The in-law suite kitchen could only be in a small corner of the basement. The kitchen design started with the question: how small can this kitchen be? The compact layout was designed to provide generous counter space, comfortable walking clearances, and abundant storage. The bold colors and fun patterns anchored by the warmth of the dark wood flooring create a happy and invigorating space. SQUARE FEET: 140

A mixture of greige (Thistledown) and dark gray (Eclipse) cabinets add a contemporary look to this galley kitchen. Clean, shaker style lines in Crestwood Cabinet’s Cranbrook door style add to that look. The random pattern mosaic tile backsplash is brought up to the ceiling with a floating shelve installed above the sink. The upper trim was painted to match the dark cabinets while the lower trim matches the lighter cabinets. A Blanco undermount sink keeps the Cambria Skara Brae Quartz countertop clean to fully appreciate the beautiful bold movement. The simple, clean faucet was in the former kitchen and goes perfectly in the new space.

This kitchen took a tired, 80’s builder kitchen and revamped it into a personalized gathering space for our wonderful client. The existing space was split up by the dated configuration of eat-in kitchen table area to one side and cramped workspace on the other. It didn’t just under-serve our client’s needs; it flat out discouraged them from using the space. Our client desired an open kitchen with a central gathering space where family and friends could connect. To open things up, we removed the half wall separating the kitchen from the dining room and the wall that blocked sight lines to the family room and created a narrow hallway to the kitchen. The old oak cabinets weren't maximizing storage and were dated and dark. We used Waypoint Living Spaces cabinets in linen white to brighten up the room. On the east wall, we created a hutch-like stack that features an appliance garage that keeps often used countertop appliance on hand but out of sight. The hutch also acts as a transition from the cooking zone to the coffee and wine area. We eliminated the north window that looked onto the entry walkway and activated this wall as storage with refrigerator enclosure and pantry. We opted to leave the east window as-is and incorporated it into the new kitchen layout by creating a window well for growing plants and herbs. The countertops are Pental Quartz in Carrara. The sleek cabinet hardware is from our friends at Amerock in a gorgeous satin champagne bronze. One of the most striking features in the space is the pattern encaustic tile from Tile Shop. The pop of blue in the backsplash adds personality and contrast to the champagne accents. The reclaimed wood cladding surrounding the large east-facing window introduces a quintessential Colorado vibe, and the natural texture balances the crisp white cabinetry and geometric patterned tile. Minimalist modern lighting fixtures from Mitzi by Hudson Valley Lighting provide task lighting over the sink and at the wine/ coffee station. The visual lightness of the sink pendants maintains the openness and visual connection between the kitchen and dining room. Together the elements make for a sophisticated yet casual vibe-- a comfortable chic kitchen. We love the way this space turned out and are so happy that our clients now have such a bright and welcoming gathering space as the heart of their home!

Location was a key factor for the developer of these 72 luxury beachfront condominiums in New Rochelle, NY, offering prime real estate with spectacular water views, all within a short commute to New York City. An unusual aspect of this project was the developer’s commitment to offer prospective buyers completely customizable interior buildouts. The architect and developer teamed with Bilotta to devise a program offering 17 stains, 17 paint finishes and a variety of door styles, giving homeowners total control of their kitchen and bathroom details and accessories, a significant and successful selling point. In this particular unit, sand, surf, and sunshine are transported indoors with light-reflecting white cabinetry atop natural oak flooring, punctuated by a slate blue island that seats five. Practical blue-gray quartz countertops are a complementary echo of the island’s hue. A generous molding treatment emphasizes the tall ceiling height. There’s plenty of room for two pantry cabinets, as well as a wine refrigerator in the island. “Flying Saucer” island pendants and a cubist dining chandelier add contemporary flair. The stunning highlight of each residence is a 30-foot-long wall of glass facing the water. With 2,400- 2,700 square feet apiece, the proportions of the open plan kitchen, dining and family room live like a gracious freestanding home. An elegant kitchen design featuring classic, shaker style doors in Dulux 'Grey Cabin' and benchtops in Caesarstone 'Turbine Grey'. The black Lancanche stove is the centrepiece of the kitchen and is complimented nicely by the black Gessi lever tap and Franke sink. A functional scullery/walk-in-pantry with 2nd sink, can be hidden away behind the sliding door when not in use. H2D transformed this Mercer Island home into a light filled place to enjoy family, friends and the outdoors. The waterfront home had sweeping views of the lake which were obstructed with the original chopped up floor plan. The goal for the renovation was to open up the main floor to create a great room feel between the sitting room, kitchen, dining and living spaces. A new kitchen was designed for the space with warm toned VG fir shaker style cabinets, reclaimed beamed ceiling, expansive island, and large accordion doors out to the deck. The kitchen and dining room are oriented to take advantage of the waterfront views. Other newly remodeled spaces on the main floor include: entry, mudroom, laundry, pantry, and powder. The remodel of the second floor consisted of combining the existing rooms to create a dedicated master suite with bedroom, large spa-like bathroom, and walk in closet.
