Paul helped us with the planning, building, and certification process for a bedroom reno, adding a new ensuite, and replacing an old porch. He was invaluable managing the project and keeping us in the loop advising when we needed to make decisions for each part of the process. His builders (and other trades) were prompt, friendly, and considerate. We are very, very happy with the fabulous finish we have.

I cannot talk highly enough about Paul and his crew. The build was exceptional quality driven by an insane attention to detail that isn’t just Paul, but an ethos embedded across his crew. I feel I’ve done a good job decorating the house, but the first thing most people say when they visit is “you must have had a great builder”! And they were. Project management seems like quite an expense at the start of the project, but this is Paul’s superpower. Even with a 4 week total lockdown and a further 100 day lockdown after that we had hardly any delay in our build. We had a schedule visible to at all times, a clear forecast of total cost and a detailed breakdown of all incurred costs and any decisions made on a weekly basis. Alpha1 transformed our villa from rundown to gorgeous in 6 months and we couldn’t be happier. If only they did landscaping as well! Thanks Paul and team.

Alpha 1 Builders are very professional, organised and great to deal with. They have an amazing team of builders working for them along with sub trades so it really is a one stop shop they can organise everything and everyone. It really took the stress out of it for us. They kept us informed every step of the way, and when issues were discovered (as they do with 120 year old villa) they gave us options and solutions updating the budget the whole time so there were no surprises. Because they have such a big team it meant our reno was completed on time! I highly recommend Alpha 1 Builders and his team. Our old villa is no longer cold and drafty but feels like a new home, warm, quiet and inviting. What a difference.

Small project but huge difference to create a new, larger lounge and master bedroom. The guys were easy to deal with, always responsive and well organised to meet our deadlines. Alpha 1 was recommended by our architect for our bungalow renovation. Paul and his team were great to work with from beginning to end of the project, with clear communication and attention to detail throughout. Their practical problem-solving meant we kept things moving on-site, even when faced with the inevitable curve balls a renovation project (and covid) throws. We've fallen in love with our home all over again, it's a delight to live in and to work in. We've already recommended Alpha 1 to friends, and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Alpha 1 started our renovation in July. We had a very pleasant experience, always punctual and willing to listen when we suggested changes as often happened. When these changes could not be executed they were happy to suggest alternatives. We felt that security was a big priority for Alpha which made us feel relaxed with the whole process. Always leaving the site secure, tidy and were on budget. We will certainly be recommending Paul and his team to anyone requiring renovation work. We just couldn’t fault them!

We wouldn’t hesitate to use Alpha 1 again. Our experience, with having them renovate our house, was probably about as good as we could’ve hoped. Paul communicated well; was transparent with bills; and coordinated all the trades well, keeping pretty tight timelines, despite the challenges of COVID. All Paul’s team, and the subtrades he works with, were experienced, knowledgeable, and easy to get on with. The building site was kept clean and professional. Overall, the quality of the workmanship is spot-on, and the finished house is every bit as wonderful as what we’d initially envisaged from the architect’s plans.

We were fortunate enough to come across Alpha 1 builders by word of mouth from friends who had used them for previous projects. From the outset it was a pleasure working with Paul and the team. Budgets were detailed and variations clearly set out before work proceeded. Our site is tight and the project uncovered some unwelcome surprises from previous renovations, however Paul took these in his stride and was always focussed on solutions not problems. Our interior design was very detailed and highly specced but Paul managed the team to deliver a quality outcome that we think is spectacular. We were particularly lucky to have Tom overseeing things on site throughout the project – his attention to detail was phenomenal and he was a pleasure to have around. We would highly recommend Alpha 1 Builders for a renovation.

Paul and his team are leaders in their field. They go the extra mile with communication, transparency and workmanship. The industry standard is not good enough for Paul, and he and his team consistently go above and beyond standard trade practice. Great to work with Alpha 1 through our build - professional in approach and quality driven. We had a number of challenging situations put onto us by Covid and these have been dealt with seamlessly while limiting the impacts due to the high level of organisational capability. Paul and the Alpha 1 team helped us to fully renovate and extend our 1900s villa into a beautiful home for our family in 2018/2019. They were a fantastic team to work with throughout all stages of our renovation, from the early planning and budgeting phase where Paul gave us great advice and insight into what to expect, to the guys on site who always had time to explain things and show us how progress was going. Paul started helping us ahead of purchasing our house giving advice on potential renovation ideas and price guides. He gave us a very clear quote and was happy for us to do some of the work not needing to be done by a licensed builder so that we could keep within a set budget. His team was very professional and accommodating. The workmanship was great and he highlighted areas that needing upgrading as we went along. He worked to a clear timeline that was onsite so that everyone knew what was coming up. His sub-trades did a good job also and stuck to the timelines. He was great at keeping in touch and was fairly easy to get hold of if we needed his advice. We have since recommended him to others looking for a builder. The job came in just over budget but that was due to extras we decided to do along the way while walls and ceilings were open.

We employed Alpha1 to do a full reclad of our home and they did a superb job. They kept to the tight timeline and completed the whole job in four months which was amazing. I was very impressed with their project management skills. And while the scope of the work expanded and the cost expanded, to include a new roof and new bathrooms, Alpha1 was fully transparent with all the costs and we could see where all the money was spent. And we were fully happy with the financial costs. Also the level of workmanship was first rate and so we are very happy with the end result. We basically have a new home. Having to reclad is traumatic at any time but Alpha1 helped us get through it quickly and we are very happy with their work. I would recommend them as builders who can be trusted for this sort of complex project.

Alpha 1 completed a number of projects for us over 2018 including floor to ceiling revamping of bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and dining room as well as building an awning and installing 3 sets of French Doors. We would not hesitate to recommend Paul and his team for any building project. They deliver a quality result with excellent workmanship, on time and to budget. Communication is superb; they are efficient, tidy, well organised and have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the team.

We were very lucky to have alpha-1 build our house. Totally professional always on time (onsite every day @7:00 sharp) and no issues whatsoever. Highly Experianced old school guys only. All inspections passed, all owners requests and on the spot variations dealt with (without costing us a fortune!). Look forward to inviting them all to our housewarming party.

Alpha 1 built our beautiful home 3 years ago and we will be leaving in a box, we absolutely love it! The architect's plan was very complex but the actual build was carried out so professionally that stress was kept to a minimum. Paul met us weekly with updates so any issues arising were resolved immediately. We would recommend Alpha 1 to anyone planning a major renovation or new build.

In 2009 I purchased a 2 bedroom 30 year old Brick and Tile house north facing on the shores of the Panmure Lagoon. Unbeknownst to me at the time it had won house of the year when constructed all those years before! After living, (and as you do planning), in it a few years, I engaged Alpha 1 Builders carry out the extensive renovations which incorporated ; opening the house out, create two new levels and completely upgrade the house and fittings. All that was left after one week were the external walls. Wrapped in plastic the work began in earnest. Paul's attention to detail and planning meant the build was completed on time and on budget. Of course things changed during the build as they do, but this was made easy by the professional and trademan like care taken by all his staff. Alterations by myself to the original specifications were costed and approved before work was carried out so I never felt concern that the project was running away on me. When Paul suggested that he enter it in house of the year I was enthusiastic and then overjoyed to receive a gold medal. The finished product is a 4 Bedroom easy flowing house with three bathrooms, an enormous rumpus/theater room and open plan Kitchen/Dining and lounge area, opening onto a sweeping sun-drenched deck that displays unobstructed views of the water. Now after three years of living in our house we still enjoy it everyday and find it works well and flows naturally. It's not unusual to sit on one of the superb north facing decks sipping a Flat White gazing out over the waters and pondering the choice of going to work or,,, having another!
