“The brief for Helen was to inexpensively lighten and modernise our tired lounge-dining room. Helen recommended the following simple changes and this achieved the improved outcome. Painting the dark timber white and adding a white mantelpiece gives it a fresh look. The dark blue lounge previously looked out of place but by putting the single chairs across the window it opens the whole room up to the outside garden. Changing the colour scheme of the walls from beige to light grey and the carpet from cream to a darker grey, tones in perfectly with the existing furniture. By adding the floor rug and cushions in blue and white stripes, and removing some clutter from the shelves, we feel we have a new vibrant living space. All this was achieved with the minimal expense of paint, carpet and a few soft furnishings and of course Helen's great eye for colour and design. We're thrilled with the result!”
