Honoring the craftsman home but adding an asian feel was the goal of this remodel. The bathroom was designed for 3 boys growing up not their teen years. We wanted something cool and fun, that they can grow into and feel good getting ready in the morning. We removed an exiting walking closet and shifted the shower down a few feet to make room this custom cherry wood built in cabinet. The door, window and baseboards are all made of cherry and have a simple detail that coordinates beautifully with the simple details of this craftsman home. The variation in the green tile is a great combo with the natural red tones of the cherry wood. By adding the black and white matte finish tile, it gave the space a pop of color it much needed to keep it fun and lively. A custom oxblood faux leather mirror will be added to the project along with a lime wash wall paint to complete the original design scheme.

An unconventional and artsy bathroom we recently designed, with the intention of bringing out our client's unique personality while optimizing functionality. This is a very small bathroom, so we decided a sleek floating vanity with pull-out drawers would work best. Additional shelving and towel racks were added above the toilet, offering above the head storage that wouldn't make the space appear or feel smaller. Artistic custom European tiling and light fixtures give this bathroom the unique look we were going for - offering edgy graphics and intriguing "eyeball" style lighting. This traditional Victorian bathroom was a little tired, it needed redecorating, however, the client was happy with the bath and sanitaryware, and wanted to keep the layout. It was previously painted in Farrow & Ball's 'Elephants Breath' with all woodwork in 'Bone', which the client picked over 10 years ago. They fancied a bit of a change and wanted a more dramatic look to go with the rest of the house and decided on Fornasetti's II Acquario wallpaper from Cole & Son's. The client is a huge fan off Fornasetti so it was an easy decision! We chose Myland's paint in 'Sinner', to compliment the wallpaper and really give the room a luxurious and mysterious feel. There is a feature floor underneath the bath with Vicotiran black and white tiles, and the rest of the floor is a subtle dark vinyl. The cast iron roll top bath has also been painted to blend in with the walls. The overall look is very dramatic, and works so well in a small room. We loved this project, and it shows that you can change a small amount of details in a room to give it a completely different style and atmosphere! Holly Christian

The original structure of this hall bathroom was complicated and narrow, with very little storage. We were able to re-use existing locations for the tub/shower and toilet, but bumped back the wall for the vanity to increase the cabinet depth. The vanity design is notched with custom shallow depth drawers, so that the door can fully open with ease. For finishes, we went for timeless and classic tile selections (white subway with black and white hexagon floor), and bold black on the vanity (featuring a black soapstone top. Crystal cabinet knobs tie in beautifully with the crystal door knobs throughout the home.

エクレクティックスタイルの浴室リフォームのデザイン、レイアウト、費用

浴室リフォームの技法には大きく分けて「在来工法」と「ユニットバス (システムバス)」の2通りがあります。

在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、浴室の大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

浴室にプラスアルファでお風呂タイムをもっと楽しく

介護が必要な方には、浴室に浴槽手すりやシャワーチェア、すべり止めマットなどの安全グッズを使って、癒やしの時間を安全にゆっくりと楽しんでもらいましょう。浴室に床暖房を取り入れると、冬場のあのヒンヤリ感がなくなり、ヒートショックの防止に効果が期待できます。大粒のお湯が頭上から降り注ぐように全身を包み込むレインシャワー水栓は、効率的に身体を温めてくれます。また最近では、浴室テレビを装備して、あたたかいお湯に浸かりながらテレビ番組や映画を楽しむ方も増えています。ライフスタイルにあわせて、浴室をカスタマイズしてみてはいかがでしょうか？

ラクラク片付け、快適な浴室！

シャンプーやコンディショナーのボトルや、浴槽洗いのブラシは、ワイヤーラック、つっぱりコーナーラック、吸盤シェルフなど壁面収納グッズを活用して、浴室の使いやすい場所に設置しましょう。ボディスポンジなど、肌に触れるものはお掃除グッズから離れた場所に置き、しっかり水切りができるよう吸盤フックなどにかけるといいでしょう。また、浴室内には必要なアイテムだけをセレクトして置き、余分なモノは浴室外の脱衣所の棚に保管するなどの工夫も、お風呂場を清潔に保つコツです。風呂ふたも、フックやスタンド等を使って収納し、しっかり乾燥させれば、カビやぬめりの発生を防ぐことができます。

ホテルのようなバスルームをつくるコツ

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
