We took out an office in opening up the floor plan of this renovation. We designed this home bar complete with sink and beverage fridge which serves guests in the family room and living room. The mother of pearl penny round backsplash catches the light and echoes the coastal theme.

This newly completed custom home project was all about clean lines, symmetry and to keep the home feeling sleek and contemporary but warm and welcoming at the same time. This basement bar is simple and classic, with a touch of fun. The dark matte stain on the custom cabinets makes you stop and stay a while while the glasses sparkling in the glass cabinetry and the lights hitting the iridescent backsplash help draw your eyes throughout the space. Birchwood Construction had the pleasure of working with Jonathan Lee Architects to revitalize this beautiful waterfront cottage. Located in the historic Belvedere Club community, the home's exterior design pays homage to its original 1800s grand Southern style. To honor the iconic look of this era, Birchwood craftsmen cut and shaped custom rafter tails and an elegant, custom-made, screen door. The home is framed by a wraparound front porch providing incomparable Lake Charlevoix views. The interior is embellished with unique flat matte-finished countertops in the kitchen. The raw look complements and contrasts with the high gloss grey tile backsplash. Custom wood paneling captures the cottage feel throughout the rest of the home. The sophisticated wine library adjacent to the kitchen provides a cozy spot for friends and family to gather to share a glass of wine or to catch up on a good book. The striking dark blue cabinets showcase both open and closed storage cabinets and also a tall wine refrigerator that stores over 150 bottles of wine. The quartz countertop provides a durable bar top for entertaining, while built in electrical outlets provide the perfect spot to plug in a blender. Comfortable swivel chairs and a small marble cocktail table creates an intimate seating arrangement for visiting with guests or for unwinding with a good book. The 11' ceiling height and the large picture window add a bit of drama to the space, while an elegant sisal rug keeps the room from being too formal.

Versitile as either a coffee & tea station or a home for your their wine collection, we found the perfect nook for this added function that sits conveniently between the dining area, living area, and kitchen.

With an elegant bar on one side and a cozy fireplace on the other, this sitting room is sure to keep guests happy and entertained. Custom cabinetry and mantel, Neolith counter top and fireplace surround, and shiplap accents finish this room.

A rejuvenation project of the entire first floor of approx. 1700sq. The kitchen was completely redone and redesigned with relocation of all major appliances, construction of a new functioning island and creating a more open and airy feeling in the space. A "window" was opened from the kitchen to the living space to create a connection and practical work area between the kitchen and the new home bar lounge that was constructed in the living space. New dramatic color scheme was used to create a "grandness" felling when you walk in through the front door and accent wall to be designated as the TV wall. The stairs were completely redesigned from wood banisters and carpeted steps to a minimalistic iron design combining the mid-century idea with a bit of a modern Scandinavian look. The old family room was repurposed to be the new official dinning area with a grand buffet cabinet line, dramatic light fixture and a new minimalistic look for the fireplace with 3d white tiles.

36" SubZero Pro Refrigerator anchors one end of the back wall of this basement bar. The other side is a hidden pantry cabinet. The wall cabinets were brought down the countertop and include glass doors and glass shelves. Glass shelves span the width between the cabients and sit in front of a back lit glass panel that adds to the ambiance of the bar. Undercounter wine refrigerators were incorporated on the back wall as well.
