We couldn’t be happier with our home renovation that began with meeting Brenda. She listened attentively to our ideas, then returned with suggestions for implementing them. One of Brenda’s strengths is designing functional spaces. Our kitchen, mud room and walk-in closet are beautiful and functional. When decorating our new space, Brenda used neutral fabrics for furniture, then brought in colour with drapery, pillows and art. The team at AMR Design were professional and responded promptly to phone or email messages. We had a seamless renovation experience with results that surpassed our expectations. This is the second house build that Brenda and her team at AMR have helped us on. Brenda is very hands on and her assistance in guiding us through both the design phase as well as the daunting task of selecting flooring, counter tops, backsplash, tile, shower design, etc. has proven invaluable. Brenda really listened to what our likes/dislikes were and came up with design solutions that fit our style (and sometimes surprised us as well). An overall great experience.

We bought a 1986 house full of terrible orange oak, sunshine ceilings and bronze fixtures....everywhere. We worked with Brenda for over 5 years to renovate piece by piece. We just finished our kitchen reno and it is fantastic. The whole house feels like the reno was done at the same time. During those 5 years, we have got to know Brenda well. She is responsive and professional, her attention to detail is amazing, her ability to work with a contractor to make sure its done right is awesome. I was referred to Brenda Brix and AMR Interior Design by a trusted colleague. I required a complete furnishing and interior decorating for a new home purchase. After an initial meeting with Brenda to outline tastes and preferences, and a review of the home layout, the team at AMR design provided a concept layout, budget, and furnishing options. Once approved all items were quickly sourced, delivered, and staged throughout the house. This worked very well with my travel schedule, and was a nice surprise to return home and have new furnishings, window coverings, and home decor ready and waiting. I am very pleased with the entire process as well as the finished product, and look forward to working with Brenda and the AMR Design team on my next home design project.

I was apprehensive of hiring a designer at first, but from the moment Brenda walked in to our home, her expertise and confidence in her design work shone through. We do not have a large project and are working room by room as our time/budget allow, but Brenda still takes the time to make us feel like our projects are important and worthwhile. She is very detailed oriented and organized, and she is very accessible by text and phone throughout the project to answer little questions here and there. Brenda also has made excellent recommendations on trades people. I would highly recommend Brenda and will continue using her as our renovations continue over the next couple of years.

I've had the distinct pleasure of working with AMR and specifically Brenda Brix on two home renos over the last 3 months. From the first meeting, I realized what a professional, accomplished, realistic designer she is! She is able to combine her experience growing up in a family of home builders with her degree and passion for design and functionality, to come up with plans that are perfect to both live and raise a family in, while being extraordinarily beautiful! I first contacted Brenda at AMR Design about a complete kitchen renovation. Upon meeting us in our home and talking through our ideas and style interests, Brenda came back with a few options for the kitchen layout. We chose one of those layouts and it has turned out to be the perfect design, making our space feel so much larger. Brenda also provided us with some ideas on contractors and cabinet makers. We contacted Revington Renovations and chose Waygood's Cabinets and from there it was a breeze. Brenda supported us through configuring the cabinets and, so importantly, met us to choose cabinet finish, flooring material, counters and back splash. We were nervous about making these choices but Brenda offered us the perfect options that completely fit our style. Happily, we have achieved our dream mid century modern space and we could not have done so without Brenda's guidance. Now that the kitchen is complete, Brenda is supporting us as we re-furnish our family room and dining room. All I have to do is send her an idea and she has the sources for where I can find what I'm looking for. We lucked out in finding AMR and can't recommend them highly enough.
