Indonesian hardwood deck with poured concrete bench seat. Designed round pavers act as whimsy sea spray between the two outdoor living spaces. Prefab spa set below ground into a concrete holding and allows a perceived in ground pool.

The transformation from a registered landslide hillside to a stunning garden oasis, is truly breathtaking. The pool was updated and the Corten steel arbor cleverly cantilevered on this 5 acre property. Using a crib wall system (Slope Block) allowed us to create lush terraces from toe to top - garden pathways lined with boulders create the illusion they were always there. The Slope Block was acid stained and planted so they eye can see just a hint of the bones through the lush California and Australian native plants and trees.

Backyard access on the side leading to the pool features low maintenance plantings, which when mature, will be a pleasing mass of greenery. Shoulder height landscaping screens hide from view the air conditioner, new whole home generator and pool equipment. True backyard efficiency, with no detail overlooked.

Located in one of Pasadena's finest neighborhoods, this Marston & Mayberry-designed Mediterranean estate is adjacent to the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens. Originally built in 1928 and painstaking re-constructed in 2007/2008, the entire property was meticulously renovated by our clients.
The end result is a stunning unification of old world craftsmanship exquisitely integrated with modern amenities that affords a graciously elegant yet comfortable environment.
