“We had Oakwood Bespoke Joinery completely remodel our kitchen including outside doors and windows. It was a big job. They were working in solid oak, and did a spectacular job in choosing and matching colour and grain to eye-catching effect. The craftsmanship was superb. The installers were careful and took care of all the little details and snags that came up. It took longer than the estimated time to complete and install the entire kitchen, but we kind of expected that in as complicated job as it was. Communication was good. Courtesy and patience were good. We would happily use them again.”

Not only a highly skilled craftsman, Hugh has the ability to take ideas and inspiration as part of a brief bringing them to life prior to starting work. Hugh’s work is faultless, he has a great work ethic and if that wasn’t enough, he is extremely tidy. I have a very old house with unusual proportions, this has not impeded Hugh in any way and any developments he’s had on the job he has always picked up the phone and talked them through. 大工の種類


建築工法が多様化した今日、Oxford, Oxfordshire, UKの大工は仕事の内容によってさまざまな種類に分類されます。

  • 型枠大工：マンションや学校、病院、オフィスビルなど、主要構造部を鉄筋とコンクリートで作られる建築物を扱う職人を指します。型枠大工は、鉄筋コンクリートの型枠の中にコンクリートを流し込んで、柱や床、壁、階段などを作ります。

  • 建て方大工：建て方大工とは、現場で建物の主要な構造材を組み立てる職人を指します。土台の、柱、梁、棟上げを仕上げる作業が建て方大工の仕事です。

    左官とは


    和の邸宅に合うような漆喰壁を施工するというイメージが強い左官職人ですが、モルタルやタイルなどの素材を使って壁を塗る人も含まれます。施工には特に資格は必要ありませんが、国家技能検定である「左官技能士」や「登録左官基幹技能者」という資格を有している職人さんもおり、プロを選ぶ判断の一助となることでしょう。最近ではDIYでも珪藻土の塗り壁の施工を行う人が多いですが、マスキングの技術や、下塗り、(場合によっては) 中塗り、上塗りとその工程は意外と時間がかかり難儀なもの。また、下地に密着しきれずカビが生えてしまった、ひび割れしてしまったなどのトラブルもあるのだそうです。繊細な仕上げを求めるのであれば、プロに左官工事を依頼するのがベストです。
