一般的な内装タイルの貼り方は、まず接着剤を塗り広げ、その上にタイルを乗せて圧着していき、最後に目地を塗りこんで完成です。外装タイルの場合は、下地の作成後に基準となるタイルを貼り、モルタル塗布後に実際にタイルを貼ったら、目地を詰めて完成です。
