J. Stephen Peterson & Associates, P.S.

We hired Stephen Peterson for 3 separate jobs, all of which we are delighted with. He helped us with a garage-to-living space conversion, a new kitchen design, a full-blown remodel including a new garage. He is very considerate of time and quick to make any changes as needed for the plans during the permitting process. I would highly recommend him for any project.

We wanted to change a storage area into habitable space. We wanted to do it the right way so we could get the sq ft officially added. This required an architected plan for the City of Woodinville. I contacted several local architects, but Stephen was the first to call back. We found him easy to work with and he got the plans done and submitted within days. the project is now done and permit signed off! Thanks Stephen.

Steve has done a fantastic job picking up our in progress remodel design. Great recommendations for improvements to the design. Quickly updated our plans, prepared our permit application and got plans submitted smoothly to the County (making up 10 months of lost time with last architect). Professional and experienced to make this happen - we are so grateful and appreciative. Highly recommended as a referral and now I can highly recommend as well.

We found Steve on the Internet and were drawn by his design and aesthetic demonstrated in previous projects. Our project was a relatively simple garage. Steve came out to look at the house and lot, and collected info from us. He is friendly and knowledgable...offered design ideas and suggestions to make the new garage most useful and valuable. He was able to produce a full set of drawings in a short period of time and got our project off to a great start.

Had a good experience with Stephen. He had the ability to translate clients' wants/needs into ideas on paper in a timely fashion. Good designer and problem solver. Tactful but not shy about making sure you do not go in the wrong direction. Keeps things on track. Always feel he is on your side.

We hired Steve to design our retirement dream home on a shy acre near Woodinville. We had spent many months researching home plans available online and nothing really fit with our property and our needs. Steve listened carefully to our combination of likes, dislikes, desires, goals and budgetary limits. He designed a delightfully lovely, unique and practical home for us that exceeded our expectations and stayed within our financial boundaries. His work shows a perfect blend of engineering skill, architectural competence and artistic gifts. The fact that he is fun to work with is an extra bonus. We give him our highest recommendation.

Steve worked with us as we were deciding whether to do a gut remodel/addition or to tear down and start over on small lake cabin. Steve's patience, insight and clear and direct communication were very helpful. Steve was also very professional and mindful of our design budget-- his contract was clear and concise, with valuable waypoints built in to keep us on track without spinning our wheels "overdesigning". Exactly as he promised, we got through a preliminary set of drawings and Steve met with us and our contractor to review and get a basic estimate. It was then that a job opportunity made it clear that we would not be proceeding at all. Steve was supportive and understanding and because of his professional guidance we feel good about the decision knowing that someone else will benefit from our early efforts.

We live in a slightly larger than 1,000 square foot ranch style home in a lovely neighborhood in Bellevue. We needed an architect to assist us in understanding the scope of either a 1-story or 2 story remodel in our neighborhood versus our other option of selling and buying a larger home in our neighborhood. Steve was clearly very knowledgeable about the extent to what should be considered with our home, and he was also very design savvy. He provided an idea of how we can remodel our home that would be in keeping with our budget. We do recommend Steve!

J. Stephen Peterson brought our ideas to life. He was punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and provided help at each step to insure a successful project kick off. An effective communicator, and creative talent. His style helped us expand on our ideas into our dream home.

We have worked with Peterson & Assoc. on a number of projects and have always been very pleased with the outcome. They are not only creative but willing to listen to our input on how we like to build our projects. Even small jobs that many architects will not bother with Peterson will take on which is a big point in their favor. As a remodeling contractor we are careful who we connect with our clients and Steve does not disappoint. We highly recommend them.

Steve and Ane helped us remodel our kitchen. It involved removing several walls, false ceilings, new window arrangement and entire reconfiguration of the space. They listened to our needs, understood our budget constraints, and stayed on task. They presented 4 designs, each unique and each meeting our criteria. It was at this point that we realized the value of hiring professionals. They addressed every detail, made practical suggestions that we would not have thought of, and helped us save time and money with their expert advice. We were impressed with their with artistic style and sense of design. We now have a dream kitchen that functions exactly how we want, is beautiful to look at, and a pleasure to be in. We thank Steve and Ane every day and highly recommend them for any remodel project.

I have worked with Steve on several jobs over the past ten years. His idea's and abilities were greatly appreciated. He would respond quickly to all issues. He was mindfull and respectful to both his clients and contractors.
