanding of Napa County regulations a life saver when looking a properties to buy. I highly recommend doing your research prior to purchasing and bring on a skill architect like Paul can save a buyer thousands of dollars.

I was worked with Paul Kelley, Architect, Inc. on the interior of a project to completely restore an historic earthquake damaged property. Paul’s design honored the historic elements of the house while adding unique and beautiful updates that greatly enhanced the livability of the space. He is thoughtful, highly experienced and creative, and his attention to detail is unsurpassed.
