Our home is not only beautiful, but also reflects Mark’s ability to really listen, to value his client’s desires ( however peculiar they might be ). Our home is a reflection of the relationship he fostered with us before, during and after our project’s completion. Mark is charming and personable and truly fun to work with. There is not a day of the past five years, living in the home he designed for us, that we don’t appreciate his vision- watching the sunset from my bathtub, clouds with the moon behind them from our bedroom, baking in the “baking nook” he created for me, watching our grandkids in the pool and playspaces of our yard! Our house is the home we always dreamed of!

I hired Mark Domiteaux to build 5 cottages on my wedding venue property. Sunrise Point at Cedar Creek Lake is a 3 acre penninsula that Mark helped turn into a phenomenal wedding venue. His modern cottages which our guests rave about have helped us become a premier property on Cedar Creek. He is fantastic to work with. His communication skills are excellent and after brainstorming it is such fun to see him design what you had talked about.

This is the second time I have worked with this architecture firm. Eleven years ago, this firm helped me remodel a home I purchased, initially built in 1950. Although I worked with a different architect on that remodel, this remodeling process has been the same. Ruben Garza, who designed "Belclaire Studio," is the best to work with. When I decided to tear down my garage and rebuild with a studio on top, Ruben listened to my "vision" and created an impressive design. The project was challenging. It is a small space with many building codes to overcome. The final design was unique and exceeded my expectations. Not only is Ruben a genius, but he is also a true professional who helped me navigate communication with the contractor and subs. He also explained things to me so that I could understand the details I needed to know for my sanity. If anyone who has ever remodeled is reading this, you will appreciate it. You need to feel like you have an advocate who is on your team and can address any issue. Finally, Ruben did a great job helping me keep my stress level down, especially toward the end. As an interior designer, I highly recommend Domiteaux + Baggett Architects. I was asked by the client to join them on a project in 2007 and I immediately learned of their attributes. Since they operate their business with the needs of their client's as the project goal, my experience with Mark and Laura is always positive, creative, and focused - constantly moving towards the ultimate design wishes of the client. We highly, highly recommend Domiteaux + Baggett. Everyone told us that building a new home would be a miserable process. Our experience was wonderful! My husband and I knew we wanted a modern home with a warm, livable feel. Mark and Laura listened to our vision and designed our dream home. We could not be more impressed with their talent - and we absolutely love our home. Working with them was fun - and if I didn't love this home so much - I'd do it again! There are 3 reasons I recommend them: 1. Talent. They are award-winning and accomplished professionals. 2. Budget. We told them our budget. They stuck to it. Period end of sentence. It was never an issue. 3. Attitude (or lack of ego). They designed the home we wanted, not the home that they thought we should want. There are few things more personal than your home. It's an extension of you and your family. The people designing your home should be worthy of your trust; because in the end, it's your home. Mark and Laura get that. Note: I cannot underscore enough what great listeners they are. We are 100% confident that our long and labored description of the home we wanted was clumsy and unsophisticated (at best). But they listen, listen, listened and somehow understood us. We are still amazed!

I've used Domiteaux and Baggett for two different projects, and I've been delighted with their work both times. The first project, begun in 2005, was a major remodel of and addition to a mid-century modern home that took over a year to complete. Both Mark and Laura were involved from the outset, and all the way through completion. The results were beautiful. The second project (currently underway) is much smaller, but Laura's creativity and counsel have been invaluable. She’s a quick decision maker and communicates well with everyone. Once again, the results are going to be clean and striking.

Can I just say DREAM TEAM ???? My husband and I hired Mark Domiteaux and Douglas Payne of Domiteaux + Baggett Architects, and they designed us the world's coolest house (it's called the Now Haus and can be seen on their website). The process of designing the Now Haus with Mark and Doug was so fun, so collaborative, so successful. To say that Mark is brilliant, is an understatement. To say that Doug was a fabulous design guide, keeping us safely away from anything that would destroy the integrity of the very minimalist esthetic we desired, is also an understatement. Now, 4 years after the design was done, and 3 years after the house was built, I still miss the deeply satisfying creative relationship I had with Mark and Doug, People told me, before we began the design process, that I would eventually come to hate my architects. Boy were they WRONG ! I adore my architects and cant wait to do another house with them.
