The design challenge for this loft located in a manufacturing building dating to the late 19th Century was to update it with a more contemporary, modern design, renovate the kitchen and bath, and unify the space while respecting the building’s industrial origins. By rethinking existing spaces and contrasting the rough industrial shell of the building with a sleek modernist interior, the Feinmann team fulfilled the unrealized potential of the space. Working closely with the homeowners, sophisticated materials were chosen to complement a sleek design and completely change the way one experiences the space. For safety, selection of of a stainless steel post and handrail with stainless steel cable was installed preserving the open feel of the loft space and created the strong connection between loft and downstairs living space. In the kitchen, other material choices created the desired contemporary look: custom cabinetry that shows off the wood grain, panelized appliances, crisp white Corian countertops and gunmetal ceramic tiles. In the bath, a simple tub with just sheet of glass instead of a shower curtain keeps the small bath feeling as open as possible. Throughout, a concrete micro-topped floor with multi-color undertones reiterates the building’s industrial origins. Sleek horizontal lines add to the clean modern aesthetic. A streamlined countertop hutch, featuring sleek black metal doors, offers convenient storage for dishware, kitchen necessities, and decor. Integrated lighting elegantly illuminates the items on the shelves, making it an inviting display. The bold black metal doors create a striking contrast against the warm white and stained white oak cabinetry. The focus of the countertop hutch design was to create a practical grab-and-go storage solution, with the powder-coated metal doors taking center stage.

Reubicamos la cocina en el espacio principal del piso, abriéndola a la zona de salón comedor. Aprovechamos su bonita altura para ganar mucho almacenaje superior y enmarcar el conjunto. El comedor lo descentramos para ganar espacio diáfano en la sala y fabricamos un banco plegable para ganar asientos sin ocupar con las sillas. Nos viste la zona de comedor la lámpara restaurada a juego con el tono verde del piso. La cocina es fabricada a KM0. Apostamos por un mostrador porcelánico compuesto de 50% del material reciclado y 100% reciclable al final de su uso. Libre de tóxicos y creado con el mínimo espesor para reducir el impacto material y económico. Los electrodomésticos son de máxima eficiencia energética y están integrados en el interior del mobiliario para minimizar el impacto visual en la sala.

Our clients had previously carried out a lot of work on their old warehouse building to create an industrial feel. They always disliked having the kitchen & living room as separate rooms so, wanted to open up the space. It was important to them to have 1 company that could carry out all of the required works. Design Interiors own team removed the separating wall & flooring along with extending the entrance to the kitchen & under stair cupboards for extra storage. All plumbing & electrical works along with plastering & decorating were carried out by Design Interiors along with the supply & installation of the polished concrete floor & works to the existing windows to achieve a floor to ceiling aesthetic. Tim designed the kitchen in a bespoke texture lacquer door to match the ironmongery throughout the building. Our clients who are keen cooks wanted to have a good surface space to prep whilst keeping the industrial look but, it was a priority for the work surface to be hardwearing. Tim incorporated Dekton worktops to meet this brief & to enhance the industrial look carried the worktop up to provide the splashback. The contemporary design without being a handless look enhances the clients’ own appliances with stainless steel handles to match. The open plan space has a social breakfast bar area which also incorporate’s a clever bifold unit to house the boiler system which was unable to be moved.

Ce duplex de 100m² en région parisienne a fait l’objet d’une rénovation partielle par nos équipes ! L’objectif était de rendre l’appartement à la fois lumineux et convivial avec quelques touches de couleur pour donner du dynamisme. Nous avons commencé par poncer le parquet avant de le repeindre, ainsi que les murs, en blanc franc pour réfléchir la lumière. Le vieil escalier a été remplacé par ce nouveau modèle en acier noir sur mesure qui contraste et apporte du caractère à la pièce. Nous avons entièrement refait la cuisine qui se pare maintenant de belles façades en bois clair qui rappellent la salle à manger. Un sol en béton ciré, ainsi que la crédence et le plan de travail ont été posés par nos équipes, qui donnent un côté loft, que l’on retrouve avec la grande hauteur sous-plafond et la mezzanine. Enfin dans le salon, de petits rangements sur mesure ont été créé, et la décoration colorée donne du peps à l’ensemble.
