Look no further than Amy Gardner and her team. Easy to work with, very responsive, and they listen. We bought a home, thinking it was a big renovation, well turns out it was a tear down. Amy and Brittany were there through the entire project from concept, drawings, permits (no small task in DC), and construction. We wanted to make sure the home fit in with the neighborhood - mission accomplished. Inside it is a work of beauty...including the universal design first floor.

We recently completed a project in Fairfax, VA, with Gardner Architects which went very well. The homeowner was thrilled with the result as were we. We are thankful and grateful to have been brought in by Amy Gardner who was a great architect to work with. Thank you very much!

It's been nice and enjoyable working with Gardner Architects because they care about the details. The architect, Amy, is caring and works very well with both her client - the homeowner - and the builder - an important factor for a successful project.

We have only superlatives to describe the work of Amy Gardner and Brittany Williams of Gardner Architects LLC. We put them to the test with our project – a complete renovation of an early 20th century coach house/garage in a downtown historic district. If that wasn’t hard enough, we wanted to add a third storey. We had a vision of what we wanted but few specifics. Amy and Brittany translated and augmented our ideas and our aesthetic into a unique dwelling that we love. Their preliminary work involved not only a focus on design alternatives but also taking those designs through the lengthy historic preservation process. With that expertly done, they attacked the plans with superb finesse while somehow making the entire experience fun for us. For the construction phase we were supported by Gardner Architects at every turn -- from selecting a contractor all the way to the final punch list. They were always accessible and responded to all questions and concerns promptly. The end result is outstanding in every way. The only downside is that with our project completed we miss them.

We worked with Gardner Architects LLC to get a professional evaluation of our 70+ year old Cape Cod and to commission suggested plans for expansion and renovation. While we love its charm, we could use more "21st Century" living space. Amy Gardner visited our home, took detailed notes on what we were interested in and how we live, and then came back another time to take photos and measurements of the house. She also requested a copy of the plat and reviewed them. Based on this, she drew up 8 suggested additions/renovations for us to consider. (We were expecting 3.) She really took the time to think about the different spaces and develop interesting options. We worked with her to develop a 5 years plan for adding/renovating and our end result was the plans that were developed. Additionally she made suggestions for types of contractors and moving forward with the first year project (basement renovation). We are launching that soon and will definitely work with Gardner Architects LLC in the future as our 5 years plan unfolds.

I am a principal of Added Dimensions Inc., a contractor specializing in the construction of higher end contemporary residential construction. We have worked with Gardner Architects on two projects. In each case, the plans for the project were imaginative and well thought out as well as being carefully prepared (and easy to build from!). In addition to being a highly qualified architect, Amy is also an absolute pleasure to work with. It is clear that she cares deeply about her work and her clients. My experience is that she will work (and worry) until everything is as it should be. Can't say enough positive things about the firm's work.

If you would like to work with an architect who listens to you, works out the details, cares about both function and form, is sensitive to cost considerations, responds quickly, and is actually fun to work with, you can stop looking now. I have no qualms giving Gardner Architects my highest rating.
