Avondale combines a unique blend of grays and browns, along with a few rustic reds, in a rectangular stone. The block-like stones of this natural stone veneer come in various sizes and create a uniform look while the colors add randomness to your pattern. Avondale works well with small projects like accent walls or fireplaces. Large projects like siding or landscaping walls will help contrast any darker colors on your property. Complete exterior renovation of this 1970's home in Cardiff by the Sea. Re-configured the roof design and added new windows and doors. This is not your traditional bungalow! While it shares some of the hallmarks of this historic home style, this bungalow brings the classic single-story design into the twenty-first century. The black-and-white facade shows a simple, but incredibly well thought out design consisting of mostly straight lines and glass. Modern architecture is all about simple designs where less is more. Clean and uncluttered home exterior trends have gained popularity over the years, as many homeowners are yearning to live peacefully without excess. Clean lines, basic forms, single-use of colour, repetition of structures and strategic use of metal, stone, stucco and glass materials are defining characteristics of this custom home in the upper-scale, inner-city community of North Glenmore Park in Calgary, Alberta.

Whittier natural thin stone veneer from the Quarry Mill adds elegance to the exterior of this residential home. Whitter is a natural quartzite veneer in the dimensional ledgestone style. The pieces of stone are all 3” in height with lengths varying from 6”-18”. Whittier is predominantly white with some cream and light grey tones. The stone will also have some soft brown natural veining within the pieces and softly sparkle in the light. The pieces have been sawn on five sides including the top, bottom, ends, and back. The front shows the split face of the stone with a sandpaper like texture. Installation can be done with or without a mortar joint between the pieces. Whittier is a premium quality imported stone that we have in stock and ready to ship.

The Holloway blends the recent revival of mid-century aesthetics with the timelessness of a country farmhouse. Each façade features playfully arranged windows tucked under steeply pitched gables. Natural wood lapped siding emphasizes this homes more modern elements, while classic white board & batten covers the core of this house. A rustic stone water table wraps around the base and contours down into the rear view-out terrace. Inside, a wide hallway connects the foyer to the den and living spaces through smooth case-less openings. Featuring a grey stone fireplace, tall windows, and vaulted wood ceiling, the living room bridges between the kitchen and den. The kitchen picks up some mid-century through the use of flat-faced upper and lower cabinets with chrome pulls. Richly toned wood chairs and table cap off the dining room, which is surrounded by windows on three sides. The grand staircase, to the left, is viewable from the outside through a set of giant casement windows on the upper landing. A spacious master suite is situated off of this upper landing. Featuring separate closets, a tiled bath with tub and shower, this suite has a perfect view out to the rear yard through the bedroom's rear windows. All the way upstairs, and to the right of the staircase, is four separate bedrooms. Downstairs, under the master suite, is a gymnasium. This gymnasium is connected to the outdoors through an overhead door and is perfect for athletic activities or storing a boat during cold months. Our Client asked us to help them do 2 things. (1) Help them give their house a face lift (2) Build a home for their "Toys". This is a list of what we did: Replaced columns and add rails to their front porch, replaced metal roof over front porch, replaced roof shingles of the entire house, replaced dormer windows, repainted the entire exterior of home, built new driveway, designed and built carport. This house went from Drab to Fab pretty quickly.

With its distinctive C-shaped facade that wraps around from roof to ground, the various heights designed to mimic the movement of waves. First floor cantilevering forms a direct 'floating' connection that also references the nearby sea. This Victorian seaside residence escapes all the cliches long-favoured in beach house design while being cleverly tailored to make the most of it's location and magnificent views over sparkling waters and bobbing yachts at anchor. Inside, a bespoke staircase is a striking interior feature. Designed in consultation with a structural engineer, each solid timber stair tread sits perfectly in between long vertical timber battens without the need for stair stringers. This unique staircase provides a feeling of lightness to complement the floating facade and continuous flow of internal spaces. The exterior is clad with Blackbutt timber and full-height windows on the north-east facade allow passive solar thermal comfort year round. The west facade features large eaves and highlight and slot windows with low-e glass to inhibit heat storage from the sun during summer. A cantilever suspended 2.5 metres from the main bedroom hovers above decking to establish volume and allow views of the sea. It is also a response to Council guidelines that specify the building must provide an aesthetic impact as an integral part of the marina development.
