We would give Greg and his team at BILDEN a hundred stars if we could! We hired Greg and his team to build our ADU for my elderly parents to live with us, and they went above our expectations every step of the process. Their knowledge in architecture and craftsmanship, being on top of city permits and inspections, navigating flawlessly through obstacles, and staying on budget all made our ADU a beautiful build with minimal stress. When we hear about others who have had nightmares with their building projects, we are even more grateful to Greg and his team. We HIGHLY recommend BILDEN for any build projects!

We hired Bilden to build an addition to our home and renovate our primary bathroom. The quality of the work is exceptional. The architect, Greg Crawford, and site manager, Josh Frank, both have exceptional taste and pay impeccable attention to detail. Interactions with the City for permits and inspections went smoothly, the job site was organized and work progressed without delay, and the final product is beautiful. Needless to say, a project like this was costly, more than we anticipated, but we could not be happier with the quality of the work and the integrity and trustworthiness of the team. If we ever do another large project, we will choose Bilden.

Greg is brilliant. Full stop. We set out to build an extremely ambitious addition, including a basement with an indoor pool, and he was our guiding light every step of the way. His design was beautiful, and extraordinarily creative in the ways it solved the many problems inherent in getting exactly what we wanted to work in the space we had. He's collaborative and intuitive. In a design conversation he's excellent at understanding what we're asking for and presenting options for how to achieve it. And he's just a great guy. He's a joy to be around, and he's always a voice of calm rationality amid the stress of construction. Whenever Greg got involved, you always knew everything was going to be alright. You should absolutely hire Greg. I can't think of anything in my life I'd recommend more highly. Maybe naps. Or pizza. If you came up to me and were like "Hey, I've never had pizza before, is it any good?" I'd say yes with the same confidence I would if you asked me if you should work with Greg. Good luck getting him though, cause every person who's come through the house has asked for his number. His work is truly spectacular.

Bilden completely transformed our home into something truly amazing. We engaged Greg Crawford and his team early on during the escrow process when we purchased our dream home. During the initial consultation, Greg was able to articulate a vision of a contemporary, mid-century modern stye that incorporated reimagined spaces and unique materials. Even more amazing was how everything architecturally tied together: the functional use and flow between different areas of the house and the integration of natural light. When guests enter our home, they are stunned at what Bilden managed to create. They took on our project in the middle of a pandemic knowing full well of the challenge of performing on a compressed timeline as well as coordinating suppliers, contractors, and inspectors - and they got the job done! Bilden has the depth of resources to effectively manage the project in house, as well as the industry and municipal contacts to make it happen. They were transparent throughout the project, providing weekly schedule and budget updates. The value that Greg Crawford and Bilden bring to a project is beyond our expectations. The decision to entrust our investment to his architectural expertise was a wise one.

BILDEN did a complete renovation of our condo in Santa Monica. They literally had to take our unit down to the studs. It has now been completed, and the first word out of anyone's mouth who walks into the condo is, "WOW!" The BILDEN team listened to our ideas, introduced terrific ideas of their own and the result is truly beautiful. BILDEN had done work in our building before, so they were familiar with any problem areas and knew how to solve them. The architectural modifications were brilliant and there was great communication during all phases of the project. We are delighted with the decisions with respect to the finishes. The people they brought in to do the wood flooring, tile work and custom cabinetry did a flawless job. They also satisfied all the rules of the building in terms of respecting the other residents. They kept the hallways covered, kept to the permissible hours of work and also kept the unit itself tidy as they worked. They were mindful of our budget throughout the project and did their best to keep to the projected timing for completion. They paid attention to detail and we could not be happier with the results.

When reviewing our 2020 I believe one of the best decision we made is hiring Bilden for our remodeling project in the west LA. Everything became a little more complicated - there's frustration caused by delay, price change, schedule change due to Covid and Bilden helped to handle those smoothly which is really a great relief for a young couple with kid. We love the house. More importantly, we enjoyed the process - the most gain through working with Bilden is that we learned a lot: how to design our living environment being functional as well as aesthetic through discussion with Greg and Joe. We felt grateful that they are both patient and kind, and knowledgable enough to guide us on decision making. The Bilden team did an outstanding job on our difficult Pacific Palisades renovation and we could not be more thankful and impressed with the end result! Simply put, we love our new home! We were fortunate to find Greg Crawford and the BiLDEN Team when we undertook a full remodel of our vacation home in Santa Monica some 370 miles away from our primary residence in Bay Area. But we were smart enough to hire BiLDEN again when we gutted and remodeled our home in Lake Tahoe. The fact that Greg, Joe and the BiLDEN team were located some 440 miles away from the project mattered little because Greg is always forward thinking, imaginative and detail oriented and endlessly ready with alternative designs, finishes and value engineered approaches. Most amazing is how comfortable and innovative BiLDEN is designing in which ever space you envision for your home. Santa Monica was modern design, and the Tahoe project is a Mountain design and Greg and Joe move seamlessly through both, with beautiful design plans that are unique and yet timeless. Perhaps most important is that BiLDEN is always conscious of cost control and always innovative when it comes to advising you where to spend on “top-shelf” items or construction and where you can and should spend less on other items. We look forward to our next project with BiLDEN as they are amazingly talented people who also happen to be a true pleasure to work with and we are happy to call friends.

After many years of wrestling with different ideas and scopes for our house remodel, we hired Greg and Bilden to update our mid-century traditional: open up and redo the kitchen, redo all the bathrooms, windows, and floors. As creative people who aren't architects, we were curious how the collaboration would go -- and it couldn't have been better. Greg and his folks have amazing design style and taste, and they showed us how to accomplish what we wanted in the most aesthetic and functional ways possible. At the same time, they operate with the philosophy that good ideas can come from anywhere, so they were very thoughtful about our feedback and input. It's a balance -- you want a design team that really listens and thinks and knows how to be flexible... but also be the experts and stand their ground to protect the integrity of their work when necessary. That's Bilden, and we had a great creative experience.. They're also incredibly professional and responsible. Major projects inevitably come with bumps in the road, and Bilden always did the best they could to help us navigate them. Most importantly, we love our house!

Undertaking a remodel some 370 miles from home in a high-rise condo with only limited moments to review design issues, city approval problems, construction etc. is the prefect recipe for a stressed filled hell ride to failure. However with Greg Crawford and the BiLDEN team as our partners and our visionaries the turning of our concrete block into our home was a grand adventure and one that we actually enjoyed. It is hard to imagine that our beautiful home was once such a dilapidated hovel. Being limited in the time we were able to spend in town did not make it easy to review design ideas, finishes and consider any issues that came up. But BiLDEN was always on top of every issue (including those outside their control), always made sure that they had fine-tuned choices in materials and finishes and were always willing to look at "value-engineering" as ways to minimize costs when our tastes outran our budget. Greg, Carlo and Josh are truly artisans, talented builders and more importantly they are wonderful people.

Greg was and is always fantastic. Highest class of service and talent. Love all of the work done to the studio and will continue to use in the future.

Working with Bilden was a completely pleasurable experience. Greg and his team had the unenviable task of working on the private residence of a couple where one of whom has spent his entire career as a real estate developer compromising aesthetics for commercial benefit and the other who was fulfilling a life long dream of a perfect residence in Los Angeles. We worked with Bilden for the last two years on a new house in Santa Monica Canyon and had a great experience. Greg was our architect and also our contractor so we didn't experience that disconnect that can happen between the two. I have engaged BilDEN for two projects and have been completely satisfied with the work they performed. In 2007 I engaged BiLDEN to design and supervise a $600K residential remodel. BiLDEN delivered an innovative design, assisted in the selection of a contractor, supervised the construction and handled many unanticipated issues that came up during the project. They were professional, responsive and worked within our budget constraints.. I engaged BiLDEN again in 2015 for a smaller, commercial/industrial project of $100K. For this project, BiLDEN acted in a design build role. The design work was again innovative and provided our offices with a modern industrial look. The project was completed on time and within budget. I can recommend BiLDEN without reservation.

Our project involved gutting our kitchen, altering a structural wall in the living room, installing new flooring, painting the interior, and doing other miscellaneous fixes and improvements to a mid-century style house. My wife and I interviewed 5 people to handle the design/build for the project and hired Greg Crawford @ BiLDEN. We had no previous experience with Greg and happened to find one of his mid-century projects on Pinterest. The project went great. The result is better than we originally envisioned. Greg came with many ideas, worked collaboratively with us, solved problems quickly and creatively, moved the project along rapidly, and maximized our budget with sensible choices. His workers and sub-contractors were always on-time and polite and delivered high-quality work. We definitely recommend Greg and his team and plan to use them for future projects.

Greg has been such a blessing in regards to my home project. From the time I purchased it, through my creative choices, budget guidelines and time schedule, Greg has been a professional assets throughout. The work, style and people he hires are simply fantastic. I highly recommend his services.

Greg updated my old house just down the street from me in Westchester (north of LAX). I hired his firm initially to finish an outdoor living space (yoga room) I had started in the back yard. We added walls, windows, flooring and interior décor to the yoga room that looks out over the bay and marina. That turned out so well, we redid the landscaping for the whole property, put a view window in the fence, enclosed an underdeck space, then painted the house exterior. Lastly we updated the interior colors and surfaces, including hardwood flooring, window treatments, and upgraded three bathrooms. Greg’s skill as architect, contractor and designer made the job easy for me. His workmen did quality work and were careful with my property. He basically made my 12 year old house look fresh and new.

BiLDEN did an amazing job remodelling our apartment from A-Z. working with Greg Crawford is a pleasure, given his passion and knowledge of architecture. his teams are as professional as it gets, and managed the entire project in our absence. particularly noteworthy is how respectful they were with the neighbours - a MUST in any apartment building - and how well they managed the entire city (Santa Monica, CA!) permit bureaucracy. i would recommend them any time for any project, big or small.

Greg Crawford has designed and construction managed two residential, and three commercial remodels for my husband and I since 2006. We like Greg for his imaginative design, thoughtful use of materials, meticulous attention to detail, efficient and unflappable management skills, and responsive followthrough. An example of Greg's thoroughness is he begins a project design by physically spending time both day and night studying the site's light and breeze patterns, the feel and flow of the space, and it's surrounding environment. This important step helps determine for example, window, skylight, and door placement that cannot be accomplished by relying solely on computer models. This extra attention to detail sets Greg apart and contributes to the success of his buildings, and to the ultimate comfort and enjoyment of it's occupants. Another huge plus working with Greg is his adroitness at navigating the murky waters of city bureaucracies.
