Scope of our project includes a full house renovation + design (including new dormer, new rear extension, new roof and windows etc). The build work has taken around 7 months. In general, we are very happy with what has been delivered and we really appreciate that AJ's team (led by Mandip) has transformed an old house in poor condition into a virtually new home to my family. Our designer, Jessica, also from Build Abode, has done a great job by producing at a timely manner multiple versions of design that fulfils our requirements. Throughout the project (design phase & build phase) we have received great communication from AJ's team. AJ himself has been consistently responsive not only during work hour but also at night and at weekend, for which I have really appreciated. Throughout the project, issues arise from time to time since a project of such scale involves many variables and unforeseen situation, the team has kept responsive and has been willing to resolve the issue until we are happy, so all in all, we are very happy and are willing to give a 5 stars.

Thankfully, their quote was not only detailed but surprisingly competitive—especially compared to others that provided nothing more than a half-page scribble. We hired Build Abode to complete a side extension & kitchen renovation after our previous contractor let us down with extremely poor workmanship. The team was respectful of our home throughout, no bad language used on site (vital with our young family), they were efficient, always left site clean & safe at the end of each day while also explaining where we were with the project each day / week. I would thoroughly recommend & will most certainly use Sukh & his team again in the future.

Build Abode did a full house renovation and extension for us, including garage conversion, side rear extension and loft conversion. They transformed our vision from the drawing board into reality. Sukh and Mandeep, along with the others who worked on our property were professional throughout. From the initial consultation to the completion, they showed remarkable skill and attention to detail. Mandeep and Happy are very knowledgeable and navigated some complex challenges around the original plan. We are very happy with the workmanship, and the standards that they adhered to. Timelines were met consistently, there was clear communication throughout and the team was always courteous during the 6 months of build time. Most importantly, after the work was finished, unlike some other builders, they were still available to come and fix some of the snagging work. They even came and fixed issues for our neighbours which was appreciated by all the parties. They worked around our schedules and did an excellent job of supporting us as we moved back into the property. I wholeheartedly recommend Build Abode to anyone seeking a trustworthy and competent builder for their building projects.

Quality of work and finish is poor for the prices that they charge. From the various workers assigned to the project, only one was skilled, with the rest being extremely unskilled with no pride taken in the work they do. They are always in a big rush to get things done as fast as possible, not caring if they sacrifice on quality. Constant mess ups and zero project management from the company, which begs the question why you even pay a premium if the customer is expected to manage all the workers. Do not go ahead with any outsource recommendations of theirs: the waste removal recommendation abused neighbours and scratched up communal area flooring, the tiling guy had no idea how to properly lay handmade brick slips, leaving a wonkey mess that they ultimately refused to fix. If they charged half the price it might be worth using them, but probably still not as they cause you so much stress. I am left to hire another trades person to get the final parts done now, due to a mix of unavailability from Design Abode and also having no trust that their workers are going to do it correctly or well.

Avoid at all cost! Contracting Design Abode to refurbish my flat in London was the worst decision on my part influenced by excellent reviews displayed on Houzz.co.uk and the worst experience I have ever had with a construction company (I have refurbished several flats in the past). My flat and common area outside was turned into a dirty mess during construction, the company hired random freelancers to perform work, the quality of finish was terrible throughout, it took them 4 months to skim and paint 3 bedroom flats and upgrade 2 small bathrooms because they only worked 1-2 days per week and not every week, project management was non-existent, they claimed compensation for poorly finished or unfinished work, floors that I asked to protect were all covered in skimming material and paint, every small change was a major problem and cost a fortune to fix. After four months of continuous stress and struggle, I had to hire another company to fix the mess they left behind! Don’t fall into the trap of five star reviews!

Design Abode refurbished our 1 bed flat for us and we are so pleased with our choice of builder. Their initial quotes were extremely competitive, customer service and communications were always excellent throughout the project. Any issues from simple hiccups to complex process were resolved quickly and efficiently. During the lockdown the team were very considerate of the neighbours especially those working from home. The whole team worked extremely hard and were very organised, we were astounded at the progress which was well ahead of schedule without any compromise on the first-class workmanship. Excellent job! It was a tricky one - the shape of my original kitchen was awkward, it was small, and I was trying to get it all done whilst being abroad! But AJ and his team came through. All was completed perfectly on time and the results are fantastic. It’s my favourite room in the flat now (and it used to be my worst!) The team paid attention to all the details that make a kitchen look luxurious and were great at recommending the right accessories and appliances. Given that I was managing this remotely, I was particularly impressed with their communication - very open, honest, and consistent. I’m very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend them.

In August 2019 Design Abode turned our dream into reality! They designed and installed our dream kitchen. We can not fault the kitchen in any way, neither the service of Design Abode. They were knowledgeable, full of advise and very patient with our demands. I loved that the design included the complete floor plan (having open plan living/dining) not just the the kitchen area. That made us see how everything would flow together. Everything was done on time. Avi, who installed our kitchen went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. He also worked around our schedules. As we are extremely happy with our kitchen and quality of their work, we will be inviting them again to design our build in wardrobes.

The most efficient and friendly staff, highly professional team that can execute your kitchen dreams and desires to an exact specification! The expertise that the team had from the inception with the detailed drawings with great design ideas and 3D visuals created by Sonya, and the level of detail from the installation manager Avtar who was on site during the process and the complete knowledge of every aspect of a kitchen from appliances, accessories, colour schemes and materials and the utilization of space from the directors Ajit and Sukh gave us clear confidence in their work and passion for the job and service provided. They were extremely personable, warm, friendly and charming and a complete joy to have been serviced by. The finished product has been complimented by every guest and is now clearly the highlight of our home. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great quality kitchen with fantastic service to go with it! Our family thank you Design Abode for realising our dream kitchen. One happy customer!
