Paul Hendershot Design, Inc.

We engaged Paul to design our backyard BBQ/Pizza picnic area. He worked very collaboratively with us on the design, and we ended up with the perfect outdoor space. We don't go a week without taking advantage of our new picnic area.

We bought a large property in Ojai in 2017 which needed a complete landscaping overhaul. Paul designed and installed a landscape scheme that I can only describe as incredible. Our home is historic and we wanted a design that was both fresh and yet felt organic to the home. Paul did that beyond our wildest dreams.

Paul has exquisite style, taste and a deep knowledge when it comes to design. I had my heart set on working with him and I was right, he is a master! If you get the opportunity to work with Paul Hendershot, go for it!

Paul brought a level of sophistication and design to our garden that exceeded my expectations and, he worked within the parameters and goals that we had set. It was great to benefit from his decades of experience. He came highly recommended from a friend and I have recommended him to friends of mine as well. Now I recommend him to you.

We had the pleasure of working with an incredibly talented landscape architect who truly brought our vision to life. He dedicated an entire weekend at our home, carefully considering our style and preferences while designing a stunning plan. His provided plans captured every detail perfectly, blending creativity with functionality.

We hired Paul Hendershot Design to help us re-design our interior courtyard. Paul's design was simple, clean and elegant. What was once a boring space with no interest is now one our favorite spots to have our morning coffee. Paul's fees for the work were very reasonable. He was also a pleasure to work with. We'll use his design services again should the need arise.

Working with Paul Hendershot Design has been a wonderful experience! Paul's designs are elegant and timeless. He transformed our front yard from exposed and undefined to our own private, peaceful sanctuary. His staff are professional and a pleasure to work with. We look forward to working with PHD again in the near future!

Paul's vision is beyond compare. He knows everything there is to know about plants, gardens, and design. His landscape design will make your garden and hence, your home look better than you ever could imagine. Paul communicates clearly. He is professional while being warm and kind.

Nobody has a better eye than Paul Hendershot! He is a landscape genius and a pleasure to work with. He has created some of the most beautifully simple but elegant gardens (including ours) that I have seen. People stop by our house regularly to comment on the garden. He cares deeply about his work and his clients. Not only did we end up with the garden and outdoor entertaining spaces we’d hoped for, but we also ended up with a new friend in Paul.

We turned to Paul to help us with our landscaping after standing in a delightful, sycamore shaded garden he created for our neighbors. We needed a total reconsideration of an original conception for our property that had never quite worked. Paul did an amazing job of finding a new way forward for us that didn’t bust our budget.

Highly creative and knowledgeable, and easy to work with, Paul Hendershot is a standout among landscape designers -- and we tried a few on the way to him (!). His love for the South of France is in perfect sync with California garden design. Thanks to his good taste and restraint, his designs are never faddy, fussy, or overdone -- instead, they're simple, classic, and timeless. Our garden looks wonderful. Plus, he's funny! A pleasure to work with.

Paul is an amazingly talented designer who is down to earth, flexible and easy to work with. We feel privileged to have had him design our new front yard. His office support individual, Alicia, is also amazing in every possible way she could be.
