Imperfect Interiors

We hired Imperfect Interiors to help us with the complete remodelling of our apartment in central London and we feel that the results are absolutely spectacular! The property was a completely featureless, blank canvas when we started, lacking any real warmth or personality. Beth completely transformed it into a sophisticated, characterful, and highly functional home and tweaked the layout to maximise every inch of space. She has an incredible eye for spatial layout, colours and texture, and we are delighted with the look and feel of every room. Throughout the entire project, her communication was flawless, her budget management was transparent, and she handled the unique challenges of a central London project with total ease. We couldn’t be happier with our beautiful new London base and will certainly use Beth’s services again in the future if we move home.

We worked with Beth on a lengthy whole house refurbishment and decoration project. It is easy to confirm (and I can't overstate this) that we are absolutely delighted with the result and truly love what she has guided, cajoled and gently challenged us to create. We love it. However that would only be part of the story. Beth is simply a pleasure to work with: professional, calm and with confident but empathetic vision, she was indispensable to our project. Not only did she understand the "feeling" and style we were drawn to (and she must take the vast majority of the credit for that), she was so easy to trust that we knew she would both challenge us to be a bit bold and make gentle suggestions if she thought we were going a bit astray! Beth is transparent about how she works and what to expect, and is an excellent communicator: she worked particularly well with our contractor and architect. I would come straight back if we were to embark on anything else, and would not hesitate to recommend contacting Beth - whether in relation to a large renovation or one of her "expert" advisory slots for specific problems or smaller projects.

This is the second time we have worked with Beth, this time furnishing our house in the country and would recommend her without hesitation. Her knowledge of suppliers and trade contacts proved invaluable: she brought options to the table that we could not have found ourselves, and her access to trade pricing always helps! Often, it is finding fabrics that overwhelms me, but Beth made it far more manageable, ending with some excellent results. The whole process was smooth and professionally handled from start to finish, with none of the chaos that can so easily creep into a project of this kind. If you want the job done properly and without financial surprises, she is well worth engaging.

Imperfect Interiors were truly fantastic - imaginative and very creative, while demonstrating an incredible attention to detail. They implicitly understood what we were after, and, while our preferences were a part of the process, we benefited hugely from the thoughtful guidance, experience and expertise that Imperfect Interiors brought with them. While achieving a result that we love visually, Imperfect Interiors also thought through the functionality of every little detail - from very clever storage solutions to the longevity of the finishes. Imperfect Interiors were also extremely helpful recommending and communicating with suppliers and trade experts. Beth and Caroline are both very skilled and knowledgeable and we are very grateful to them for their thoughtful, patient guidance and the result that we could not be more pleased with.

Working with Imperfect interiors was such a fun and inspiring experience. Beth is meticulous in her organisation, calm and had everything ready, and planned ahead of the builders making the process smooth and stress free. I asked her to make the house warm, colourful and creative but more importantly elegant and timeless. Beth took time to understand our taste and what we wanted to achieve and was exceptionally thoughtful, attentive and fun to work with. She unleashed a creative side I didn’t know I had, encouraging me to explore colours, textures, and even antiques in ways I’d never considered or would have be scared to try. Her eye misses nothing, every colour texture and details was perfectly considered, and she ensured everything she was involved in was done to an incredibly high standard. She is not a one size fits all designer, she is agile and adapts to the clients style budget and ideas and is massively attentive and professional. I cant recommend Imperfect interiors enough, Beth has made my house incredibly beautiful. My husband didn't see why we needed an interior designer then, at the end of the project said Beth was a massive timesaver, helped us achieve things we would have never managed ourselves and was worth every penny!

I recently completed a second renovation of a house with Beth. This time the whole process was carried out remotely, and the results were to the same high standard as if Beth had actually visited the site as she had been able to do on our prior project. Beth's attention to detail, with fabrics, lighting, and furniture, to the continued dialogue between us meant our house changed from a holiday home into a family home that is both beautiful to the eye, and comfortable to live in. I would absolutely recommend Beth to anyone seeking a designer that is both creative and meticulous in the details.

We have been working with Beth over the last two years in connection with our restoration project of a Grade II Georgian listed property in South East London. We met with a number of interior designers prior to starting the project - Beth stood out from the rest as being someone who truly understood what we were trying to achieve, and the budget that we wanted to work to. We didn't want a "cookie cutter" house, instead something that truly represented us as a couple. Beth helped us achieve that. Beth worked collaboratively with us throughout the whole project from design concept to installation. In particular, Beth was great at making suggestions for suppliers and always had an eye for budget savings. Beth challenged us where she needed to, but equally was ready to listen to our views and opinions as clients. The result is that we have a beautiful home that we love, and love to share with our family and friends. There's no doubt that Beth contributed greatly to the end result.

Imperfect Interiors are exceptional - I could not recommend them highly enough. We’ve worked with them across several years on our project and they’ve been a pleasure to work with both in terms of manner and outcomes. We are so happy with the result - it really feels like our home & Imperfect Interiors nailed the brief that we set out. They are creative, flexible, organised and reliable. I never felt like I was being forced in a direction I didn’t want to go in or towards e.g. expensive options only. It’s been so great to work with someone who helps to maximise value and get to the best outcome overall - knowing where it’s important to spend, but also where highstreet brands do the job just as well. Beth and Jess were amazing, we would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of doing a renovation. They listened carefully to our vision, providing suitable options and choices at a range of price points. Beth has amazing connections with trusted suppliers and can source some great items which you wouldn't be able to yourself. Both Beth and Jess are really organised and attentive to any requests or changes. They arranged for all of our furniture to arrive on the same day and set it up for us so we came home to a virtually new house. We are super happy with the results, and would thoroughly recommend working with them.

We could not recommend Beth and Imperfect Interiors more. She was an absolute pleasure to work with over a year plus long project, and without her input and guidance, we wouldn’t have finished to time, nor with such a beautiful and well planned home as a result. Trying to be as concise as possible!: - Beth was invaluable during the planning phase, practically thinking through every aspect of electrical plans, and how we would use each room eg perfect placement of bathroom furniture. - A wonderful style with us, gently pushing us to be a bit more adventurous in places with design, but always recognising we had to be comfortable with every decision. - Fantastic ability to work with every contributor to our project, nudging/challenging where needed to keep us on track but in such a polite and friendly manner. - Beth was great at mixing beautiful pieces across the high street and designers to create a seamless design within budget. Long and varied project - maybe not a standard engagement as we had a lot of pieces of furniture, rugs, art and sculpture that needed to work around and be fitted in the new space. We had string ideas on what we wanted, liked and did not like but also had a list of things we wanted. The space itself was a mix of Victorian and modern - interesting old property and big rooms to work with. Beth understood what we wanted and helped us with everything from mood boards for each room to help land paint colours, soft furnishing and where things may go, including sourcing tiles and everything in between to finishing as we needed. We challenged her a fair bit with our brief but we also were willing to look at and for different things, Our love for colour, texture, and variety gave us plenty of options to be creative. We enjoyed the collaboration, the ideas, she had to work with two sets of strong opinions which she dealt with very well and knew what would and would not work. We really love the end result - it’s a great home and we love everything about it. It’s been a hugely fun project and I think one she can be pleased with too. Big thank you.
