Existing garage converted into an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). The former garage now holds a 400 Sq.Ft. studio apartment that features a full kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen includes built in appliances a washer and dryer alcove.

The stair for this backyard cottage is located on the south wall adjacent to the neighbors garage. High windows were used to let in natural light from up high above the garage. The kitchen is on the east wall facing the primary residence so no windows were placed on that wall the outside of which is now much needed storage for bikes, and garden tools. .

The Clarke street project was a renovation of a 2 bedroom Californian bungalow, we kept the 2 front room and extended the back part of 8th house adding a study, bathroom, laundry, open plan kitchen and living area and went up a level to create a master bedroom, ensuite and walk in robe. the house has an amazing feel, full of natural light from the architectural window back bifold. The back yard is south facing so we added skylights throughout the house to bring in warmth and natural light. The open plan kitchen and living was just the right size to fit a 4 seater dining table and good size couch and sitting space. The

This small 40m² extension is set within an established garden designed by Rick Eckersley. The design aims to make the garden the focus, establishing a visual connection to the large oak tree to the north as well as framing views to the rest of the garden. The form of the extension has been designed to reduce it’s perceived mass from the garden whilst articulating two distinct internal areas; to the south, under the pitched roof section, an area for dining with views up into the tree canopies, and to the north where the roof flattens, an intimate sitting room.
