Mowlem& Co: Virtuoso kitchen This award-winning kitchen by Julia Brown effortlessly combines the classic with the contemporary, through the application of thoughtful styling and a clever use of colour. The timeless framed, shaker-style furniture is hand-painted in Farrow & Ball’s Railings, making a striking contrast with use of a Caesarstone worktop in raw concrete to the island unit and the beautiful Carrara Gioia marble on the splashback. There’s an industrial quality to the chocolate bronze metal handles that are recessed into the furniture doors, and the Siemens ovens are discreetly integrated to the island, which is raised on robust legs for a nod to the chic freestanding look. The design maximises both working space and opportunities for social interaction, with storage optimised by the extra height wall units that take advantage of the period property’s high ceilings. Pendant lamps, stylish stools and a herringbone white-washed Oak wooden floor add the perfect finishing touches.

From architecture to finishing touches, this Napa Valley home exudes elegance, sophistication and rustic charm. The bright and inviting kitchen includes a spacious island that accommodates seating. This rustic/contemporary space was designed for HGTV House Hunters Renovation. In this space you will see the kitchen/dining room & living room. Textured subway tile was added as the back splash to give the space depth, while the medium color hardwood helped bring your eye up in the space.

Just a sneak peak of this kitchen. We made all of the cabinets in our shop, but this range hood is special. ship lap accents in Benjamin Moore's Polo blue. The walnut shelves pull the walnut butcher block 10 ft island top up the walls. The subway tile has a dark grey grout. The octagon floor makes you think you are in Europe with the distressed feeling. I found these shelf brackets in a little shop in Quebec. I just love them! I'd show the whole kitchen but the clients want that view reserved for special guests and family. :-).

Before, the kitchen was clustered into one corner and wasted a lot of space. We re-arranged everything to create this more linear layout, creating significantly more storage and a much more functional layout. We removed all the travertine flooring throughout the entrance and in the kitchen and installed new porcelain tile flooring that matched the new color palette. As artists themselves, our clients brought in very creative, hand selected pieces and incorporated their love for flying by adding airplane elements into the design that you see throughout. For the cabinetry, they selected an espresso color for the perimeter that goes all the way to the 10' high ceilings along with marble quartz countertops. We incorporated lift up appliance garage systems, utensil pull outs, roll out shelving and pull out trash for ease of use and organization. The 12' island has grey painted cabinetry with tons of storage, seating and tying back in the espresso cabinetry with the legs and decorative island end cap along with "chicken feeder" pendants they created. The range wall is the biggest focal point with the accent tile our clients found that is meant to duplicate the look of vintage metal pressed ceilings, along with a gorgeous Italian range, pot filler and fun blue accent tile. When re-arranging the kitchen and removing walls, we added a custom stained French door that allows them to close off the other living areas on that side of the house. There was this unused space in that corner, that now became a fun coffee bar station with stained turquoise cabinetry, butcher block counter for added warmth and the fun accent tile backsplash our clients found. We white-washed the fireplace to have it blend more in with the new color palette and our clients re-incorporated their wood feature wall that was in a previous home and each piece was hand selected. Everything came together in such a fun, creative way that really shows their personality and character.

This rustic/contemporary space was designed for HGTV House Hunters Renovation. In this space you will see the kitchen/dining room & living room. A slim dark wood dining table, natural wood bench and slim metal dining chairs make this space open and easy to get to. Adding large colorful abstract art above the dining area gives the space movement and texture.

A gorgeous custom range hood helps complete the look of the kitchen's focal point. The industrial feel is softened by the rustic beams and white cabinetry. White subway tile provides the perfect all white kitchen look. Architect: Meyer Design Builder: Lakewest Custom Homes
