The complete transformation of a 1960’s suburban house was the goal of our clients. Inspired by classic design philosophies and iconic furniture, the homeowners desired a kitchen that provided incredible cooking, a social space, and a simple style that would complement their vision.

The Brief Although the building feels like a traditional Monmouthshire building externally, the clients wanted a modern family home on the interior. Built in 1905, the old coach house was transformed by removing a floor to create a vaulted ceiling and generous kitchen space.

Ultramodern German Kitchen in Cranleigh, Surrey This Cranleigh kitchen makes the most of a bold kitchen theme and our design & supply only fitting option. The Brief This Cranleigh project sought to make use of our design & supply only service, with a design tailored around the sunny extension being built by a contractor at this property. The task for our Horsham based kitchen designer George was to create a design to suit the extension in the works as well as the style and daily habits of these Cranleigh clients. A theme from our Horsham Showroom was a favourable design choice for this project, with adjustments required to fit this space. Design Elements With the core theme of the kitchen all but decided, the layout of the space was a key consideration to ensure the new space would function as required. A clever layout places full-height units along the rear wall of this property with all the key work areas of this kitchen below the three angled windows of the extension. The theme combines dark matt black furniture with ferro bronze accents and a bronze splashback. The handleless profiling throughout is also leant from the display at our Horsham showroom and compliments the ultramodern kitchen theme of black and bronze. To add a further dark element quartz work surfaces have been used in the Vanilla Noir finish from Caesarstone. A nice touch to this project is an in keeping quartz windowsill used above the sink area. Special Inclusions With our completely custom design service, a number of special inclusions have been catered for to add function to the project. A key area of the kitchen where function is added is via the appliances chosen. An array of Neff appliances have been utilised, with high-performance N90 models opted for across a single oven, microwave oven and warming drawer. Elsewhere, full-height fridge and freezers have been integrated behind furniture, with a Neff dishwasher located near to the sink also integrated behind furniture. A popular wine cabinet is fitted within furniture around the island space in this kitchen. Project Highlight The highlight of this project lays within the coordinated design & supply only service provided for this project. Designer George tailored our service to this project, with a professional survey undertaken as soon as the area of the extension was constructed. With any adjustments made, the furniture and appliances were conveniently delivered to site for this client’s builder to install. Our work surface partner then fitted the quartz work surfaces as the final flourish. The End Result This project is a fantastic example of the first-class results that can be achieved using our design & supply only fitting option, with the design perfectly tailored to the building work undertaken – plus timely coordination with the builder working on the project. The understated exterior of our client’s new self-build home barely hints at the property’s more contemporary interiors. In fact, it’s a house brimming with design and sustainable innovation, inside and out.

This kitchen has been expertly designed so that every corner is bursting full of colour! The bowl of fruit ties in with the seating area and the houseplants breath life into the space. The bookshelf houses a spectrum of colours that draws the eye in.

Contemporary kitchen designed for a full-time electric wheelchair user by Adam Thomas of Design Matters KBB Ltd. The kitchen has a large rise and fall worktop with front-mounted controls, a wall mounted microwave in a cupboard that can lower to worktop height, and a rise and fall dining table with castors, useful for dining and working. The extractor has a remote control for full access and the sink area is designed in a sold surface material to the precise depth required by the client, with a raised edge on all four sides of the worktop to contain hot spills. The kitchen cabinets are rigid-built for strength, and the doors are acrylic, which stands up well to knocks and scrapes from wheelchairs. This fully accessible kitchen is flexible enough to adapt to changes of wheelchair and/or cushion and is also comfortable for carers and other members of the family to use. The client's love of sky blue was stunningly incorporated into the design of both their kitchen and bathroom. In the kitchen, the wide use of stainless steel and white keep the mood uplifted and makes for a very practical surface. The glass cabinets mimic clouds, and there is ample lighting to further enhance the effect in this almost windowless kitchen. Triple ovens, built-in sink with Zip tap, integrated fridge and dishwasher, walk-in pantry and clever breakfast bar area, are just some of the features in this kitchen. The bathroom's crisp, blue and white colour scheme is refreshingly lovely and practical. The use of contrasting timber warms the space and echoes the burnished brown tones in the mosaics. The freestanding bath creates a beautiful center piece and the frameless shower whilst spacious, does not crowd the room. Well-chosen tapware and fittings make for a very personlised look.
