This kitchen was huge, but I'll do my best to breakdown the different features. The cabinets are a custom painted white. The countertops are quartz in the kitchen and a high end, translucent piece of quartzite for the island. The floors are a light engineered hardwood. Contemporary. Expansive. Multi-functional. An extensive kitchen renovation was needed to modernize an original design from 1993. Our gut remodel established a seamless new floor plan with two large islands. We lined the perimeter with ample storage and carefully layered creative lighting throughout the space. Contrasting white and walnut cabinets and an oversized copper hood, paired beautifully with a herringbone backsplash and custom live-edge table.

For three years this Westlake Village couple lived in a house that didn't quite fit their needs. With frequent houseguests staying for weeks at a time, the family needed more space, particularly in the cramped kitchen. So began their search for a new home. Though the couple viewed several residences, they realized nothing compared to the space and location of the house they already owned. The family knew JRP by reputation from friends who were JRP clients. After consulting with our team, the couple agreed a whole-home renovation was the way to the dream home they had been searching for. Inspired by top architectural magazines, the couple had a clear vision of how their home should look and feel: a clean, open, modern space with a mix of details that played to the family's lively spirit. The highlight of this new, open floorplan home is the gorgeous kitchen perfect for hosting. The unified palette is soft and beautiful. Clean, bright surfaces underpin strong visual elements such as polished quartz countertops, brushed oak floors, and glass tiles set in a herringbone pattern. A center-island breakfast bar now sits opposite a giant picture window and a show-stopping view of the Santa Monica mountains. Upstairs, the redesigned master bath is what dreams are made of. The double vanity and freestanding tub were rearranged to maximize space while the wood tile floors and stunning rock backsplash add an elemental feel. Holistic Home Renovation -Series 5: "The Kitchen" (See 2-24 Post for full description) Hard to believe when looking at this inviting yet spacious kitchen, that it's predecessor was small, dark and awkward. We ripped out walls, bumped-out 4', added windows and totally reconfigured the layout. Two sinks, 2 dishwashers, chef-ready Wolf range, one-of-a-kind Vent-a-hood custom hood with brass accents, Subzero fridge, elegant furniture-grade cabinetry, Statuary Classique Quartz countertops, Grothouse wood bar and island tops, Dynasty Omega custom cabinetry with soothing Blue Lagoon accent paint are just some of the great features.

Our clients liked the function of their Kitchen and yet were looking for a way to refresh the look and feel while playing off the idea of bringing a small dose of painted cabinetry into the space. The fireplace, beverage center and center island were all painted. The center island also received new paneling detail to spruce it up. Cambria countertops were installed throughout as well as new glass backsplash. We removed their microwave over the previous stove and moved it to the corner pantry area so that a hood vent could be installed. The pantry received a frosted door to break up the sea of oak. Some great rooms are really great! This one features a large taupe grey island with raised bar seating, Off white perimeter cabinets and sturdy utilitarian stools, hardware and light fixtures. The look is eclectic transitional. An intentional cornflower blue accent color is used for glass subway back splash tile, patio door, rugs, and accessories to connect and balance this expansive cheerful space where an active family of seven, occupy every square inch of space. Articulating the floor, these gray porcelain tiles were a great choice for the client. With their non imposing color and white grout, it allows for the floor to truly pop, without taking precedence over the space.
