Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom. The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space. In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The client wanted an all new bathroom with a few luxuries like a soaking tub, radiant heat flooring, double sinks (in a tight space) and heated towel bar with a completely different aesthetic than their existing bathroom.

Hall bath redesigned to include a curbless shower and stunning gold accents. Complete with a wallpaper feature wall, floating vanity, large format floor tile, pink hexagon shower tiles and a lighted niche.

The clients did not care for a tub in this bathroom, so we constructed a spacious full shower instead, with a niche and bench that is tiled in a beautiful sage green tile arranged in a vertical stack pattern. These colors and patterns fit in seamlessly with the Mid-Century Modern style! When designing the vanity, the clients opted for a more modern look by choosing a floating vanity, meaning the cabinets hang off the wall and do not touch the ground. The cabinet doors are a slab style, which means there is no paneling or decoration of any kind; which is another very modern touch. The vanity was made of maple wood and was finished in a warm golden stain. The vanity was topped with a stunning sparkling white flecked quartz with a 3-inch edge cap, which gives the illusion of a much thicker countertop. This bathroom also included a Japanese-style toilet, with features such as a seat warmer and bidet. To illuminate the space further, we installed two recessed can lights in addition to spectacular globe-shaped vanity lights- which is a key element in Mid-Century Modern design. Now, to finish out the space! We installed stunning marble-look hexagon tiles for the bathroom and shower floors and opted for striking champagne bronze fixtures to complete this Mid-Century Modern aesthetic.

The guest bathroom was designed to hold as much storage as possible while being influenced by the mid-century modern style. We achieved this look by installing textured porcelain tile, white quartz countertops, walnut cabinets and sprinkled with brass metals.

We designed and renovated a Mid-Century Modern home into an ADA compliant home with an open floor plan and updated feel. We incorporated many of the homes original details while modernizing them. We converted the existing two car garage into a master suite and walk in closet, designing a master bathroom with an ADA vanity and curb-less shower. We redesigned the existing living room fireplace creating an artistic focal point in the room. The project came with its share of challenges which we were able to creatively solve, resulting in what our homeowners feel is their first and forever home. This beautiful home won three design awards: • Pro Remodeler Design Award – 2019 Platinum Award for Universal/Better Living Design • Chrysalis Award – 2019 Regional Award for Residential Universal Design • Qualified Remodeler Master Design Awards – 2019 Bronze Award for Universal Design

The dynamic HGTV duo Heather and Brad of Fox Homes brought Minnesota to Palm Springs and created the most picturesque Eichler house we've ever seen. As if the mountain view and crystal blue swimming pool weren't enough, it's filled with beautiful design, furniture, murals, and handmade tile all from Minnesota. Featured on Modernism Week for it's gorgeous Mid-Century Modern design, this stylish house is the ultimate vacation spot. Eichler homes were developed in California by Joseph Eichler starting in the 1950s. These architectural masterpieces are known for their Mid-Century Modern style. Often found in the Bay Area, these houses are full of sleek lines, traditional materials and minimal design. After reviving their kitchen, this couple was ready to tackle the master bathroom by getting rid of some Venetian plaster and a built in tub, removing fur downs and a bulky shower surround, and just making the entire space feel lighter, brighter, and bringing into a more mid-century style space. The cabinet is a freestanding furniture piece that we allowed the homeowner to purchase themselves to save a little bit on cost, and it came with prefabricated with a counter and undermount sinks. We installed 2 floating shelves in walnut above the commode to match the vanity piece. The faucets are Hansgrohe Talis S widespread in chrome, and the tub filler is from the same collection. The shower control, also from Hansgrohe, is the Ecostat S Pressure Balance with a Croma SAM Set Plus shower head set. The gorgeous freestanding soaking tub if from Jason - the Forma collection. The commode is a Toto Drake II two-piece, elongated. Tile was really fun to play with in this space so there is a pretty good mix. The floor tile is from Daltile in their Fabric Art Modern Textile in white. We kept is fairly simple on the vanity back wall, shower walls and tub surround walls with an Interceramic IC Brites White in their wall tile collection. A 1" hex on the shower floor is from Daltile - the Keystones collection. The accent tiles were very fun to choose and we settled on Daltile Natural Hues - Paprika in the shower, and Jade by the tub. The wall color was updated to a neutral Gray Screen from Sherwin Williams, with Extra White as the ceiling color.

This mid century modern home, built in 1957, suffered a fire and poor repairs over twenty years ago. A cohesive approach of restoration and remodeling resulted in this newly modern home which preserves original features and brings living spaces into the 21st century. Photography by Atlantic Archives
