Noz Design

I hired Noz and her team to lead the design for a complete remodel of my 2BD/2BR condo in San Francisco. Before hiring a designer, I had worked up some very rough design ideas, but I wanted a designer to “push the envelope” while also developing a cohesive aesthetic throughout the home. From our initial consultation, Noz worked really hard to understand what I wanted, and used that as a starting point for her own amazingly unique and creative ideas. My home has been transformed in a way quite different from what I originally expected, but very much in the spirit of what I was seeking from a comfort and design perspective. I couldn’t be happier with how the place turned out, thanks to Noz and her team! From initial contact to the completion of the project, Noz and team were consistently enthusiastic, communicative, prompt and clear. We worked through three design proposals, and with each iteration a concept drawing was incredibly helpful in thinking about what the final space would look like. The process was super valuable for me – Noz definitely had incredible ideas but was also more than open to my feedback and always available to explain and/or balance her design choices in very practical terms. Noz and her team also selected new furniture throughout the home, some of which was initially outside my comfort zone, but ultimately really added the finishing touch to the overall vibe of the final space. I’ll just add to what others have said here already: For all her obvious design talent and accolades, Noz listens to her clients, is extremely practical, and is super fun to work with. She brings not just amazing design ideas and concepts but also a healthy perspective on the realities of construction. We had to scramble a few times with costs, pandemic delivery timelines, and many of the usual construction-related delays, and she always had good, practical solutions, while keeping the final design in mind. I think it’s a rare combination and I would not hesitate to recommend Noz and her team!

Noz listens well, pays attention to detail and strives to create a space that suits the client. We absolutely love our remodel! I have been dreaming of working with Noz for years, and as luck would have it she was working on the perfect project that would allow us to collaborate - a custom mosaic tile entryway for a fabulous vintage jewelry shop! As always Nozs' creative vision was stellar, but from a trade perspective I was so impressed and pleased by how concise, communicative, and collaborative she and her team were on all fronts! The final product was gorgeous, timeless, and effortlessly chic - I have my fingers crossed we have the chance to collaborate again in the future!

Choosing Noz as our designer for our new home is one of the best decisions we've made and I could not recommend her more highly. When we first went searching for interior designers we were struck by how so many people produce very similar-looking work. Noz is distinctly not this type of designer. She oozes creativity and original thought in a way that is refreshing and inspiring. She is always creating spaces that are new and truly unique for her clients - rooms that meet their needs, echo their aesthetic spirit, and elevate the atmosphere of a home to heights that seem unimaginable. Noz did all of this for us and more. She took careful note of all our family's wants and needs, was patient with doing revisions to make everything perfect for us, and produced gorgeous results. Noz was wonderful to work with in every way possible - she is kind and so genuinely likable. She won over and befriended my children immediately. She takes pride in her work but also balances a sense of humility, being willing to consider other viewpoints and incorporate them into her work when needed. She works hard and is reliable when it comes to timelines (something that is SO hard to find in this world!). She is militant in adhering to a budget and keeps track of orders, costs and all correspondence with impressive meticulousness. She reliably responds to all emails promptly. All of the people in Noz's orbit who she sent to our home to paint, to woodwork, to hang pictures, install furniture, etc. are like her--kind, talented and hardworking--we always know that anyone she vouches for will do great work for us. Noz cares deeply about everything she does but even more importantly genuinely cares about the people and the greater world around her - she is always looking for ways to do good and to use her talents and her platform to help others. We are truly lucky to know Noz and to be able to work with her and now consider her a friend. Anyone who gets to work with Noz will certainly not regret the opportunity.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with Noz Design and her fantastic team! She was able to merge ideas from my husband and I who have totally different styles (I'm more muted, contemporary and he's more bold and modern) to make our home feel like the ultimate masterpiece. We began our interior design journey by providing rounds of feedback on Noz's design proposals. She created three iterations to help us visualize the potential of each space with different furniture options within our budget. She was super open to feedback and took detailed notes on our likes and dislikes until we reached a final agreement. She thankfully pushed me out of my comfort zone and we were able to include items with mix of textures, patterns and colors which integrates perfectly within each space. Her team handled the ordering and tracking of everything from: wallpaper, to complex furniture deliveries from Italy, to lighting shipments in accordance to our HOA guidelines. One of the unique features of our home is the subtly textured living rooms walls featuring plastered crocodile print with gold outlines. The wonderful staff at Caroline Lizarraga Decorative Painting completed the project in three weeks and were very meticulous in painting our unit. Due to the pandemic, some of our furniture was delayed but Noz and her team kept us informed on timing and we were able to coordinate keeping our older furniture in the meantime. Noz's vendor, George Elwell Trucking, provided superb white glove delivery service and made sure all of our items were inventoried, delivered and setup with no issues. They did this in conjunction with Kyle from Noz Design who inspected each piece of furniture on arrival for flaws so we never saw any issue. Sarah from Seams Perfect Wallcovering Installations did a fabulous job installing and crafting our custom Calico wallpaper to perfection! So to sum this all up, Noz and her design team completely transformed our space for the better. We are super grateful for using the services of someone with such a keen design eye who is thoughtful and equally talented. I never felt like a number and working with her was an absolute dream. Thank you for providing an unbelievable experience!

Not only is Noz a brilliant, creative designer and big thinker who is fun to work with, she also always has your best interests in mind and at heart. She knows where investment makes sense in beautiful things and to support local artisans but also how to do amazing things on a budget - and how to balance the two to make you feel great about the outcome both aesthetically and financially. Noz is a great choice for anyone (or family) that wants their home to absolutely delight them, to reflect who they are and to never be boring. Highly recommend.

The thing about Noz, is that while she has a wild, crazy... MAXIMALIST streak, she appreciates classic architectural elements and aesthetic. So if find yourself lucky enough to live in a Victorian or Edwardian or Spanish Colonial home, but hope to update it, you'd be hard-pressed to find a designer who will help you celebrate it better—and f it up more—than Noz. That might sound crass, but I don't mean it to be. She has the utmost reverence for California, New York and the other cities in which she's worked. She's free of classism, as well. In conversation, she's equally excited about her studio apartment commissions, her multi-million-dollar homes and her commercial endeavors. It's just that Noz doesn't feel the need to play by the rules. I love that, so for me, she is a constantly-inspiring and fun human with whom to work.

We found Noz on Houzz a couple of years ago because we needed some help designing the remodel of our kitchen and two bathrooms. We were drawn to her unique and vibrant style and positive reviews. Our experience with Noz far exceeded our expectations. Not only is she a wonderfully warm and positive person to work with, she has amazing ability to understand our aesthetic and come up with exciting designs. Our experience with past designers was a times frustrating, either because they would ignore our budget concerns or weren't open to critiques. Noz respected all our budget concerns and is easy to have an open dialogue with and the results are amazing. In fact, we had such a positive experience with our home remodel, we ended up hiring her to design our new restaurant and we are now using her to design our home outdoor space. We will continue to use her for any design projects.

I am a personal concierge, and I met Noz three years ago because we had a mutual client. I came into the fold midway through the design and remodel. I was quickly impressed with how she was able to blend my (opinionated!) client's eclectic taste with the unique features of a historic home, and still elevate the home's interiors with her own remarkable aesthetic. Not surprisingly this client's kitchen and living room landed in the pages of Sunset Magazine! Given the small world nature of client referrals, Noz and I have since shared clients and overlapped on projects. I've now witnessed her work from concept stage to completion. Her interiors are as accessible as they are sophisticated, and the level of imagination she brings to her interiors cross boundaries in the most stunning of ways. As an aside, she is also a joy to work with, whether it's the mundane (coordinating furniture receiving) or the trickier stuff (contractor management). I doubt I have the proper words to describe her style, but bar none comes to mind.
