Relooking d'un meuble de famille du Bassin d'Arcachon. Ici, j'ai changé les poignées, laissé le plateau en bois naturel avec un vernis protecteur et peint en blanc le reste du meuble. Pour un déco slow j'ai choisi une lanterne en bois vieilli, des jolies bouteilles en verre chinées, un miroir ancien avec ses petites marques du temps et une horloge juste posée sur le meuble.

The living room's colors were pulled from the large oil painting and the focal point of the room. Navy blue, cream and gold give the room an elegant, yet comfortable feel. A contemporary brass coffee table pairs with a more traditional console and two blue and white printed chairs. Modern lamps in blue and brass, and side tables flank the cream colored linen sofa. Custom roman shades tie in to the fabrics with a blue and white trim.

The finished space under the garage is an ocean lovers dream. The coastal design style is inspired by the client’s Nantucket vacations. The floor plan includes a living room, galley kitchen, guest bedroom and full guest bathroom. Coastal decor elements include a color scheme of orangey red, grey and blue. The wall to wall shiplap, sand colored luxury plank flooring and natural light from the many windows complete this seaside themed guest space.

Project Feature in: Luxe Magazine & Luxury Living Brickell From skiing in the Swiss Alps to water sports in Key Biscayne, a relocation for a Chilean couple with three small children was a sea change. “They’re probably the most opposite places in the world,” says the husband about moving from Switzerland to Miami. The couple fell in love with a tropical modern house in Key Biscayne with architecture by Marta Zubillaga and Juan Jose Zubillaga of Zubillaga Design. The white-stucco home with horizontal planks of red cedar had them at hello due to the open interiors kept bright and airy with limestone and marble plus an abundance of windows. “The light,” the husband says, “is something we loved.” While in Miami on an overseas trip, the wife met with designer Maite Granda, whose style she had seen and liked online. For their interview, the homeowner brought along a photo book she created that essentially offered a roadmap to their family with profiles, likes, sports, and hobbies to navigate through the design. They immediately clicked, and Granda’s passion for designing children’s rooms was a value-added perk that the mother of three appreciated. “She painted a picture for me of each of the kids,” recalls Granda. “She said, ‘My boy is very creative—always building; he loves Legos. My oldest girl is very artistic— always dressing up in costumes, and she likes to sing. The client was excited to purchase a home in the beautiful resort of Sandestin, but was not pleased with the dark interiors, heavy mouldings, tile floors, dated fixtures and heavy feel of the interior of the home. We solved their problems by completely renovating the interiors. Ceilings were raised, floors were replaced, cabinetry and fixtures were replaced and a problem area in the living room was solved. They now have the open, clean, airy beach home of their dreams and I couldn't be more pleased with how this home turned out for them. anthony vallee
