Working with Jane-Marie has been a total delight! She’s transformed my home from bedrooms, office, living room, bathrooms even my basement area. She didn’t just help with the big decisions but also guided me through all the paint samples, furniture selections and the perfect wall art and the little accessories that make my house look amazing. I'm excited to share this Cinderella story with all you special Houzz readers. Jane-Marie is the most caring, smart, and fun kind of fairy godmother that anyone could hope for. Hire her. Now. She's worth it. We purchased a condo in a historic building that was once a flour mill, located in downtown Minneapolis overlooking the Mississippi River. This was the quintessential "diamond in the rough." It had been on and off the market for a while for a variety of reasons. The developers looovvvved cherry wood. It was everywhere and clashed with the yellow brick (peach and orange tones) that are prominent in the Upper Midwest. The building also had many HOA, historic, and regulatory challenges to overcome. And, oh yea, we were in the middle of COVID when the supply chain and workforce shortages were raw. Jane-Marie's magic turned this dated, orange interior into a chic urban oasis. She did it gently, helping my family overcome our concern about protecting the building's historic past, through her unmatched skills in listening, exploring, presenting, patiently tweaking, and refining to deliver the kind of beautiful compromise that made everyone happy. Here are the highlights of her work: - Applied a light German schmear to the 17' river-facing wall to let the natural weathering of the centuries-old brick shine through, but muting the color to a beautiful creamy white. - Identified a flooring that would give us the look of a factory concrete, with a leveling capability and non-glare finish - Gave the floor-to-ceiling beam, cabinets, and woodwork a modern design and white finish - Designed a modern electric fireplace and streamlined, but warm mantle on one of the walls - Selected new furnishings in gorgeous calming colors (together, I call them the seashore) - And so much more Our condo radiates with this cool warmth that is all at once modern and cozy, it twinkles at night to reflect the gorgeous cityscape, and is the perfect backdrop to family and friend gatherings for those looking to launch an urban adventure, walking to great restaurants, theater, music, Vikings, Twins, and Timberwolves games. Jane-Marie Bloomberg, in addition to being creative and resourceful, was meticulous and tenacious in her efforts to help deliver an exceptional design our projects. She was of immeasurable value running interference with the general contractor ensuring that every aspect of the design was fulfilled correctly. She was patient during countless back and forths on product and color selections as well as while I was hitting the redecorating wall. She kept everything moving forward nicely including me.

I have used Jane-Marie for a number of projects. All I can say is that Jane-Marie is a wow and I couldn't be happier. She gave me great ideas on paint colors, fixture updates, furniture placement, and small/medium home projects. She is exactly what I was hoping for in an interior designer, great communicator, impecible design sense, and offered suggestions that were perfect for the space.
