プロフィール

The award-winning team of Vernon Applegate and Gioi Tran combines over 20 years of residential interior design practice in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Boston, and New York City with international projects in Asia. VERNON APPLEGATE was educated at The University of the Arts, in Philadelphia, where he received a B.S. in Architectural Studies, and has completed additional coursework through the University of California. He has worked with several notable interiors design firms in Los Angeles and San Francisco prior to opening ATI. GIOI TRAN is a strong creative force influencing many distinct fields. He has a long-standing passion for fine arts and dance, but has built his career in the design field. He received a B.S. in Interior Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and in 1999, with Vernon Applegate, established Applegate Tran Interiors a San Francisco based firm specializing in residential design with projects in France, New York, Hawaii, Panama City, and Vietnam. In 2007, Gioi launched a furniture line manufacturer that is now represented in San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles. His current project is a lighting line soon to be featured at Sloan Miyasato.

Applegate completed a substantial design project on my condo. Although I did not end up executing on their designs, I would recommend them for talent and creativity. The only disappointing aspect of our engagement is that the entirety of my retainer was not refunded.

I have known Gioi and Vernon for more than a decade. They are highly skilled interior designers who create inviting and exuberant spaces. Their interiors perfectly balance a clean modern approach with warmth and artistry, and their color palettes are always unexpected. As a colleague I am an admirer of not only their work, but also their exemplary characters. I know that any potential client can be entirely confident in their design as well as integrity.

I am sure we have already said how unbelievably talented the Applegate Tran Team is, but it is time for an update.... 2017, Gioi created the most stunning home for a wildly brilliant client. We highly recommend Applegate Tran Interiors. During the selection process, we interviewed several interior design firms. Applegate Tran stood out because of Gioi's focus on interior architecture, not just interior decoration; many of his prior projects matched the contemporary direction we wanted; and, the entire team was enthusiastic and skillful. Our new home project has been under construction for the past year and Gioi's vision is taking shape. His influences including framing suggestions, materials selection, decorative elements, and built-in components are all contributing to create an environment that is exactly what we sought. His design input has been creative and challenging, but always collaborative. While he will happily make recommendations, he always listens and accommodates our input. Gioi takes immense pride in his projects and wants to deliver the best possible product, making us very satisfied clients.

The best company I've ever worked with! Gioi and Vernon are very professional yet friendly. They are very versatile, in fact that they also own Poliform San Francisco Showroom and has their lighting line which are currently displayed in Sloan Miyasato gallery.

Applegate Tran was brought into a project that I had designed and was in production. Their involvement with the finishes and interior design took the project to an exceptional level. I was extremely impressed with their knowledge of wood veneers and the incorporation and arrangement of double islands in an Asian-inspired kitchen. They were extremely accommodating and great with our clients. My collaboration with Vernon and Goi was a pleasure with the final product being modern, imaginative and understated.

I have nothing but great respect for Gioi Tran and his staff. As a homeowner, I have worked with several designers in the past. Out of all, I found them to be the true natural talent. Not only are they designers, but I would consider them artists as well. Not only are they fun to work with, they are extremely efficient and professional. They take the time and listen to you. They want to know you and your lifestyle. They take that information and create the most amazing, beautiful, and functional rooms. They are also talented in architecture. For example, they were able to create a breakfast nook by one simple suggestion that I was skeptical about and couldn't picture. Now, it is my absolute favorite room! Love Applegate Tran and his team and look forward to more future projects together!

Applegate Tran are so ahead of their time! They did the graffiti art on the wall in the showcase house years ago, And, now people are asking me to do their kids names in graffiti on their boys walls now in 2014. 1AMSF finally has opened, and the SF arts commission is trying to make SF a street art destination. I love that they took this bold risk at a showcase house before it was hip, and I hope we see something similar at next years!

Gioi Tran and Vernon Applegate are a joy to work with! This is a firm that totally gets it. They are wonderful talented designers and has so many resources to get things exactly right. Interior design is more than choosing a couch, paint samples, and wallpaper. This dynamic duo are interior architects. They can take a plain jane condo, loft, flat, or single family and turn it into a truly remarkable space. A space called home.
