Renee possesses a rare combination of artistic creativity and intuitive design. Her warmth and compassion extended beyond working with us to understanding the style and feel of our home and how we live in it. We felt fortunate to work with and get to know Renee and absolutely love the updates she made to our home- from windows and walls to artwork and furniture!

Renee not only has an amazingly creative eye, she also directed a massive renovation for us this past year that included the challenges of operating during the pandemic. She put together a team that had an incredible work ethic and brought the project in on-time and on-budget. She's a great listener. When we threw ideas at her, she was never dismissive; quite the contrary, she made them better. Her patience and attention to detail combined with her whacky sense of humor meant we were all able to smile while producing a home that we love. A great talent and a great lady.

It was a delight to work with Renee and I am absolutely thrilled with the final outcome of the project. The entire house is stylish, yet comfortable and perfectly suited to my needs. After moving from a large colonial to a small two bedroom ranch, there was a need to redesign the open concept living/dining area to allow for entertaining family and friends. The guest bath needed to be reconfigured and a large shower added. The lighting needed changes and updating. I wanted a gas fireplace added as well. The house also came with some unfinished or poorly realized DIY projects that needed correction. I knew what needed to be done, but Renee was able to articulate my style. She added finishes such as the walnut windowsills, mantle and fireplace surround that would never have occurred to me, yet somehow are just what i wanted. By offering choices in lighting, cabinets, flooring I could make a final decision without the angst of reviewing the hundreds/thousands of products available. The choices were such that whatever I selected it would look wonderful. Her artful choice of color palette still wows me. Renee was respectful of my time and budget. She understood the need to make design choices that were safe, practical and comfortable for the three large dogs that share this small home. And she did so without sacrificing one iota of style. Renee was professional, honest and a lot of fun to work with! Renee is well connected to vendors that have an excellent array of quality products within a variety of price ranges. My contractor was exceptionally pleased with how easy she was to work with and how smoothly everything on her end of the project ran. I worked with Mandeville Canyon Designs to update my home. The experience was exceptional. Renee really understood how I use my home and what I like. She was incredibly detailed in her design from the furniture, window treatments, art, accessories all the way to the perfect electrical outlets. Nothing was overlooked. I purchased a home with the intention of having a pool and entertainment space however I didn't realize the challenge of having a sloped yard as well as a water drainage issue. I didn't know where to start and Renee Carman was recommended to me. I feel extremely lucky to have been directed to her. She and I worked well together and could depend on her to provide me with a classy design and to be there the entire project to communicate with the landscapers, contractors, electricians, pool company and plumbers. It was an extremely large job and she handled everything and everyone with professionalism and grace.

Renee and Heather are incredible designers in every way! They really listened to us - our likes, dislikes, even in between the lines. They designed 5 rooms for our new home and we were stunned at how well they captured our styles while also giving us the confidence to try new things that would still feel like a natural part of our home. Mandeville Canyon Design, and Renee in particular, is the kind of design firm that I wish everyone knew about. I cannot say enough good things about how taken care of I feel through an entire home remodel/renovation. Renee's so talented, but one of the best things about her work is how she really listens to me as a client. She is a fabulous sounding board, and she is also quite good at "listening" to the space she's working in. Renee has worked with us on may projects. She brings such creativity and flexibility to each aspect of interior design. We have renovated a barn, kitchen, & bathrooms with her expertise. She always knows when to add a pop of color or a rustic piece to finish a room and her knowledge of the construction process is such a bonus. I would highly recommend Renee for any interior design project, large or small!

We were billed for a meeting with a third party vendor that we did not participate in, and did not request. We did not receive a single useable idea from 5 hours of billed time. We never received a detail invoice as to how the billed time was spent, despite the request. We never received any specific recommendations, other than a couple unusable ideas brought up during a meeting.

Our new home purchase (naturally) required many decisions. Fortunately, we had Renee to help us with lighting, fans, paint, floor and wall tile, counter tops and cabinets. Renee was a good "listener" regarding our general style preferences, and was truly great at offering recommendations which "clicked" with us. Not just on specific pieces of the puzzle, but also making it all truly work well together due to the "open" interior construction, and we love the results. Renee's approach and articulation was always clear, none of the confusion which can easily occur in our world of infinite choices. I have never hired a decorator before and I would never decorate without Renee again. She is wonderful.
