Lago Design

When I found out about Lago I thought their furniture was amazing, and I ended spending a lot of money on sofas, beds and other furniture. When after about 8 or 9 years I approached them for help with re-upholstering the sofas and armchairs - that had aged terribly - I was told that there was nothing they would do to help. They then informed me that in fact their clients are happy to throw away their furniture every few years and buy new ones. I was shocked, and I still am. My furniture is enormous, and their marketing is based on their environmental credentials. I certainly cannot just throw this stuff into a landfill, but it turns out that nobody can reupholster the furniture because of the complications involved in the manufacturing. So I am stuck with a lot of ugly furniture, full of stains, faded, and foam full of lumps, bumps and ridges. The side arms of the sofa have practically collapsed and look so ugly! I would not recommend that anyone buys Lago furniture regardless of how sexy their catalogues are: their attitude with regards to offering customers some kind of longer term solution to upgrade their items is a complete disgrace. You should only buy if YOU are going to be comfortable throwing away this furniture as, based on my experience, they do not last well when being used (as opposed to being ornaments).
