I recently renovated my kitchen and Craig installed my new backsplash. He removed the old backsplash, replaced the drywall and installed the new intricate backsplash. He was meticulous in keeping a clean workspace both during and after the installation. I highly recommend his work.

Craig replaced some case molding around my front door and repaired the adjacent wall. Couldn’t be happier with the job. As in many others reviews his attention to detail and craftsmanship were outstanding..

This is the second complete bathroom remodel I've had Craig do for me. Last summer was the master bath. This summer was the guest bath. As like before, it turned out fantastic. Craig was a perfectionist as usual. Takes whatever extra time is necessary to make sure the job is done correctly. He keeps you informed as to issues, problems, etc every step of the way. With this bathroom, he uncovered horrible old termite and water damage in the exterior wall. He suggested and I agreed to replace everything to the exterior brick. I could not be happier with how the finished product looks. His estimating and billing process is line item detail, easy to see what the cost will be and then what you are paying for as the job proceeds. He also cleans up the work space every day. Like I stated in my review from last year, my greatest compliment I can give him is that he treats the job as if it were his own home. Can't ask for anything better.

We had Craig Thompson of Custom Surface Solutions upgrade our master bath and kitchen. He did an outstanding job. We recommend him highly to anyone redecorating or repairing a bathroom or kitchen. He is very professional and provides detailed estimates and billing and stayed within our budget. He works pretty much alone, so it takes a little longer, but the result is definitely worth waiting for. He sweats the details. For example, our bathroom tile had a subtle pattern that most installers would have ignored. But Craig laid out all of the tile pieces and matched the patterns to give a natural flow to the resulting installation. He's extremely neat and minimizes the disruption and mess while completing the job. He is always ready to provide his advice as to the best solutions to design issues and we always proceeded with his recommendations. We were out of town for portions of his work but felt completely comfortable giving him access to our house while we were away. We can't say enough about the great experience we had working with Craig.

Craig is a fabulous craftsman and I would recommend him to anyone needing help with their kitchen or bathroom. We first worked with Craig when he re-tiled our kitchen backsplash, taking it from an avocado green to a fresh white. He was detail-oriented, precise, and was able to keep the kitchen clean and dust-free with his careful tarping and daily clean-up. Our kitchen looks amazing! We needed him to come back when we had a leak in our shower pan, necessitating ripping out the floor of our master shower, replacing the pan and re-tiling the shower. The shower is now beautiful; he even suggested a new bench for the shower that makes a huge difference in the space. He is trustworthy, precise, and such a pleasure to work with. I will only call Craig for any tile or home surface needs!

I hired Craig to redo my master bath. I wanted to replace an old Jacuzzi tub with a walk in shower as well as new walls, floor, toilet, ceiling fan, etc. The job ended up being more involved than originally expected. Craig found severe water damage in the shower wall, which required replacing studs, insulation, and sheetrock. He could have easily covered it up and moved on, apparently that's what the renovation team did when I bought the house 15 years ago and had the tub installed. The job was completed on Friday with the installation of the frameless shower doors. I could not be happier with the outcome. Not only does it look great, but the workmanship is top notch. I told Craig the highest compliment I can give someone is that they treated the job as if it were their own home. He is a meticulous perfectionist when it comes to his work. He shows up when he says he'll be there, puts in whatever hours are necessary to move the job along, and impeccably cleans up the worksite every day before he leaves. His itemized invoices are great in that you see every line item for what he is billing. Not just some lump sum amount due with a minimal description. I consider myself very lucky that I found him online through this website. I am in the process of having him give me an estimate on a guest bath redo.

We have a rental home that needed A LOT of love as it had been neglected by the management company and tenants. After an exhausted search and numerous interviews, I was very fortunate to find CSS. The original scope of work was HUGE and diverse including but not limited to, painting, woodwork, tile removal and installation, plumbing, electrical and sheetrock. What I especially appreciated about CSS was that besides performing the tasks on the list, they also saw items that were not on the list that needed to be addressed. THIS I appreciated as I missed several things (for example, some rotted wood on the exterior door frame). The other companies I have worked with would not have brought that to my attention. To say that I found a lifesaver is an understatement!! Thank you Craig!

We did our MasterBath remodel, along with some other minor closet re-work. It was a job very well done and more importantly, you got it all covered with Craig - plumbing, electrical, Tiling, selection of the materials, professional consultation with creative ideas that will suit your needs! We were left with the feeling that as if it was his home he was remodeling! We could never tell the work was going on for it was spot-clean everyday when we got home!! We have posted the before and after picture of our masterbath!
