For the past year, I have been working with Joan Suzio updating my home. I selected Joan based on her past home design for an immediate family. First, I wanted to update our family room. The family room has an unusual shape with large windows and is used everyday by two children, two adults and a dog. I was struggling with space and knew I needed a designer's expertise. I asked Joan to help me. Based on the results of this one room, I asked if she would help me update a guest bedroom and then, 2 more bedrooms. She brought continuity to the three bedrooms even though the three bedrooms were so different (a girl's bedroom, a boy's bedroom and a guest bedroom). Her suggestions were exactly why I hired her. She had different ideas for furniture placement to make the rooms more functional and feel larger. I have received so many complements on the rooms. The updated guest bedroom has been a huge success. Our guest say they love the room since it is so stylish, comfortable, and they didn't want to wake up (the new black-out window treatment truly work). I love working with Joan. She doesn't pressure you to go in a direction that is not your style or vision. Also, she is keeps you within your budget. I didn't not feel pressured as if she was trying to "up-sell" me. I truly felt comfortable with discussing the room(s) challenges and finding solutions together. She presented different options and ultimately the decision was mine. Her design skill, vision and fun personality made working with her a pleasure. In addition, she is very flexible with meeting times.

I wanted to redecorate my 2 bedroom condominium and I had the pleasure of working with Joan Suzio and her husband Bob Rettig. Joan integrated my ideas with hers and designed a beautiful "new" condominium for me. Joan added expertly to my ideas and designed a fantastic "new" living space for me. Joan did a outstanding job with colors and fabrics to give me a gorgeous "new" home. Joan's husband Bob worked as the general contractor and was here everyday supervising the work being done. Bob was on the job daily to be sure that everything went smoothly with the redecorating. Thanks to Joan and Bob, I have a beautiful "new" condominium.

when my husband & I decided to redecorate our master bedroom we decided it would be helpful to get some professional advice. I was somewhat skeptical thinking that hiring a decorator would be expensive & that I might be driven to design options that didn't match my tastes. Was I wrong. From the beginning Joan was very open & very approachable. She focused on understanding my tastes & preferences. I wanted to update my cousin's living room as a surprise for her so I sent an email to Decorating Den in the Chicago area. Joan contacted me immediately and was willing to take the job even though she lived some distance away. Joan sent me pictures of fabrics and then samples and we picked the scheme. In 3 months she installed everything. When my cousin got home she was absolutely overwhelmed - she said it didn't even look like her house! Joan was easy to work with and did a great job considering our FL to IL relationship. I highly recommend her.

Joan did a wonderful job helping us to pick paint colors, window coverings, tie backs, and carpet. She was very patient and flexible with scheduling to suit a single dad! I would highly recommend her and not hesitate to go to her for my next project.

Joan and Bob were a dream to work with! Joan is the designer was able to translate my concept from my imagination into the plans, and the project manager Bob worked directly with all of the contractors and coordinated their work, which made the process go so much more smoothly. They were both on top of the project status at all times, and very responsive to my questions. I'm so pleased with the final product - simply fabulous!

Joan has helped me decorate 3 houses, We chose paint, carpeting, and window treatments. Not only is she fun to work with, but she is respectful of our tastes and budget. She has an eye for detail and color. I highly recommend her.

A decade ago Joan from Decorator's Den helped us select (and have installed) some sheer curtains and rods for our home. Last year we took them down to paint and when we went to put everything back up - we found we were missing a couple pieces used to connect the curtain rod to the bracket. Because the rod was quite expensive replacing it was a last resort. Eventually we decided to call Joan to ask for her advice/help. Joan responded by coming out to our home, getting up on her ladder and taking a few pics of the assembly. She then went back to the office and searched thru her supply closet, found the parts we were missing - and delivered them to us within a week! Joan did all of this professionally and cheerfully at NO CHARGE to us. This is service and commitment to customer support you just don't see very often - if ever.

Joan Suzio assisted in creating window treatments for our home that greatly enhance our pleasure and comfort. She is highly knowledgeable and her experience is easily recognized as well as reassuring. Joan was always sensitive to working within our budget while still providing numerous options and explaining the advantages of each of those options. She did all of this in a timely manner and when something went amiss she was quick and gracious to make it right.

I have worked with Joan for over 20 years on various projects. I always come back to her for her great ideas, professionalism and unmatched quality. Most recently she replaced sheers in a living room and they look fabulous.

This is the second time I have worked with Joan Suzio. She helped us from the ground up with our last house many years ago and stayed with the project until completed. We loved everything she helped us do. This time around, I downsized and started from scratch, once again. The project originally was slated much smaller, but quickly grew due to the fact that I didn't "want to live through a mess more than once". What I love about Joan is she listens carefully and gently guides you with your own taste so it reflects you. She is respectful, very knowledgeable and definitely goes the extra mile. Once again, we had a very good rhythm choosing everything and working together. She was a huge help in choosing the paint colors and designing my beautiful couch. The couch pillows are stunning with glass bead trim. The window treatments and custom bedding are gorgeous. There are so many decisions to make and she was there every step of the way. I had a vision in my head of what I wanted my new place to look like and she made it a reality. She followed up in a timely manner on the progress of everything being made and coordinated all deliveries. We chose beautiful handmade rugs together from Nepal. She was right on the mark with sizes and colors. I have and would definitely recommend Joan to help with any decorating projects. She is very easy to work with and got along well with the painter and other tradesmen working at my house.

I have worked with Joan over the past 20 years. She has recommended great colors, materials, and designs. I have purchased window coverings for my entire house and rugs from her. They have all been exactly what I wanted and have held up beautifully. I had a problem with a shade and Joan arranged to have someone come to the house and fix it. I believe she truly stands behind all her products and installations. I also purchased window treatments for my son's condo and we were very pleased with the installation and product quality. I would definitely recommend her and will use her for any design project.
