The team did a great job, it took a little longer than expected, but that’s construction in New York City. William did a great job finding the right materials and fixtures.

Project: Apartment Combination & Gut Renovation (150 W 79th St) Timeline: May 19th – Nov 14th We hired KBR Design & Build for a pretty massive undertaking—combining units into a single 1,200 SF home. If you've ever dealt with NYC co-ops or pre-war buildings, you know how stressful this can be, but Noam and Yosi have a really solid operation. The biggest thing for us was the peace of mind. KBR is a well-established company with an actual, permanently staffed office. Knowing that Eleena (Project Coordinator) was there during business hours to handle the logistics, and that we weren't just chasing a contractor on a cell phone, was huge. They’re clearly in this for the long haul. Our Project Manager, Will, was the one making it happen on the ground. He managed a very technical scope, including: Full MEP Overhaul: They didn't just move things around; they did a complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing update. This included a new multi-zone HVAC system, Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV), two new electrical load centers with all new branch circuits, and all new sanitary piping in the cinder concrete slab. Complex Flooring: We did hardwood throughout the whole place, and they were diligent about the subfloor acoustic underlayment, which was a strict requirement for our building. Superintendent Coordination: Will was great at working with our building super to keep things moving and ensure we stayed in compliance with all site protections. Michelle also did a great job helping us bridge the design gap between the two units so the final result felt like one cohesive home. If you want a team that can handle the high-stakes technical side of a Manhattan combination without disappearing on you, hire this crew.

This was my second bathroom renovation, and I had a positive experience with KBR. As with any renovation project, the quality is only as good as the the person doing the work. I experienced some issues with the tile and stone installation and details, but Andreas worked with the installers to make the corrections and improvements. I enjoyed working with the team there. Phil, Eleena, Michelle, and Andreas were all great and worked to make sure I wa happy with the finished product. I would recommend them highly.

We bought an apartment in Hell’s Kitchen and after much research selected KBR Design and Build to lay new floors and remodel the kitchen and bathroom. We knew little about the workings of NY condo ownership, so it was essential to have an experienced firm work with our building management to navigate the complicated process of submitting drawings, securing permits, and addressing legal and practical issues. KBR did this work effectively. Having a contractor and designer who worked well together in the same office made it possible for the design and renovation to be done in NYC while we were across the country. Early on, our designer Edison was most responsive in his almost daily communications. He presented us with choices based on what we were seeking and then helped us to finalize selections. The kitchen backsplash was his idea, and it is one of the prettiest aspects of the remodel. He also listened when we said we didn't like something he suggested and came back with something we did. There may have been some measurement issues along the way but given the distance it is hard to know exactly what went wrong, and in the end, everything was resolved to our satisfaction. But the lead contractor Chris O is really why this is a 5 star review. From the moment he was assigned to our project, nearly all concerns we had were addressed quickly and things went smoothly. We are VERY picky, and he made sure that every single thing on our punch list was attended to. All of the walls - even closets - were painted. When a subcontractor or worker was sloppy or forgot to do something (and this did happen) Chris made sure that they came back and made it right. We ordered very expensive custom kitchen cabinets that were not installed to our liking and Chris worked with the company to ensure that the work was redone properly, even being onsite when they returned to make certain it was right. He is a skilled communicator and good person who we enjoyed working with. He himself returned long after the work was complete to install door stops and quiet the shower door squeak. We ordered a custom shower drain cover which didn’t work with the existing drain, and Chris went the extra mile to have it machine fabricated so it would function correctly. The whole of the renovation took about a month or 6 weeks longer than what they estimated which seemed like a win given how renovations often go. We love the apartment and the work that KBR did for us.

We recently worked with KBRNY on a full gut renovation of our condo in DUMBO, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, their professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to delivering a truly high-end result were evident. The process was seamless thanks to their well-coordinated team. At the end of our project we were very pleased with the work of Chris and Nidhi. These 5 stars are for them. In full honesty and transparency - our bathroom reno project with KBR as a whole got off to a rocky start. There were unexpected costs, delays, and gaps in communication. But once Chris was assigned to us as our new project manager, we felt much more secure in the project direction. His customer care and attention to detail ensured a much smoother project. And the designer Nidhi helped guide us through many design decisions along the way, both large and small. And was a great communicator throughout. Our bathroom turned out beautiful in the end. If you go with KBR - ask for these two!

KBR recently finished a full renovation of my kitchen and I couldn't be happier with the result. I have a small galley kitchen and KBR helped me create a space that feels more open, welcoming, and usable. I had a general idea of the direction I wanted to go and KBR's assigned me a designer, Nidhi, who helped me choose the right materials and colors. The work was done on time and the quality is great. KBRNY recently finished a complete gut renovation of my two-bedroom apartment. The last time the apartment was touched was 35 years ago, when the sponsor did a sloppy job preparing the initial coop offering. Absolutely everything needed to be undone and redone: useless soffits removed, plumbing re-routed so that the floors could be leveled, subfloors replaced, staircase replaced, walls replaced so pocket doors could be installed, complete electrical upgrade, the works. We’re all pleased and not a little surprised with the complete transformation of the apartment. Significant amounts of space and light were gained, and everything is both functional and beautiful now. I knew the finished product would be very polished. KBR has already done two complete apartment renovations in my building that were beautifully finished. I knew the quality of their work going in and was excited to have them reimagine my space. The entire team got involved at some point, but particular thanks needs to go to the designer, Jayani Ranasinghe, for understanding what I needed and wanted from the apartment. She guided me through all the decisions that needed to be made, and offered suggestions that I’m very happy with. In particular her lighting, tile, and kitchen reconfiguration suggestions are making me very happy, and the way all the components work together is very satisfying. And the bathroom is stunning. The project manager, Will Carillo, made sure work was always happening. Construction people, electricians, plumbers, and everyone else were always present, with Will making sure their work was the best it could be. I very much appreciated his attention to detail, pointing out things I never would have noticed on my own. He’s continued to show up to make sure I’m happy with how everything came out. As I saw with everyone involved, he wanted to make sure I got the very best result, for which I’m grateful. In spite of the constant activity in the apartment, the project still took more than twice as long as what had been planned. Now that we’re at the end of the project and I see how much work was involved, I wonder why anyone would have suggested the impractical timeline I was given. Stress from the contract affected not only me, but also everyone on the team trying to get me back into the apartment as quickly as possible. My only regret from this project is how much unnecessary stress was placed on the team and on me by the wishful thinking in the original timeline. In spite of all the stresses, the results are more than what I could have expected. It’s a real pleasure to live in such a beautiful and functional space. Everyone who sees the transformation is stunned by the results. This couldn’t have happened if everyone on the team wasn’t committed to delivering the best possible results to me. I’m grateful to all of them for their care and attention. I can’t believe I get to live here now.

We had our second floor apartment redesigned by KBR back in September 2020. They took over 9 months to complete the renovations on tiny 500 sq. It went on till May 2021. Endless delays, procrastination & poor execution . Regardless, we put up with them because it was the COVID era and things were tough for everyone. Fast forward now in summer 2024, the flooring in my daughter’s room started to SWELL! . We reached out to them for an assessment and review . They sent a fat bill and asked us to remember “warranty” may not help as it’s past 5 years?? 2021 to 2024 is 5 years ? & it’s wear and tear. Not sure How could the flooring swell due to wear and tear. Just take a look at the pictures, they speak for themselves. Further , I was told to take down the review and only then - they would come to fix the issue. Want to warn people about what they are signing up for!

Andreas and his team were great. They were incredibly accommodating and even finished ahead of schedule. We are extremely happy with how our project turned out and will definitely use them for future projects.

Overall, my experience with KBr was excellent. I was anxious because of a leak that happened just prior to the renovations, however, the team was able to accommodate repairs and the renovations. They were able to take care of all the complicated needs involved in a co-op renovation. In particular, the PM, Andreas was fantastic. He kept me appraised throughout the process, was easy to reach, and responded quickly when I needed follow up. He was one of the best parts of the experience. Eleena the project coordinator was also very receptive. Kept me updated. I am very happy with the overall finished work and would use them again.

I couldn't have been happier to have choosen KBR. They are an experienced, highly professional organization with a team that was a pleasure to work with and performed well through every step of totally renovating a kitchen and updating a bathroom in a NYC studio apartment. It began with a site visit by Phill (Sensitive Information Hidden) who provided an estimate the very next day. After an agreement was signed, the entire team visited the site to discuss various aspects of the design. Eleena Vehap dealt with the building's management and her personable and cooperative manner in response to various requests helped to get the permission to proceed. Shania (Sensitive Information Hidden), a designer, was a joy to work with. She made great choices, was open to discussing options and provided the detailed architectual drawings. She was always available to discuss any matter and was clearly invested in realizing the best design outcome. Will (Sensitive Information Hidden), the project manager, was instrumental in coordinating the electrical, plumbing and construction work which enabled the process to move seamlessly forward. The actual construction was expertly done by Eno and his assistant, Pablo. They showed up consistently and worked quickly to complete the project. That there was never a significant problem in this complicated process is a testament to the professionalism of the company and their great team.

I hired KBR via Sweeten and right from the beginning of the process I was impressed by their professionalism. Right after engaging with them, I was invited to their office for a project review and received my estimate. KBR provided a fair and accurate quote, plus provided me with estimated materials costs which allowed me to properly budget for the project. Our interior designer, Shania Dias was by far the star of the show. She helped me pick out the perfect materials and then worked to design an amazing kitchen and expansion that ably took into consideration some of the unique architectural quirks in my apartment. During the course of the renovation, she regularly stopped in to check on the progress of the work and made sure to answer any questions promptly. Honestly, she was the best part of the entire process. Our project manager, Will Carrillo, was also very organized and worked directly with our building and superintendent to make sure construction could proceed on time. We had some communication bumps in the road but overall he proved himself to be a solid partner. Will also made sure that when some of the subcontract work was not completed to specifications, that it was corrected promptly. The final product ended up being exactly what I wanted and I would highly recommend KBR for your next renovation!

We are very satisfied with the high quality of KBR's work product. The construction crew executed to the letter of our plans and stuck to the estimated schedule. They also did a great job of receiving, inspecting, installing, and communicating with us about the materials that we purchased ourselves. The team of people on our job, especially Shania, were extremely helpful and friendly. Shania patiently helped hone the design and provided many different options for our consideration, always keeping our budget in mind. We very much appreciated her careful attention to detail and ability to put the full picture together to provide helpful advice when asked. We would work with KBR again, 100%.

I am extremely satisfied with the work and professionalism of KBR during my kitchen renovation. Edison Liao (Designer) and Sal Vines/Colin Devlin (Project Managers) were a pleasure to work with, and I am grateful to them for their ideas and efforts throughout my project. All were professional, communicative and worked well with my building's superintendent throughout the entire renovation. I certainly will use KBR for my future renovation projects.

We are pleased to say that our family can not get enough of our new bathroom. We had the pleasure of working with Ms. Daisha as our designer who went above and beyond to ensure that every “must have” in our bathroom was met and the end result did not disappoint. The space has become so much more functional and beautiful so we can not thank her enough. It was great to have Mr. Andreas as the project manager overseeing the project ! He and his team did not rush this project and took their time to complete each task ensuring that each element was done correctly ! Peter Zmujdzin and his team are nothing but top rate pros. While doing a complicated renovation for friends, they took the time to prepare, wrap and check an appliance that I was repurposing. They met with my movers several times and made the transfer seamless. What a wonderful team to be so thoughtful and thorough when I wasn't even their direct client. In fact, an early text from Peter said "No problem, we are full service, even if that means helping get a refrigerator to a friend." What a breath of fresh air in a world where I am so often chasing the teams I am paying. We will be doing a renovation shortly and KBR will be my first call!

Ever want a company that you can literally give the keys to your apartment and tell the Project manager the issues / concerns along with the designer (item chooser and designer) 1x and have them complete a task that would take appx 3 weeks in less than 3 days -->but with the professionalism, courtesy and quality you expect? ANDREAS spearheaded the project of completely overhauling my master bathroom floor, including new drain, new cement fixing, water leak issue piping, retiling and grouting to perfection. We had a bad leak caused by the building and Michelle was in charge of the design of the tiles and selecting our tiles based on our aesthetic. Michelle was brilliant once again and once she secured the tiles, Andreas was unbelievably focused, clean and concise about the work. Andreas was on point where you had to tell him only 1x what the issue was and then him and his team finished and completed the job to a degree of quality and timing that we are so proud and pleased with. Andreas made sure that my apt was cleaned everyday since I have a 5 year old and did not leave tools or equipment anywhere while sweeping and actually cleaning evey time they finished for the day. You need to go with KBR for any and all renovations albeit small ones like this (KBR did a full gut renovation of my current apt 3 years back but I needed this bathroom fix). They are not petty and actually communicate with you directly and not go to another project that is more lucrative if the case. I felt like family once again, and I want wait to expand into another apartment so they can once again bring my dreams into reality!

KBR was terrifically accommodating from start to finish. This was a very challenging complete reno in a very old brownstone in Greenwich Village. The end result is spectacular, with excellent workmanship. Photos available on request.

I am changing my review because unfortunately months later, I am still dealing with permits and asked for payments that I should not be dealing with. I am extremely frustrated and while KBR did some great work, they were slow to communicate and help when they weren't asking for a paycheck.

KBR helped with the renovation of my apartment, and it turned out beautiful. Later on, I needed the tub replaced, Peter and his team did an excellent job. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely the best! I have renovated several times in the past, and as experienced as I am, could never avoid the “twice the price, twice the time” cliche’. KBR proves that saying wrong. They were phenomenal in every way from start to finish. On time for appointments, expert team, precise estimates, innovative ideas, expert craftsmen… Most importantly, perfect, stunning finished project. Done precisely on time, and at exact cost projected. I will only use KBR for future projects. Have Matthew supervise, he’s genius!

Finding a reputable design team with value and complete professionalism in NYC can be so hard, but boy am I glad I found KBR. Creativity and design is not my area of expertise but KBR made everything easy from start to finish and I couldn’t be happier with my new open concept kitchen. The team knocked out walls, created a design for my kitchen that I fell in love with immediately. KBR had a plan and came to me with ideas that I seriously would’ve never thought of it. They installed kitchen cabinets, installed my new fridge and stove, mounted a microwave above the stove, installed lights inside the ceiling. The kitchen now feels bigger, there’s more light, and it’s seriously my favorite place to be now. I was so glad to hear they had a Florida office too because the contractors there did some work in my Biscayne Bay condo. All in all it was a great experience to work with KBR & if I ever need more remodeling done, either here in NYC or FL, KBR will undoubtedly by my guys. 100% recommend!

Working with KBR was great. Renovating in NYC can be a daunting task but the team at KBR were responsible, attentive and always provided timely updates. The designer I worked with Patti did an amazing job designing my kitchen and gave me a few design options to chose from. It was my first time remodeling and she was extremely patient with me as I changed my mind a few different times. Alex, the project manager was always available and kept the project on time despite a few hiccups and unexpected setbacks. Memli was extremely personable and ensured that all the work being done was high quality. The rest of the guys on site were always respectful and worked really hard. Giselle was the KBR designer when we gut-renovated our apartment prior to moving into it. The project took longer than anticipated, but throughout the process, Giselle was communicative, engaged, and always an advocate for what we wanted done. We never had to doubt that she truly cared about providing us with the best experience!

KBR helped us with a major update to our master bathroom and kitchen. JP was wonderful to work with and we love everything about the design of the rooms. Alyssa and Rob helped us get the condo board approval for the renovations quickly. Matt and Zaim and Argo and the crew did a great job executing the project on a tight timeline. A special shout out for Bes on the crew for the tile work including a unique hexagonal kitchen tile layout. Since the project finished, KBR has been very responsive to coming and taking care of the touch ups that inevitably come up in a renovation project, and we appreciate that. Thanks KBR! Highly recommend KBR for all renovation projects. We gut-renovated our kitchen and with the help of JP, our designer, and Paul, our go-to guy on the job, they made our dream kitchen come true. JP overlooked the whole design process along with selecting materials and advising on best practice. We’re thankful and amazed the whole team at KBR pulled through during this pandemic!

We renovated a whole master bedroom suite of a Brooklyn townhouse (moved a bathroom to another room and added closets) and we couldn't be happier with the final product. KBR, specifically Giselle Ulmo and Matthew Walker, did a great job. Giselle was the designer and was very helpful drawing up plans for the project and giving us options for materials, tiles, faucets, fixtures, etc... And Matthew was the project manager and was great at communicating with me every step of the way. He was always more than happy to correct any mistakes and make sure that everything came out exactly the way we wanted it to.

Giselle Ulmo was my designer and boy did I put her to work. I could not have asked for a better person to work with. She was very patient and took her time explaining the drawings and choices. I never felt like she was annoyed or agitated if our meetings ran long. For a tiny studio, I had a lot of demands regarding layout and she made it happen. There was one time that I changed my mind about something major with the kitchen layout after the order had been placed. I felt so bad creating a surge in work for her but I knew my choice was better and I would have been unhappy with the original layout. Giselle worked some magic and made my dream kitchen a reality which I’m certain took many more hours of her time than I deserved. George Horinek was my project manager. He kept my stress at ease and made sure I felt that if something wasn’t right he would make it right. There was a disagreement between my superintendent and George about some issues. It actually felt comforting when KBR and other staff shared conflicting opinions because it made me feel people cared about the outcome as opposed to being indifferent. There were some mistakes and setbacks, but George made sure they were all fixed. There was only one time George and I peacefully disagreed on what I believed was inadequate, i.e. placement of the one-piece stone backsplash. I elevated the issue and after he, Giselle, Billy and Noam dissected the matter a solution was found that was 100% what I wanted. The solution was also implemented that very same day! If there’s one bummer I’m left with it’s that I now have some loud water hammer in the bathroom even though it was not there before and there’s insulation in the wall now that was not there before. They did examine this closely by removing the toilet and medicine cabinet, and adding more arrestors, but I can only wonder whether or not it could be mitigated more if spots were still reachable. It’s a disappointing mystery but it’s outweighed by the greater outcome. Giselle and George put a massive amount of effort into this project and I 100% believe they took the mission of making me happy to action. In fact, everyone at KBR I felt wanted to make me happy and happy I am. Alyssa is a wonderful slice of positivity that provides a perfect face for the company and Rob is always plugged in and answers emails promptly. I had to remove one star. 10 months after completion, I emailed PM with a question about warranty length if an issue arose such as the up-swing cabinet door that just fell off or even one hour of touchups after it had a year to settle (which PM suggested during production). At some point it became my problem I just wasn’t sure about the cutoff contractually. I never got a response after a month so I emailed the designer and also never got a response. I really do love the apartment and couldn’t have done it without them. I maybe wasn’t the easiest client, but sad feeling they closed the book on me.

We bought our first NYC place last year in a wonderful pre-war building in the UWS after years of renting. The apartment had everything we were looking for, but the kitchen and the bathroom were in pretty bad shape so we knew we'd have to do a gut renovation of both those rooms. We did our due diligence in searching for a company to do both the design and the buildout and decided on KBR. A very smart move! From the beginning, we knew we were in the hands of professionals who we could trust with this project. Ally took our ideas and added her own and created a great design that would work for our space and what we wanted to do with it. But not only did she create the design, she stayed with the project from beginning to end, and made sure our vision was being realized every step of the way. Doug, our project manager, worked tirelessly to ensure the project kept on schedule in spite of the twists of turns of working in an older building with electrical and plumbing from early in another century and walls that weren't always straight anymore. I appreciated how both Ally and Doug rolled with the punches and adapted to all the unexpected challenges. Again, we felt we were in excellent hands all the time. We especially appreciated the expertise and hard work of Eddie, who was the day to day contractor on site, from the first day of demo to the final touches on the last day. No matter what new challenges our project threw his way, his only comment was "We'll figure it out." And he always did! Now we have a brand new, stylish kitchen and bathroom and it feels like a completely new apartment and that we finally have a home in New York.

KBR is a 5-star design and build firm. My team (Michelle and Patti (designers), George (project manager) and Andrew (construction) earned my trust, appreciation and loyalty. I cannot sing their praises enough. I interviewed more than 5 contractors, designers and design/build firms and Michelle of KBR was the only person to come up with a design that let me have an eat-in kitchen. That was a game changer, and only the beginning. It took me a while to find my style/design "voice". KBR (Michelle and Patti) spent hours with me at showrooms and on the internet giving me the time, guidance and care that I needed. I so appreciate Patti helping me to blend functionality with style and find my design voice so that I have the kitchen and bathroom of my dreams. Add to that Andrew's impeccable workmakship, precision and artisan's eye and George's dependability, experience, and stand by his word quality, and you have a very satisifed customer. Michelle, Patti, George and Andrew were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend KBR.

We had such a wonderful experience with KBR! We are first time renovators and were very overwhelmed. Our designer Ally worked with us to understand our style, and then created multiple ideas to help us maximize our space. She found so much hidden storage, which was a HUGE help for us, living in a two bedroom apartment with two small kids. She also recommended replacing the baseboards in the apartment, which for a small cost made a massive massive impact on the overall look of the space. We completely gutted the kitchen and two bathrooms. Ally designed a brand new kitchen, updated one bathroom, built out a new closet in the primary bedroom and COMPLETELY reimagined our primary bathroom including breaking through into a closet, adding a huge shower and a new double vanity. Through no fault of their own, we signed on to work with KBR right before Covid exploded and construction stopped throughout the city. We continued to work with Ally and KBR to get our designs perfect and all of our materials selected so that they would be ready to start as soon as our building would allow it. In a very uncertain time, we knew we were in good hands with Ally and KBR. Once the project actually started, we were impressed with the communication from the team. Our onsite project managers Matt and then later Doug were frequently in touch with us. We had weekly onsite meetings with Matt/Doug and Ally to check on the progress and were also sent frequent progress update emails. The project was finished on time in about three months. Our doormen and super all commented on how much work they were able to get done in that time frame. We absolutely love our new apartment. Thank you so much Ally, Matt, Doug and KBR!

KBR completed a gut renovation on our apartment. While no project in NYC comes without some unforeseen issues, KBR followed through and we're very happy with the end result. Billy at KBR went above and beyond to ensure that we were completely satisfied, including KBR's assistance in helping us deal with not 1, but 2 separates leaks from an upstairs apartment which involved helping us identify the leaks in both instances and restoring our apartment after the damage that resulted, long after their work was complete. Billy is the man!

We hired KBR to build a bathroom in our Brooklyn duplex. Ji Sun Park (JP) was amazing to work with on the design. She clearly listened and observed what we liked and the direction we wanted to go. She was happy to meet us at showrooms, offer advice and share recommendations and sources. She kept our basic design concept and budget on track to make sure we’d end up with the type of space we envisioned, giving us honest feedback and input on decisions. She did numerous drawings to make sure all materials were installed in the appropriate location, from lighting to how the tiles would line up (something we never would have thought was necessary but are so happy she did). Matthew Walker was our project manager. We had several hiccups along the way, including replacing the first foreman at our request. Through each situation, including several plumbing challenges, Matthew was patient and professional, working with us to resolve the issue, even if it meant reopening the wall to properly place the plumbing (which happened more than once). When problems arose and it became apparent that closer supervision was required, Matthew was on site daily and communicated even more frequently. He not only offered some creative solutions, but also fixed several long-languishing issues in our home with his terrific crew of diligent workers. While the project did take longer than expected, the end result is everything we hoped for and more.

I cannot say enough great things about KBR. They were professional, timely, they did excellent work and they did it ON BUDGET! We hired KBR to gut renovate our kitchen and two bathrooms. They also reworked our electrical boxes, added recessed lighting, replaced doors and painted. In the design process we worked with Ally Lewis who was a pleasure. I supplied Ally with a lot of inspiration of what I wanted in each space. For each room I gave her a color palette and a couple of non-negotiable design elements and Ally came back with great choices. Also since I was swamped with work she made the process easy offering me a variety of selections and almost always there was something I liked. I was thrilled to not have to hunt down cabinets and light fixtures. Ally purchased and coordinated delivery—amazing! If something didn’t work then they returned it and gave us a credit. The process was seamless. For the construction we worked with George as our project manager. Again we were thrilled. He frequently came to the apartment to meet with us and show us progress and next steps. If we had an issue, we texted him and the problem was always solved. Also the workers Were very professional, conscientious and safe which was important because my children and I were all at home with the workers due to the pandemic. Our project took place during the pandemic and everyone had masks and distanced. I always felt safe. I can’t say enough good things about KBR!!!!

We recently completed a master bedroom/bathroom renovation with KBR. Working with Ji Sun Park (JP) as our interior designer on the project was wonderful! She listened well to our initial ideas and inspirational direction. Her designs and samples perfectly reflected the direction we were looking for. During the renovation, both JP and our project manager, George Horinek, were exceptionally diligent in keeping track of the progress of the renovation. JP kept in constant contact with us via phone, email and in person and immediately solved problems when they arose. George made sure the project stayed on track. He visited the site weekly and gave us updates on its progress. The majority of the project was completed on time (apart from a replacement closet door that took a few additional weeks, but that was out of KBR's hands). We felt everything was completed with a very high level of quality. Overall, we are extremely satisfied and would recommend highly KBR. We plan on using them for any of our future renovations!

I can't help but rave about my experience with KBR on my kitchen renovation! Sara, Ally, and Matt were very professional, easy to work with, and always receptive to my ideas or thoughts. This team was unbelievably responsive throughout the entire process (I can't stress this enough - SO RESPONSIVE). Ally's eye for design was exceptional - and that can be seen in the final product - a showstopper of a kitchen. As for budget and construction - you always hear about construction horror stories and massive budget overruns, but I can say the full transparency of costs and expectations from Sara early in the planning process, and Matt's amazing construction management skills, resulted in a seamless and on budget project! I couldn't be more pleased with this team and the final outcome of my kitchen! I would HIGHLY recommend KBR!

We had our bathroom fully renovated by the KBR team and kitchen backsplash replaced. This was my first big renovation project so I never know what to expect. I give KBR 5 stars because the beautiful work they produce, their promise to stand on what they built through warranties and much improved communications towards the end of the project. Throughout the process after demolition, KBR team, Ji Park & Slavko were attentive and KBR subcontractor was professional. Slavko, in particular, was very nice, capable, and professional throughout the process. He made sure that my old sliding door can be reused and installed them correctly (hence, saved me thousands $), he made great suggestion for the niche that made it more functional, he painted and fixed up bunch of stuff around completion to make sure everything looks great. After completion, he even came to fixed the vanity cabinet. This makes me believe that KBR really stands by the warranties, which is a huge plus!! Would I use KBR again on my next remodeling project? Sure, why not!

We had our kitchen and master bathroom renovated with KBR. We had an overall very good experience working with them. They have a professional and dedicated team. Thanks to designer Ally Lewis and project manager Petar Krsikapa, who were very helpful on this project, and their professional workers did an excellent job. Noam, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure that we were completely satisfied. We are very pleased with the outcome, and would definitely recommend them.

This is our second time working with KBR and it went as smoothly as the first time. We bought a condo to rent out and it needed to be gut renovated. We worked with Ally at KBR to come up with a clean, modern design to make a dated interior look contemporary. Ally came up with terrific sketches of the space very quickly, but she left no stone unturned. She was fast, yet thorough. When a bathroom vanity we ordered became delayed by 4 weeks, she found us a replacement in about a day, so that the project would not get delayed. In fact, the replacement vanity was even better than the original. Slavko from KBR managed the work and was at the site nearly every day. The craftsmanship he and his team delivered showed that they cared about the work they were doing. Most importantly, they were punctual about the timeline and deliverables. They started and finished without any delay. I recommend KBR wholeheartedly, especially Ally and Slavko.

Words cannot describe the incredible working relationship my wife and myself achieved with KBR. As renovation is quite a tedious process in NYC, I was very careful to narrow down my choices to recommendations from friends as well those organizations I heavily researched. I ultimately went with KBR because after meeting with them on multiple occasions, the confidence as well never saying "no" with the insanity that I wanted achieved in my new apartment was brought to life. It was brought to life well prior to having me sign, in that they were very helpful with initial drawings, initial plans, and of course the initial step by step process that would be achieved from beginning to the end of the renovation. It was complex and extraordinarily difficult because this was a full gut renovation from the floors, to new plumbing and brand new electrical. I was truly fortunate to have KBRs top designer Michelle and their number one project manager Petar attached to my job. Michelle was so receptive to our design aesthetic as well our always changing minds / ideas of how to open the kitchen and the overall layout and so forth--Michelles patience as well brilliance in design while never sacrificing individuality nor compromising on any aesthetic was very rewarding. Michelle even went as far to design 4 different layouts of kitchen designs and would not settle until she personally met with the architect on numerous occasions. Michelle's incredible aesthetic was invaluable as she also knew certain tiles and woods and other materials that would represent our style cumulatively. Michelle always recommended some of the best materials, not the most expensive, but the right ones and it is simply marvelous to have a designer that has your best interests in mind and not just spending money needlessly. Her design aesthetic was never compromised and the home she designed for us does not feel like an apartment, rather a true home. Michelle met with our architect on numerous occasions as well visited the site every week for hours at a time to ensure all the designs were coherent and aesthetically pleasing. Michelle knew that we wanted an award winning apartment, one that would stand the test of time both aesthetically and technically, and Michelle made it happen for us. Sweet, kind, endearing, and brilliant are a few words to describe Michelle's continued dedication. Petar to describe in one word is simply brilliant. It is one thing to have a project manager, who you know, manages the project ie instructs workers what to do while he focuses on other projects. Petar not only instructed and directed every team member what to do, Petar actually did the work too in helping the workers understand the process as well the technical aspects of how to do mostly everything. Petar never strayed from our home and was on site everyday for 4 months, working until the last hour my building would allow. Can you imagine a project manager working with every worker ensuring a seamless and easy to understand full gut renovation? That is simply outstanding follow through and dedication. Petar knows how to put together an apartment from scratch, and would never settle on anything or anywhere in the apartment. Petar even told the electrician what he wanted in the apartment and how to align the wires for a a seamless flow and how to put in walls. The precision accuracy and detail that Petar followed was ingenious because to gut renovate a 1300 square foot apartment from the studs, is very difficult. Petar made decisions on his own because he knew how to do electrical, plumbing, floors etc and his technical knowledge is incredible. It is the best when you have a PM that literally watches, works, instructs, directs and makes decisions on their own after knowing our needs, but to move the project along in a seamless ,clean, and expedited manner is quite rewarding. Likewise, Petar would make sure the site was clean and all the materials were not damaged and perfectly done. For example all the tiles, shower doors, wood floors, door handles, door frames, a million and one things Petar would ask me or make his own decisions in knowing it is exactly what we wanted and where to put them. Organization was key since there were many moving parts! Petar would take my phone calls 24.7 as well text messages and always reply to me daily with progress, imagery, questions, comments and concerns (I travel 7 months out of the year for work). Petar spoke to me daily and pushed everyone to their best ability. I am not easy to deal with in that I expect better than ever perfection and a job to be done on a 10 out of 10 level. This was an 11 out of 10... Petar and Michelle were on call, on point, and damn rockstars throughout this arduous process. Michelle and Petar created an award winning home for my wife, son and myself. There were many other stars as well such as Yosi, Noam, Rob, Billy, Alex, throughout the process. I challenged KBR and they certainly delivered beyond any and all expectations. The owners were very receptive to our dreams and once again brought it into reality. KBR was beyond fair in pricing and their relationships with all the vendors for materials is very beneficial. Fun, exciting, and sensational, i look forward using their skills on my next project forthcoming shortly!

The dedication, hard work, and commitment by the team at KBR turned my dreams of a new bathroom into reality. Spearheaded by their designer Giselle Umo, the team always responded thoroughly to all my design plans and requests. During my introductory meeting, Project Coordinator Rob Stevenson met with me at my home to review my wishes for a new bathroom which was followed up with a more extensive meeting when he comprehensively explained the extent of the work, a line-item budget, expected labor and material costs for the project, as well as any potential stumbling blocks. Then I had an initial meeting with the designer Giselle Umo during which she listened carefully to my wishes and did her best to transform them into a design concept and blueprint. During subsequent meetings, she presented me with multiple samples and design suggestions (tiles, wood samples, finishes, light fixtures, faucets, pulls, toilets, tubs, etc.) that perfectly matched my design aesthetic. I had a particularly vision in mind for my renovation and Giselle steered me to choices that perfectly reflected my ideas. Giselle was able to put my design plan onto paper, ordered everything I wanted, and saw all phases of work through to completion during every week of construction. The motto of KBR should be “We want you to be happy” because everyone from Giselle, project managers Alex Morita and Billy Dixon, and all the workmen always responded to any of my requests with that simple phrase. No request however miniscule was ever denied. Every week Giselle and Alex or Billy walked me through the progress of the project and what would be accomplished over the next week. They patiently answered all my questions and faithfully ensured that every detail of my renovation was attended to. KBR was terrific at always responding to my concerns--no matter how miniscule--and made sure to always follow-through on all of my requests. Giselle earned my trust by always advocating on my behalf whenever there was a snag with suppliers or a problem needed to be resolved. If there was ever an issue about anything from supply problems to installation or something above and beyond was required, I could always count on Giselle to solve any problem. Throughout the weeks of renovation, my project was always treated as a priority by KBR--even though Giselle and Alex were indubitably working on other, much larger projects--but I was already treated as if mine were their only project and concern. KBR is a professional, reliable firm committed to high-quality work. I will definitely be working with KBR again on my kitchen renovation.

We (couple with a 2.5 year-old moving into a small 2BR) went with KBR for a gut renovation project. It was a sponsor sale—this particular apartment had not been renovated since the building was built in 1920s. The appliances included a pre-war gas-powered stove in which the oven was located above the range. The outlets and fusebox I may have seen on reruns of TV shows that were running when TV first became a thing. The point is, it needed a renovation. During our initial meetings, Rob Stevenson (the Project Coordinator) met with us a few times and explained in great detail the labor and expected material costs for the project, as well as some potential pitfalls. We requested more line items for a few general bullets on the estimate, and Rob rapidly provided them. The level of detail in the estimate inspired confidence. Our initial meeting with Ally Lewis (the Designer) also went well. Extremely energetic, she was on time for each of these early meetings (as well as all subsequent ones) with samples and excellent, high-quality solutions at reasonable cost for things like tiles, countertops, cabinets, floor options, wall options, light fixtures, yadda yadda yadda. We didn’t have a complete vision for our apartment, and really needed help. Ally’s creativity and aesthetic judgment was extremely necessary in getting things going in a reasonable time frame. She was fast—and it was not like we did not change our minds on things. Particularly in the kitchen and bathroom—Ally transformed them in our eyes with a focus more on possibilities than constraints. She listened to our preferences and came back to us with reasonable options that fit the bill. As the project went forward, there was an issue with our co-op’s architect’s review (permits) that threatened to delay the renovation. Alex Laniewska (Administrative Support) put together a successful response that obviated the need for a higher level of permits that saved us weeks if not months. Rob’s claims of transparency turned out to be true. I kept a spreadsheet of costs etc. and occasionally checked costs for certain items, and not once did I conclude that there was a real discrepancy. The final cost was within dollars of my own calculation. There was a turnover of project managers halfway through, and Slavko Bosnjak took right over where the previous one had left off and helped us with some important details—we enjoyed working with him. The real star of the show was Ally Lewis. We have been living in this apartment for a week now and especially her recommendations that we were not sure about at first have turned out great. The recessed lighting adding just a few inches to existing beams is marvelous. The kitchen and bathroom are great—a marriage of form and function.

Ji Park, the designer assigned to our kitchen remodel, was a pleasure to work with. Integrating our preferences with her creativity and expertise, Ji Park designed a kitchen that we are proud of. Ji Park helped us select the right materials to achieve the look we wanted. She diffused any potential stressful situation with her engaging personality. The entire KBR team was a pleasure to work with.

KBR is an excellent firm, and I'm confident no other firm in the city could have done a better job with our kitchen. Our project was supposed to be a small kitchen remodel, along with a hardwood floor refinish and painting the walls throughout the apartment. Working with Petar, the project manager, and Ally, the designer, was very easy and fruitful. Petar was reliably knowledgeable about the project and I am confident he did the best he could to provide accurate, honest advice about issues when they came up. He earned my trust by consistently advocating on my behalf when the less-than-reliable subcontractors needed cajoling. He is helpful and takes pride in doing good work. Ally has a great eye for detail, a really heartening can-do attitude, and a hilarious amount of enthusiasm. She really knows design, and our apartment is significantly more beautiful because we listened to her input. KBR in general was great at communicating and has a good system for invoicing and change orders. They're a steady, reasonable, and generally fine firm. All in all, KBR is a solid, reliable firm. I am confident any issues we had with them would have been issues with most other firms. Ally and Petar definitely made an impression on my wife and I, and we would be happy to work with them in the future.

Working with Ji Sun Park was a pleasure. She helped me with critical decision making and her follow up was amazing. She kept on top of the project at all times.

This was a true transformation! My kitchen not only looks fantastic but the design has made the entire apartment more functional/livable. My real estate agent has told me it has increase my home value significantly. More importantly, it makes me happy.

Our renovation consisted of many things: 1. turning our 2 bedroom apartment into a 3 bedroom apartment. 2 Complete gut renovation of one of the bathrooms. 3 Removing some walls around the kitchen and elsewhere. 4. new lighting with electric work in all rooms. 5. New coat of paint everywhere and new door hardware throughout the apartment. KBR was really Amazing. We actually got numerous quotes and KBR was not the highest and not the lowest quote. What really sold us is their professionalism and straightforward down to business attitude. I have heard horror stories about projects taking way longer and going way over budget. Our renovation was exactly on time and went almost week by week with the plan given to us at the beginning of the project. We also did not go over budget! Also, the finished work looks amazing. Petar was the GC in charge of our project. He was always available and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend and would use again in the future.

My floors, walls and ceilings suffered flood damage. KBR project manager, Petar Krsikapa, is excellent! The place looks fabulous. The work progressed on schedule, with precision and beauty. I cannot say enough. I chose well.

I worked with KBR Design & Build for my bathroom remodel and had a very positive experience. I have what could only be described as quirky but sophisticated taste which the full project team enthusiastically embraced resulting in a unique yet highly functional finished product. Our bathroom had tiny dimensions that posed design challenges requiring us to prioritize our functional requirements. The team worked closely with us to ensure we were maximizing our space, which was a top consideration for such a small bathroom. Our shower, which previously felt cramped and cave-like, is now bright and airy! Honestly, I can hardly believe this is the same space. Finally, when it comes to price, I prioritized the one-stop-shopping that KBR provides. This was a must have for me. Their product is on the higher end of the price scale, however in return they handle EVERY aspect of the execution - from completing the paperwork through the final build out. Given the results the cost was well worth it. I will be working with them again.

They are not the cheapest on the street but the quality of the work done is good. The architect and project manager do pay attention to the small details. The project managers and architects on my project were very professional. Considering this was my first apartment the architect helped design and plan the changes so that my ideas could be approved by my building architects. Once the project was approved I had regular meetings with the project manager and architect, they mostly kept things on track and kept me updated with constant updates. They were able to handle any unforeseen issues well. My project manager and architects did change in the middle of the project which did disrupt things a bit, but overall it was kept to a minimum. I would definitely would work with them for any future projects.

I've been in business in New York City for 30 plus years and I can safely say that the process of combining a two bedroom apartment with a studio in an NYC Coop, is likely one of the most difficult undertaking one can imagine.....a host of parties must be satisfied, .DOB , Board of Directors, Building Managers, Building Super, Building Architect, fellow neighbors ... KRB Design & Build led by Billy Dixon, a Southerner with an extensive understanding of processes and materials, and ever more extensive people skills was able to complete the job on time, within budget, and at an exceptional high level of quality...

KBR recently completed a gut renovation of my one bedroom apartment. Whereas I did initially research my options with regard to this job, I still harbored significant skepticism, and worry that I would somehow become involved in a project that was either poorly executed, or one in which someone would somehow take advantage of my trust. KBR did an outstanding job in my home. As with any large project, there were obstacles along the way that had to be addressed. Each and every time problems arose, they were resolved. I think the most important thing I can say about working with everybody at KBR is that I have never encountered business people who were more honest, or who demonstrated greater integrity. These are individuals you can trust. They will do exactly as you want. Keep in mind, although I had my own ideas, their designers created something that was so much better, and so much more than I ever anticipated. Their input was invaluable. The folks at KBR will not take advantage, or disappoint. Yosi and Noam are both one of a kind, and they run a company in which everybody bends over backwards to give you what you want. They manage every aspect of a job personally, and take great pride in work that is well done. The people they employ are all committed and reliable. I have no reservation in giving KBR my highest, most sincere recommendation. They will exceed your expectation. I am so very grateful that I was fortunate enough to have found them.

I hired KBR Design & Build for my kitchen renovation. I discussed the job with three prospective contractors and ultimately went with KBR given the thorough description of their full service approach to renovation. I was sold! KBR capably managed the early administrative work, dealing with our NYC co-op and the department of buildings, supporting us to meet their lengthy requirements. They advised on budget, based on labor and material costs, and managed our expectations of project cost. When we finally got down to the real work of designing, gutting and re-building, Ally Lewis (designer) and Petar Krsikapa (project manager) were phenomenal to work with. They were everything I wanted in a contractor and more: responsive, attentive, patient, qualified and exceptional communicators. We were first time renovators, and they held our hands through design and technical decisions throughout the process. Everything went very smoothly, and even when there were minor hiccups (expected), Ally and Petar swiftly and transparently resolved them. When we started to reach our budget limit, both adapted to modifications that I proposed to ensure we would not go over budget. We now have the kitchen of our dreams, and I credit KBR Design & Build for this gift! The photos speak for themselves!

This project (1BR, 2bath) started off terrible with our first project manager: not present, misleading about work and pricing and provided no guidance or timeline on the steps towards completion, it set us back right from the start. After bringing this up to management, he was removed and we were assigned a new project manager to try and get us back on track (it is my understanding he is no longer with the company so you should have no issues here.) We were then assigned Jayani to manage, and after a few days of her wrapping her head around what was happening, things really started to take a turn for the positive. She laid out a time line and punch list for our entire project, as well as, set up weekly goals for us to meet and go over. She was at the site constantly and extremely responsive and dedicated to getting us back on track, which she did. If things we not going to be done as scheduled, which was very rare, she mentioned things up front and had a plan to get them corrected, but as I mentioned, we really started to see things getting completed and the project start coming together. She also seemed to have a very good working relationship with our head contractor, Andrew. I can not speak highly enough of Andrew. From the initial meeting you can tell he is experienced, talented and cares very much about the quality of his work. He provides suggestions, feedback and commentary about the work scope which I found extremely helpful - "this would work great, this might not look like you think" etc - he is very honest about what can be done and goes above and beyond to get things exactly as you want them. His day to day crew also does an A+ job: they showed up early! and kept a fairly clean work area which was critical as we were living in the space during the renovation. There was maybe one minor hiccup in terms of the construction (I would have even expected many of these) in which he contacted me and fixed immediately. There were times he and Jayani would face time me to get my opinion on a small detail in real time, before moving on, to make sure it was done to my liking. They really were all-stars. I am giving them a 5 star review even though the project had a bumpy start, it is only fair to assume if we had Jayani from the beginning we would have had no issues start to finish. The project was completed on time and the finish work is outstanding. I am confident if you have Jayani, Andrew and crew in your corner, you will be happy with the results. Also worth noting, Alex was in charge of all documents, paper work and dealing with my building management company in order to get the project moving. I don't think I spoke to her once and I mean that in the best of ways! She handled everything seamlessly, I never had to intervene once. I was cc'd on all emails, but she had everything under control at all times. Hope this helps and good luck with your projects!

We just wrapped up an extensive full gut renovation in a 1,400 sq. ft. 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom condo in Brooklyn with KBR. This was a really complex project spanning over several months and costing close to $200k. We redid the floors, bathrooms, kitchen, appliances, and various other smaller pieces. I am a particularly detail oriented person, as is my wife. We came into the project with some specific ideas we wanted to implement but also needed a lot of guidance given the scope of work. KBR was recommended to us from a friend of ours who did a smaller renovation project after their apartment was flooded. Throughout the project, KBR performed exceptionally. We have very high standards and are pleased to say KBR did very well. Having had some experience in the real estate finance industry, I can safely say construction is very tough stuff, especially in the myriad world of NYC shared apartment buildings. We started with a very detailed proposal that we developed with Sara over the course of 6 months while we simultaneously negotiated and closed on our apartment. Sara is top notch and incredibly patient, communicative, knowledgeable and detail oriented - I have email chains with her with over 100 emails in one thread alone. Developing the scope of work for such a large project and budgeting for that was complex. I appreciated the design and construction being coordinated together as that helped to streamline some of the decision making. As I'm sure others do too, we did speak to some other firms on our project. From a price standpoint, KBR was by no means the cheapest option but it also wasn't the most expensive proposal. However, this is a large investment into what is an even larger investment - your home and substantial portion of most people's net worth. KBR did work with us for a little flexibility so I appreciate that constructive mindset. So we decided to invest with KBR and it proved to be a good decision. All the proposals are electronic in PDF format so it's easy to track. Once we closed on the apartment and signed with KBR, we spent about a month or so on design. We worked with Giselle, who our friend had recommended. We did a bunch of onsites and talked A LOT over email and phone. We spent a lot of the design focus and time on our kitchen. Our kitchen was a nightmare to plan around given the existing construct, some limitations on space/plumbing and some very very complex ideas we had that we wanted to play out. I can say hands down Giselle is super creative and does not give compromise on putting in as much thought as possible into the inner workings of the design. We redid the kitchen cabinets, countertop, fixtures, sink, faucet, backsplash, everything basically. We did a ton of rev a shelf and creative drawers/pullouts/lazy susans to maximize the space - none of this was in the prior kitchen. but today as we live there it makes a massive difference. There is no way we would have thought about all these creative ideas and even when we were running into design restrictions, Giselle persevered through and pivoted around different solutions. To be clear, it all took time - a lot of that was us changing ideas around and adding more and more complexities and some of it was Giselle taking the time to research and develop ideas. We came into this project knowing that design will take time and often longer than planned so to us it was all an investment, not a problem like some silly people may assume. As you can see from the pictures, the kitchen is stunning and we receive a ton of compliments on it. What you don't see is that it's also very functional and that's the genius inside. As it relates to design elements for other parts of the project, we certainly spent a lot of time on those things like floor selection, bathroom vanity selection, some extremely tricky plumbing, etc. I am just highlighting the kitchen as it was truly a masterpiece. Once we settled most points on the design, Alex helped us navigate the approval process through our board, as well as with some additional requirements the board had stemming from our project. Again, very helpful to have all this in one firm and have all the communication via email/calls that they did on our behalf. Once we got our approval and got to the construction phase, things really got exciting to see our designs take life. Our project manager Jayani was/is an absolute rock star. I can't how many calls/emails/texts/in person meetings we did and I am sure we were 10x more demanding than most people. She's a trooper, super super organized with notes/numbered email lists every few days (at least every week) and weekly Friday checkins onsite. She was basically the quarterback that coordinated delivery, contractors, our feedback, communication, etc. I cannot emphasize how incredible she was (and is cause we're actually doing some more work that we just added on another project). I counted about a few hundred emails that we exchanged over the past few months. Both my wife and I have extremely busy work schedules and we travel constantly for work. This project just wouldn't have happened without Jayani so we give her a ton of props for basically serving as our physical on site project quarterback and helping us execute this. She also helped remind us of our timeline and helped us stay fairly close to it despite us looking to drag it out given our desire to keep adding new things. The other person to call out is Andrew. He's technically the lead project contractor but he's a bit of a ninja who is very insightful into the inner workings of construction and materials. As I mentioned construction isn't easy or straightforward. It's coming up with innovative solutions, communicating well and executing diligently that make it manageable. He helped us navigate plumbing/pipes, electrical and infrastructure complexities and put in some great ideas to deliver a solid end product. Super smart guy and manages his crew tightly. Which brings me to the unsung heroes - all the contractors who came in and did very difficult physical work day in and day out. They were efficient, respectful, diligent and skillful in pulling the job together. Hats off to them. So overall to sum up a very long review - big project with many many moving pieces that was delivered successfully. Would hire again and actually just did as mentioned above - using them to do some work in our storage room, which should show our approval rating. Our recommendation: do your research on what you want from your project, have some views on colors/materials, be very communicative during the proposal development phase, invest time during the design phase, and work closely with the project manager and leads during execution. You'll have a beautiful home like ours if you follow through!

I hired KBR to build my office, taking a raw space of about 1000 sq ft and developing it into a suite of three high-end professional offices. At every step they were responsive, creative, and paid tremendous attention to detail. They had great suggestions with regard to the design itself, as well, even though I had used a full service architect. Their responsiveness, in particular, was phenomenal: every single thing that came up, they responded to quickly, thoroughly, and professionally. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Having no experience with kitchen renovations, designers or contractors. I looked at reviews and recommendations in Houzz and Home Advisor. Both gave me KBR as a company that could do the design and coordinate the work. Their price was in line with the other contractors I contacted but had the added advantage of doing the design and using their contacts to get the appliances and materials. I needed someone who could do the complete job -A to Z. I did not have the time or inclination to go from place to place to buy materials, cabinets and appliances. Knowing that I wanted something different, I needed advice what could be done in my small dark kitchen (9' X 9') and what different options would look like. My designer was Alex Laniewska - who approached the challenge with great energy and enthusiasm. Having the basics of what I liked and direction I thought I wanted, she was able to get start with designs. Their office in Manhattan is convenient to public transportation and you are made to feel at home working on the designs and getting comments from other staff going by. Some of my thoughts about what I wanted had to be changed due to the reality of a budget but we managed to get a great final design with some things I never would have thought of doing while keeping my niche for the cat!. Once all the orders were in place, the destruction and reconstruction started. With some bumps along the way (which I suppose there always are on projects like this), the work went quickly. The workers were professionals, polite and pleasant. I enjoyed my conversations with them. The project manager, Petar, worked with them to keep the job moving along. Alex kept in contact and made sure the deliveries came as scheduled. We just finished off the punch list - and everything looks great. I now have a new kitchen and still trying to figure out where to put everything. But, that is a great problem to have. I have and would recommend KBR to anyone looking for a company to do as much (like me) or as little needed to get a job done.

We had a wonderful experience working with Billy Dixon and Jayani at KBR Design. We found their profile on Houzz and decided to invite them to bid on an office suite renovation we designed as the architects. They were quick, professional and competitive in their bidding which continued after we hired them for the project. They finish the job on time and on budget and were responsive and pleasant throughout the process. Our client was very happy and so were we. We would be highly recommended them again.

We’re so happy we hired KBR! We retained KBR to perform a complete renovation of our two bedroom / two bathroom apartment. The renovation included a complete gut and rebuild of the kitchen and both bathrooms including a bathtub to shower conversion; as well as new floors, new recessed lighting in all rooms, new doors, baseboards and crown moulding, and complete rebuild of all closet interiors. KBR’s estimate for the work was fairly priced and accurate and the work done (in all aspects, from the design through production) was a very good value for the price. The month before work was to begin, we experienced a major flood in our kitchen which completely destroyed the room. Our team at KBR was extremely helpful in adjusting the scope of work to include damage repairs and, in particular, Sara and Billy went the extra mile in helping us to navigate the insurance estimation process. That help was “above and beyond the call” and I mention it as an example of the friendly, client-focused, and extraordinarily helpful character of the entire KBR staff. We are especially grateful to Sara and Alex for shepherding us through the co-op board approval process as well. It was a relief to have them on our side and managing this otherwise stressful process. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome of our renovation and the work that KBR has done! The design process was an absolute pleasure and we are so grateful to have been paired with Michelle as our designer. Michelle is unbelievably talented, incredibly detail oriented, and we found her to be extremely generous with her time and ideas. She had a unique vision for our master bathroom which would not have been on our radar screen but turned out better than anything we could have imagined. In our guest bath, she took my general ideas and polished them into a truly magnificent room that genuinely brings me joy every time I see it! Her design sense is elegant and sophisticated and her materials choices were outstanding - yet respectful of budget and made with an eye towards value. On a personal level, it was also a pleasure to spend so much time with Michelle during the process. She is altogether lovely! During the production phase, we were fortunate to be paired with Alex as our project manager and we found him to be extremely responsive to any concerns that arose, incredibly detail oriented, and similarly generous with his time in answering the many, many questions we had throughout. He is kind and patient and extremely knowledgeable. His experience really shows through in his ability to think creatively about solutions and respond to the unexpected issues that crop up during any renovation. As was the case with Michelle, it was a pleasure to spend so much time with Alex. He is a genuinely good person who cares deeply about his clients’ happiness and is deeply invested in ensuring a positive outcome. We found all of the KBR tradespeople to be respectful and similarly dedicated to a positive outcome. It was clear to us that the the team cared deeply about the quality of their work and that they all had a sense of pride in their crafts. I’d like to mention Danny in particular, who did a spectacular job with some incredibly delicate tile work in our guest bath. We are so fortunate to have the byproduct of his very skilled hands. I think perhaps the highest compliment we can give is that if we had to do it all over again, we’d hire KBR all over again. It is a rare thing in this age, in this city, to come across an entire company of genuinely nice, and extremely talented, people such as we found at KBR. Every phase of this process, which can be stressful to say the least, was made better because we were working with a group of very talented, very enjoyable people. Thank you all so much. I requested an estimate from KBR for a project that included a new floor, a bathroom and kitchen remodeling and some carpentry work. Throughout the process, KBR struck me as a very professional company and Noam the project manager was very involved and responsive to my emails and questions. He was also very proactive in following-up with me, took the time to explain his estimate and the work to be done. They were price-competitive for the work we initially asked them to esimate but we eventually reduced the scope of our work and chose a different contractor. However, I would happily recommend KBR to anyone looking for a contractor in the NYC area.

I recently hired KBR to do a complete remodel of two bathrooms down to the studs: a guest and a master. They did an excellent job (and I am a stickler) and I would highly recommend them. Professional, detail-oriented and thoughtful throughout. About the job... The job involved extensive work with the DoB and building management to obtain approvals. KBR team worked tirelessly until all the paperwork was in order and didn’t start the job until materials were ready to go so we could minimize disruption. The job was completed on time and the contractors were very neat and respectful throughout. If I had a question or felt something should be changed, they worked to resolve it immediately. Workers came every day so I didn’t ever feel they were de-prioritizing my job. The interior designer assigned to work with me, Giselle, was fun, creative, and detail-oriented. Gilberto, our project manager, was present nearly every day and worked diligently to address every aspect of our job and to ensure our satisfaction with the outcome. I can say that we are thrilled with how both baths turned out. Would hire KBR again!

Hi there, I wanted to submit a review here as I had the best experience with KBR! I have two adjacent apartments I was looking to combine into one larger apartment. I briefed in six build firms and felt that KBR was the most detailed with their SOW, proactive and knowledgeable in architecture/design/construction. There were a lot of hoops we went through dealing with our building management, building architect, and KBR was super supportive and helpful during this entire process. KBR first did a gut renovation for a 3 bedroom apartment we purchased 3 years ago. We have really enjoyed the apartment since. Remarkably, they did within the time frame specified, which was about 3 1/2 months, and got us in on time. Doesn't happen very often, especially with the scope of work and gut renovation. We were quite pleased, overall, with the quality of work. Stuff came up, and KBR was prompt on addressing our concerns and fixing stuff. Now, 3 years letter, a somewhat big issue came up in one of the bathrooms, with some tiles coming loose. It was unclear why, but it seems that there was some problem with the thinset applied initially. KBR took ownership of the problem, and came in and fixed the problem in a few days. The workmanship is quite good, they treated us well, and were very responsive and sensitive to our concerns.

After investigating several options, I hired KBR to perform a gut renovation of my apartment. From the very beginning, KBR articulated the correct scope of work needed to bring forth my apartment renovation. They handled all of the building approval process, and designed the entire renovation to fit within my budget. Michelle Cheung did a phenomenal job of holding my hand through the schematic phase of design as well as the finished material selection phase. Once the project was underway, Alex Moroita, the Project Manager, oversaw the build team and all of the additional trades needed to execute the renovation. In the end, I had a new bathroom, a new kitchen, all new floors, as well as updated electrical throughout, a great paint job and millwork to cover my radiators and a built-in bookcase that is more beautiful and functional than ever. Michelle and Alex were a delight to work with and the entire team they hired were respectful and incredibly skilled at their craft. I would absolutely hire them again and recommend them without reservation to anyone looking to renovate their home.

KBR was amazing to work with. There are always issues in any renovation but hey were so quick to respond and solve all problems. Alex was specifically amazing and is still helping to fix things we have broken since moving back into our apt. He’s goes above and beyond what is expected! I would recommend them to anyone! It’s a one stop shop and I didn’t have to worry about supplies or deliveries etc. Alex was also amazing with my building and super which was extremely helpful in a renovation in a coop.

KBR did a great job on our kitchen renovation. We added in a whole new half bath as well and it came out amazing. We had a bit of a rocky start as our work ethic didn't fit with the designer that was assigned to us. To KBR's credit, they adjusted everything that need to be changed on time & at no additional cost. In the end, I would for sure recommend them to a friend - which is saying something. Kurt & Billy were amazing to work with and extremely responsive. It was a long journey, but we couldn't be happier.

I had a wonderful experience working with KBR NY to renovate my apartment. My renovation came out dreamy and I am very happy with the results! We worked with KBR for the renovation of our apartment in Manhattan. KBR was recommended by our architect and was selected via a competitive process. What was initially supposed to be an easy and straight forward job turned into a more challenging one due to a very sensitive co-op board, however, the KBR team acted very professionally and supportive throughout the job. Our Project Manager, Alex and his team were extremely helpful and with a very good and positive attitude. The renovation turned out very well and we are very happy with the result. I would certainly work with KBR again, and would ask for Alex to be the Project Manager.

My first contact with KBRNY was my cousin. She had her kitchen done by KBRNY and I absolutely loved it. In 2017 I contacted the company to remodel my kitchen,and I was pleased with the result. In 2018 I again contacted KBRNY to do my bathroom. I worked with Alex who I was able to contact whenever I had concerns regarding anything.Yosi would always correct me whenever he thinks the project would not be as lovely as he would like it to be. Most of the time his judgement would be correct. I enjoyed working with KBRNY and would definitely use them for future projects.

We recently hired KBR to renovate our 2 bedroom/1.5 bath, newly purchased apartment. We were quite nervous about venturing into a home renovation project, having heard many negative stories. We are so happy that we went with KBR—it made our project one that we can actually tell our friends that it went smoothly. They were very thorough with their quote, the project was on time (even given our incredibly tight timeline), they never pressured us to make any decisions we were not comfortable with, and the finished work was wonderful. The team kept us in the loop on what was happening almost daily, and made themselves available to us whenever we needed. They seemed to be a bit more expensive than other companies we looked at, but in the end, it was 100% worth it for us. We highly recommend!

[UPDATED REVIEW 8/7/18] A few weeks ago, I realized that the shower door had been installed incorrectly as mentioned in my original review below. I contacted KBR and they were quick to fix the problem. They came 3 days in a row to replace the tiles that were damaged by the door and reinstall the door correctly. The new crew that showed up was professional and reliable unlike the first crew that took on my project. They even fixed one of my kitchen drawers. Despite my negative experience with KBR, I now believe that my case was an unlucky outlier and would've went smoothly had I gotten a different crew. If anything, KBR has shown that they want to fix the situation for me, and I've been impressed by their commitment. I'd recommend KBR. Just make sure they use a crew they've worked with for long. [ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW] KBR's designers are friendly and mostly professional. Their quote was the most reasonable/affordable for what I wanted to do. The problem is their workers. The workers they hire are nice guys but they lack experience, are careless, and are absolutely incompetent. They painted without paint tapes, leaving spots of incomplete painting and going over boundaries. They left their tools on my new counter without any protection and I had to place a protective layer myself. They were so sloppy installing my floor that the glue was everywhere on TOP of the floor. Their shower door crew didn't install the door securely enough that after a few months of regular use, the top hinge came off loose. They broke one of the holders underneath my vanity drawer and didn't even let me know about it. They dinged the cabinet finishing so much so often that KBR had to re-do the whole thing. And even afterwards, I still found dings. Just.. utter incompetence. But from talking to them, I know this isn't entirely their fault. The workers are pressured to finish the job as fast as possible by KBR. This pressure creates a vicious cycle of hurried tasks and having to fix mistakes produced by the rushed jobs. Rushing the jobs also isn't entirely KBR's fault. The workers KBR hires in turn hire other workers but they pay them by hour. So of course they want to spend the least amount of time to get the job done. This leads to very low quality of jobs. This may be a problem common to the industry but it was a problem nonetheless. The project took 4 times longer than estimated. This caused me a great amount of financial and psychological stress. Through the process, KBR tried their best to be accommodating and compensated for the trouble I went through. They offered to install light fixtures for free and offered me some financial compensation along with a nice gift at the end. I personally wouldn't use KBR again or recommend it to others, but I also don't know if my project was an outlier and KBR is actually a lot better than what I experienced. If you're going to hire KBR, I'd suggest you put into the contract a timeline clause that compensates you financially if the project gets delayed, and a clause that requires a weekly quality control meeting where you and KBR can go over the workers' work in detail.

I found KBR to be extremely thorough in providing us with an estimate and complete understanding of project flow. They are very responsive over email and quick to answer any questions. They were happy to attend multiple site visits at our property and were accommodating when we asked to see a current project in action.

We recently worked with KBR to do a co-op combination project for a 1 bedroom and studio. We removed the kitchen from the studio and built out a large master suite, adding a beautiful bathroom and laundry closet. We raised the ceilings throughout the unit and installed new flooring to unify the 2 separate areas. Despite a change in the project manager halfway through, our project foreman handling the day-to-day construction was on-site during the entire process and oversaw the work from start to finish. He took great care of our project, ensuring everything was done to our taste and specifications. The work was done within the estimated time frame (how often can you say that about a construction project?!) and the craftsmanship was really great. The workers were very precise with their tile laying, woodwork and painting. KBR has been easy to work with throughout the process and when we had an issue with a light after the completion of the project, KBR sent someone the next day to fix it. KBR worked hard to resolve issues that arose after the demolition phase of the project. We were able to arrive at a solution that worked for everybody in light of the changes. And KBR’s pricing for the overall project was quite reasonable — neither the cheapest nor the most expensive relative to other quotes we received — but the quality and attention to detail were at a premium level.

I was very aprehensive about hiring any contractor after a really terrible experience with someone else. But the KBR staff was really communicative throughout the entire process. Giselle Ulmo offered the kind of design assistance that would have been really frustrating otherwise. She understood my taste, budget and provided great suggestions. Latif Latifi, who oversaw the construction, was also high communicative, easy to work with, and dotted every I and crossed ever T to make sure our job was done perfectly. They cost a few $$ more, but it was so worth it. KBR Design & Build has restored my faith in contractors. I love the end result. Thanks KBR!

Under no circumstances should you use this company. They were banned today from working in my building for failing to abide by clearly articulated and agreed work rules. They were informed on two occasions they violated building rules and they were also told they were not doing quality workmanship. After a meeting between me, our building manager, and KBR company owners, they assured us they would abide by work rules and then failed to follow work rules and were subsequently banned from my building. I will now need to hire a different contractor to fix their mistakes and complete my renovation. As if that weren't enough, they do not check their own work and leave it to the renovator/ owner to Quality Check their work which is poor to say the least. They damages existing walls, they do not install things appropriately, they do not work for days at a time and can not complete straightforward tasks, they can't paint a straight line between your wall and ceiling, etc. KBR comes across well in initial meetings and in terms of how they might work with you as a client, but they can not deliver when it moves from a design to a build project. I do not know how they garnered such a good ranking on Houzz except to think the reviews are false. I am currently seeking a refund for work from KBR and we will see if it is granted. I am also filing a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs with the City of New York for their performance and failure to deliver. They have done a terrible job and I deeply regret believing they were a reputable company based on Houzz reviews. Something doesn't add up here. I did what I thought was my due diligence to hire a good company and instead I've ended up with a terrible situation that will cost much more than choosing a higher bidder not to mention my lost vacation time, my disruptions with my work schedule and the disruptions for the community in which I live. Their reviews on Google / Yelp are 1 star. I am giving them one star. Problems: Can't do budget driven design Can't follow coop work rules Can't complete a project on time They do not check their work They do shoddy work and damage your apartment They fail to consider usability - they installed light fixtures that can not be removed and damaged the ceiling with their installation They do not give you advance notice when you need to vacate your apartment due to works or due to closing out / removing toilets Their project manager does not manage the project - he does not oversee the work of the contractors You have overhead associated with having a designer and a contractor but they do not communicate effectively and you do not have a single-point-of-contact managing your job. Go elsewhere. Trust me. I hate the fact I am writing this review.

I contacted KBR because they had completed a project in my building. I had been seeking a contractor to renovate my bathroom. My previous contractor was unreliable so I decided not to use them. From start to finish the experience was flawless. Noam was professional in preparing the project estimate as well as the back and forth with changes. He communicated in a timely manner with me until the contract was finalized. Michelle Cheung was assigned to me as the designer. I can't say enough positive adjectives about her. From the start she understood what I was seeking in terms of design. I am pretty cure she spent more than the contracted hours consulting with me picking out materials from vendors. Her design ideas were terrific and she gave me many options always giving me a yes or no decision making opportunity. Michelle made herself readily available to discuss and respond to my ideas. She was an absolute pleasure to work with because she was enthusiastic and committed to my project. Andrew was assigned as the project manager. He, too, was committed to the project. He assessed some issues and help make decisions that made the project run smoothly. He showed up frequently to check progress and quality. I was gone for 4 weeks and the project that turned from a 1 to of 2 bathroom renovations proceeded while I was away. Both Michelle and Andrew handled it smoothly so I could vacation without any worrying. Both total bathroom renovations were completed according to the time frame identified in the original contract. There were no hidden costs added to the contract. And they made getting approval through my coop aggravation free which was a high concern of mine. If I decide do any additional apartment renovations I would ask for Michelle and Andrew and would not hesitate using KBR.

We hired KBR to conduct a kitchen renovation which a friend redesigned for us. I don't think I'd ever dealt with such a professional company as this. Andrew Karabynosh was our point person and was just lovely. He was very receptive to our questions and concerns, never condescended to us and handled his staff with respect. Really everyone we spoke to or emailed with was friendly and easy to talk to from Zach to Michelle. We would absolutely call on them again for future home projects. No question.

My wife and I hired KBR to do a full renovation on a 2200 square foot 3 bedroom apartment we bought in Dumbo. It was a big project, and we were on a tight timeline (our son was born in June, so it had to be done by May). Here's a summary of our experience: KBR is extremely responsive during the scoping/bid process. They can move quickly to tell you how much things will cost and what your options are. They'll notice things you don't, which helps you to be realistic about what needs to be done. We didn't love our designer. There were communication issues. But the finished product in terms of design is pretty much exactly what we wanted -- it just took a little more patience, time and effort on our part. Our designer actually left KBR shortly after work commenced, but we found working with the substitute designer on the finishing touches to be extremely easy (actually easier than with our original designer). Now for the main reason we give them 5 stars instead of 4 stars -- Andrew Karabynosh. Andrew was our project manager. He's thoughtful, competent and thorough. He was on site every day, extremely responsive to texts and emails and made sure everything was done right. We made changes to the design after work commenced, and even when we expanded the scope of the project last minute (e.g. dropping the ceiling and adding recessed lights in the master bedroom) he made sure to allocate enough resources so that the apartment was ready in time for us to move in before our son was born. As a last point, and this is another reason I give them 5 stars, they continue to take care of us even though the project is done and we've paid them in full. This is a big point for me. With a project this big on a time frame this tight, there were bound to be little things that need to be fixed but don't get noticed until much later. All I have to do is text or email Andrew about these things, and he sends someone over. I've included two before/after photos. I don't think they really capture everything that they did but they were already on my phone and easy to upload.

KBR Design & Build finished my kitchen last week and I could not be happier. It is not only beautiful beyond my expectations but it is also wonderfully functional. There is a place for everything and the storage is amazing for a tiny New York City kitchen (60 square feet!) I have a pantry, a mixer lift, a large range, gorgeous shelves, a trash pull-out, under-sink pull-out for cleaning products and a pull-out for tray storage. The design more than doubles the counter space and number of outlets that I had in my previous kitchen. It is miraculous! I was lucky to have Mohsen as both the designer and the project manager. He worked closely with me during the design phase and listened to my wishes. Together we created a design that worked for me and that I could afford. He found stock cabinets that could be used in a way to create the "custom" space that I longed to have. Mohsen and his assistant Carlotta advised me every step of the way on each of the minute details like colors, finishes, and placement. Likewise, the people who did the carpentry, plastering and painting were excellent. I thought particularly highly of Augustine who did amazing work in every area. Also the office staff did a wonderful job. Yelena handled getting the approval from my Co-op board and getting all the permits required in New York City. Sara, who first visited my apartment for the estimate, remained interested and engaged throughout the project. The entire team was excellent and they made the experience as painless as a renovation (complete with lots of dust, noise and clutter) could possibly be! I'm very happy that I chose KBR Design & Build to renovate my kitchen.

KBR recently completed a very large addition/remodel to our home. The effort, communication, and quality of craftsmanship were top notch. The subcontractors were very good, extremely dependable and pleasant. Noam was recommended by friends, who also had a project completed by KBR, any my family can’t thank them enough! We will hire Noam and his team again for our next project and continue to recommend KBR for new construction & additions.

Horrendus. Just don't do it. As I sit here sweating because the sleeve for our PTAC unit was basically just a hole cut into the wall, I get angrier and angrier. My husband took several days off from work; workers/contractors wouldn't show up. We moved into our apartment with 20 bags of garbage; which we were forced to remove. We scrubbed the dusty apartment ourselves as we moved in, but they still tried to bill us for cleaning. We keep finding things that were done wrong. They cut every corner possible and do not hire licensed professionals. A true disaster.

I had a superb experience with KBR in the transformation of my shabby, dated, and oppressive small bathroom to the showcase of Asian modernism it is today. I found the staff professional, aware of and candid about cost implications, responsive to client aspirations and concerns and exacting in craftsmanship. As a former museum director, I worked with many design professionals and want to particularly celebrate the designer in the company assigned to me, Michelle Cheung. But I was equally impressed by the teamwork of the various components of the firm. I am completely satisfied with my experience.

I reached out to KBR about a minor cosmetic renovation to our kitchen (replacing floors and cabinetry). I spoke to Tom who was incredibly candid in letting me know that because of the simple cosmetic nature of the job, it would make more sense for me to go straight to a general contractor instead of using a design-build firm (since I didn't require any of KBR's design or permitting services). He road-mapped the process for me and gave me great straightforward advice. Even though I am not using KBR for this particular project, I was very impressed with the level of help and advice Tom provided.

I purchased a 1BR in March of 2015 with the expectations that I was going to have to put significant work (and money) into it, in order to make it move in ready. I spoke with a couple Design & Build firms and a few contractors to try and sort of where I could get the best value. Ultimately, the super in the building sold me on the fact that I should go with who he recommended because he had done work in the building before and would be able to navigate approvals and permits with relative ease. THIS WAS THE WORST MISTAKE I COULD HAVE MADE. I ended up having to spearhead so much of the approval process where I feel that I could always fall back on becoming an expeditor if my career goes to crap. To top it off, the contractor that was recommended by the super pretty much fell off the face of the Earth once he demolished the bathroom and left me in a terrible situation. This is when I started to panic and luckily picked up the phone and called KBR. Tom came to the apartment the next day and walked me through feasibility, tentative pricing, and called out flaws in the half-baked plan that the original contractor had mustered up. I ultimately chose KBR because of how thorough they were, their ability to be up front and manage expectations, and the level of professionalism and competency that all of their employees displayed. I was assigned Margo as a designer and couldn't have been happier with the job she did. I feel like I pushed pretty hard (had to get the project completed within a tight timeframe) and she was always pleasant and responsive. She also pulled together great designs and I'm in love with my new home! Andrew was my Project Manager and he is the man. I'm sure they think I was an annoying client because of all of the questions that I continually peppered them with, but this was my first renovation and I was looking to learn as much as possible s I could save money the next time around. Andrew was always walking me through the process and would take pictures and send them to me so I could understand the installation process of specific elements throughout the renovation. All in all, the place looks great and I feel that I got good value even though KBR is not the cheapest firm around. There was a couple hiccups along the road, but it was a dream compared to how my renovation started off. I've already recommended KBR to a couple family members and friends.

We received a lot of help from KBR in the process of buying an apartment and planning for its renovation. Noam from KBR is very responsive and helpful. He came out to two apartments we were interested in, to estimate the amount of renovation needed, so that we could value them properly. He also answered many questions. I visited their office and everyone was cheerful and professional. After we bought the apartment and had the drawings, KBR provided us with a detailed bid promptly. Even though we didn't end up working with them further due to other reasons, I have no doubt they would have done a wonderful job.

Very nice guys!!!. We hired KBR to remodel our kitchen and baths six months ago. We were delighted and impressed by their proposed solutions to our design challenges (very limited space) . The design process was collaborative and fun (much more than the construction part). The final design was both more practical and more beautiful than we had expected. Now that we have lived in the new space for few weeks, we remain extremely pleased. As the work commenced, it became obvious that not just the design but the craftsmanship and especially the management skills of the team were up to all our challenges. Those came to include some unexpected problems from a previous renovation that could have interrupted our project for several weeks and which required extensive additional plumbing work. We were particularly impressed with KBR ability to gather the right experts and trades, revise part of the construction schedule and keep us on track close to our original completion date Throughout the project, communications were easy; the project manager and Yosi responded to questions and issues without delays We certainly would work with KBR again and happy to recommend their work to anyone who is looking for high standards renovation

Working with KBR has been the highlight of my home ownership. When we purchased our co-op space in Brooklyn we weren't sure where to turn to get it renovated. Frankly, the building approval process was daunting in and of itself. We found KBR and couldn't be happier. They were the ultimate one stop shop!! They put aside our fears of the building approval and we're able to navigate it expertly and efficiently. The designer we worked with was excellent, had amazing suggestions and were able to help us stay inside of our budget. The project manager kept us abreast of issues and was professional and punctual, as were all of the workers who came into our home. The end result was beautiful. I really couldn't recommend a better company to work with.

My recommendation for those who are looking to work on small project at their homes: DO NOT pick this company. My project was small (redoing a small bathroom and replacing the wood floor throughout the apartment) yet it still took us almost two months just to get renovation permission from our building - yes our building might be slow and picky, but KBR people are just as slow and unclear in their preparations. The whole experience made us feel like we are not important enough for them to pay attention due to our small project. The whole process working with them took us 3 months. Compared to the bumps during the project, things I mentioned above are nothing. This whole project was a complete rip-off. On the contract, we clearly asked for replacing the old wood floor we had with new wood floor. In reality, they lied to our face that they did the exact thing, except when I found out they did NOT. They actually placed the new floor right on top of the old floor, which saved them a ton of time and energy. How convenient! I told them I found out about this “surprise”, they then admitted that is the truth and Tom agreed to process a refund on the labor that did not happen. Not to mention that they did the floor as their first thing on the list, instead of the last thing to do during project (so the floor would not be damaged and dirty). It was even more horrible to think, they can just go ahead and DIY the project on their own without any heads-up for me: What if I never found out? Electricity in the bathroom was working just fine when we first purchased this apartment. However after on-site workers knocked down walls and ceiling, the electricity stopped working. We waited more than a week for an electrician to come in and fix it and were told that we might have to pay extra if the electricity box needs to be changed. Glad they realized later it was not our fault so they didn't charge us. But no big progress during that week. Lastly, paint. Again on contract they never mentioned we needed paint for moldings and living room, so we just ordered paint for the bathroom. They ended up to use the bathroom paint to paint the patches on the wall and the molding throughout the apartment, again without any heads-up. The last week in the project, when we went to check on the apartment, they again lied to my face that they found this paint in the closet and supposedly that is the paint for living room, so the whole room now had two different tons of white (one is yellowish white/beige, new one is brighter white). The project manager Sandy told us now we can paint the whole room with this bright white color, with of course extra cost of labor. Tom called me back after few hours and claimed that Sandy (project manager) told him the paint was left by the previous owner and it(the brighter white) is the same paint as the original wall (yellowish white/beige). The reason we can see two shades of whites is because previous layer is old and now is newly applied. WHAT A STORY! At the end of our conversation Tom got a bit annoyed and did not listen to what I had to say. But my question is AGAIN why none of them gave me a heads-up when they first spotted the paint difference, instead, just painted the who apartment with obvious two tones????? We did not want to argue with them, since they have the tendency to get upset with us instead and threaten to stop working immediately once (Yes it happened!). And we did need to move in as soon as possible, so we paid extra $3925 to have the painter to paint the new color throughout the apartment. This is another example they did not follow the contract. So irresponsible just to make up excuses for their mistakes and make you pay for their mistakes!!! Did I mention, the project manager was always late for our weekly meetings except for the time for the paint check, where she clearly knew she/they messed up due to internal miscommunication/ lacking of internal communication? She was always “busy” and never responded you on time unless they made mistakes on their end. I would not recommend this company to anyone who has a small project and reasonable time window. Avoid this company at all cost. The whole experience was very unhappy, exhausting and costly.

Excellent job, couldnt be happier! We hired KBR to do a full gut renovation of our home. The workers really know what they are doing and are super professional. From start to finish, they have kept with the agreed timeline and always kept me informed of the progress with weekly meeting minutes issued by KBR. They have worked closely with my Architect. The team i worked with were clearly experts in their field and helped to make this process as seamless as possible. Highly recommended!

Old and Outdated turned into OMG! Yosi along with the incredible Team changed our out dated apartment into a show room. KBR did not just redesign our kitchen, They redesigned our main living area. We relocated our kitchen, dining area and family room. Yosi and his team helped in every step from floor design down to picking the cabinetry hardware. Margo along with KBR project team put together the most exquisite tile backsplash. The kitchen is both beautiful and functional, Really no words!

We hired KBR Design & Building our master bathroom. During the project, we increased the work to include upgrading Kitchen and apt Floor . We are very pleased with the work. There were no hidden costs, he followed through on every last detail and did so in a timely manner. KBR guided us toward materials that were of a higher quality to prevent problems down the road. KBR team was respectful of our home and did their best to protect our belongings from the renovation destruction. We will definitely hire KBR again for future renovations.

Our project comprised a total kitchen and master bath gut. KBR team is fantastic. We have never had a remodel go so smoothly. They covered all our hardwoods, cleaned our Apt at the end of every day and put up zippered plastic walls to keep dust out of the other rooms in our home. His subs were very professional and did great work. Zak did our project estimate and tracked the costs and he finished when he said he would. It would have been sooner had our tile not been backordered. KBR team did an excellent job and we would use them again in a heartbeat.

I'm sure they do amazing work most of their reviews are fantastic. After several emails and phone calls I still couldn't even get them to come and give me an estimate...got the run around.

In short, do not under any circumstances hire this company for any reason whatsoever. My project was a disaster from start to finish. I will not detail every problem here, but the biggest was they installed the heating pipes incorrectly, which caused water to build up and when steam hit it, caused loud knocking. I had a heating and cooling company come out and was told the entire house could have burned down! It cost about $2,000 to get that fixed (which KBR admittedly paid). They also mismeasured my kitchen, which caused me to have to return my fridge because it was too big, disappeared for weeks at a time, stole my marble door threshold. It goes on and on. Now about two years in, the kitchen is literally falling apart. Every single positive review on this site I am convinced is fake.

KBR is the Contractor you want!! KBR has been a Godsend! From our initial meeting to our final walk through, they have consistently delivered! When looking head on at a huge renovating project, it’s critical that you have a contractor by your side that can do a few things in particular: Listen, lead, plan, and execute. Anytime I hear a scary story of contractors gone-bad, I thank God for coming across this group. One important factor that sets them apart is their attention to detail. Their professionalism, punctuality, and flexibility made a very major renovation seem like a walk in the park. Working with Adi, Yosi, Mohsen, Frank and the rest of the team left me rest assured that I was never alone. When undertaking any large project, issues will arise. They were all addressed and rectified. How those issues are addressed is where you will notice the glaring differences between mediocre contractors and KBR. Yosi’s passion in particular won me over. Excellent job, couldn't be happier! We hired KBR to do a full renovation job of our new three bedroom two bathroom apartment in Midtown West. They were very thorough and competetitive with their estimate and came in on budget. Scope of work included: appliance removal, designing and installing floor to ceiling custom cabinets, installing a new porcelain floor, installing a new tile and installing new appliances and lighting. Zachi was great to deal with and very responsive to any issues that came up. We are very happy with the results!

We just finished our renovation with KBR and the work is beautiful! Some highlights: + Final renovation looks great. The workers really know what they're doing and do a good job making everything look professional and natural. Our bathroom was completely redone and now it looks absolutely gorgeous, 100% thanks to KBR's work and design services. + The included designer (Renee) was wonderful and really helped us beautify the place. Our bathroom looks great and we wouldn't have been able to make all those decisions ourselves. Renee was able to get a great feeling for what we wanted and designed the space to fit our desires and constraints. + Able to stick to a hard deadline. We had a TV show coming to film in our apartment (long story) and needed to prioritize removing a wall by a fixed date. Zachi (Project Manager) was able to accomplish this and was great about reshuffling the project scope to accommodate the show. + Return touch-ups for 6 months included is wonderful. We had an issue with our river rock floor and KBR came back to fix the issue without question. - Knocking off a star for communication... it was often really hard to get a timely answer and the delay in communication made decision making more stressful than it should have been given our very constrained timeline. We had to stop in every day to make sure nothing small was missed, and communicating the changes we wanted took a lot of energy - although to KBR's credit, they always did accommodate our requests.

I used KBR for a complete renovation of my apartment in the UES. They did a great job and were very friendly and professional. The whole crew was very attentive. One person that stands out the most is ZACHI. He answered every call at any hour of the day and worked with me to resolve all questions and concerns. Even after the job was completed, he was still available for anything that needed to be addressed.

Overall very good experience with the entire team. Very happy I chose to work with them, we wanted to combine two apartment units together in a coop building and they were able to assist us in securing an architect, permits, and all design drawings. KBR just completed enclosing the second floor of our NYC apartment to create a second bedroom with multiple closets. The design is perfect--it follows the aesthetic of the rest of the apartment precisely, and even the details match, right down to the floor molding. KBR worked really diligently with us to ensure this result and paid great attention to detail. And they are pestering me about resolving the punch list rather than vice versa--again demonstrating their diligence. We will be using them again without a doubt!

They were so thorough in their pricing that it made me realize how unrealistic the other guys were and how much they left out of their quotes. I recently hired KBR to do a full apt renovation in my Condo. I first met with Adi after inquiring through Houzz for an estimate and some design ideas. Adi came over with one of KBRs designers to discuss the potential renovation and approximate costs; like everyones concern, i wanted to know the price id be looking at as I've heard the various horror stories. After signing on with KBR for my renovation i was introduced to Zachi who is the project manager. I felt more assured for the fact that i had a full time contact to address all my concerns. For anyone considering a remodel/ renovation, if you do not have a point a contact to address all phases and process throughout the duration, you will go crazy.
