Open concept kitchen featuring a 10' island with Calacatta marble counters that waterfall. Italian contemporary cabinets, Dornbracht fixtures and a rock crystal light over the island. All the Subzero and Wolf appliances are integrated into the cabinetry for a clean and streamlined design. The kitchen is open to two living spacing and takes in the expansive views. La Cantina pocketing sliders open up the space to the outdoors.

In the back kitchen area, there's a practical pantry with a coffee station, a built-in microwave drawer, and open shelving with integrated lighting. A stylish panelled refrigerator stands next to a handy shallow pantry for easy access to everyday food essentials.

L'objectif principal de ce projet était de transformer ce 2 pièces en 3 pièces, pour créer une chambre d'enfant. Dans la nouvelle chambre parentale, plus petite, nous avons créé un dressing et un module de rangements sur mesure pour optimiser l'espace. L'espace nuit est délimité par un mur coloré @argilepeinture qui accentue l'ambiance cosy de la chambre. Dans la chambre d'enfant, le parquet en chêne massif @laparquetterienouvelle apporte de la chaleur à cette pièce aux tons clairs. La nouvelle cuisine, tendance et graphique, s'ouvre désormais sur le séjour. Cette grande pièce de vie conviviale accueille un coin bureau et des rangements sur mesure pour répondre aux besoins de nos clients. Quant à la salle d'eau, nous avons choisi des matériaux clairs pour apporter de la lumière à cet espace sans fenêtres. Le résultat : un appartement haussmanien et dans l'air du temps où il fait bon vivre !

This stunning black ply kitchen with grey-finished ply worktop was such a gorgeous, modern addition to the open living area, being a bold but beautiful touch. New appliances were fitted throughout the kitchen, including a sleek induction hob. Open ply finish units and covered storage underneath works beautifully with the black of the other cabinetry, adding small storage space and a space to display treasured books and ornaments. The dining and living areas are visible from the kitchen, with the beautiful plants, wall art and pendant light working beautifully with the kitchen finishes. The reclaimed parquet wood flooring blocks were fitted in a herringbone design, adding a stunning warm touch to the space and replacing the previous lack of flooring in this area, exposed concrete being a reminder of the extension fitted some time ago. Dulux's Brilliant White paint was used to coat the walls and ceiling, being a lovely fresh backdrop for the various furnishings, wall art and plants to be styled in the living area. Underpinning our design notions and considerations for this home were two instinctual ideas: that of our client’s fondness for ‘Old Be-al’ and associated desire for an enhanced connection between the house and the old-growth eucalypt landscape; and our own determined appreciation for the house’s original brickwork, something we hoped to celebrate and re-cast within the existing dwelling. While considering the client’s brief of a two-bedroom, two-bathroom house, our design managed to reduce the overall footprint of the house and provide generous flowing living spaces with deep connection to the natural suburban landscape and the heritage of the existing house. The reference to Old Be-al is constantly reinforced within the detailed design. The custom-made entry light mimics its branches, as does the pulls on the joinery and even the custom towel rails in the bathroom. The dynamically angled ceiling of rhythmically spaced timber cross-beams that extend out to an expansive timber decking are in dialogue with the upper canopy of the surrounding trees. The rhythm of the bushland also finds expression in vertical mullions and horizontal bracing beams, reminiscent of both the trunks and the canopies of the adjacent trees.
