Working with Christine at Breathe Design Studio was all about exploring possibilities. We didn't know if it would be possible to find living room furniture for our high-rise apartment that wouldn't block the view. We did. We had never considered a color palette that was based on dark tones for the walls. It's stunning. We had never ordered furniture directly from Italy before. And that opened a whole new world of possibilities. Working with Christine helped us step outside our comfort zone and that's a wonderful place to be.

There is a long list of things that continue to impress me about Christine and her team at Breathe Design. What I am most pleased with is the fact that she focused on how I wanted each space in the house to make me feel! Once she understood that she was able to bring this vision to life through design (color, texture, shape, layout) and it’s better than I ever could have imagined. She helped make my new house feel like my home. I couldn’t be happier!

Christine and Ava at Breathe Design Studio were a pleasure to work with and we were very happy with their recommendations and ideas. We had a difficult design project that required a lot of different rooms and some odd spaces that demanded outside-the-box thinking and a lot of patience as we tried to convey what we were going for without having the vocabulary or the specific ideas to adequately describe it. Christine brought a lot of beautiful and clever ideas to the table to give life to our project and pull it all together. Her suggestions for tile, paint colors, plumbing fixtures and room design were different and cool and the kinds of things we would have never thought of on our own, which is exactly what we wanted when we hired a designer. She was very good about explaining to us why certain things would look good or would not look good and helped us come to the right decisions by offering compelling options but not overwhelming us with alternatives. She was also very flexible and worked with us on budgeting and project scope. Finally, she provided drawings and lists or materials, paint colors, tiles and fixtures for each room so that we were able to provide our builder a blueprint for each area to help him understand those aspects of the project. Christine and Ava were also continually available to answer questions after they had completed their designs, which was a tremendous help as construction evolved and selections became incompatible or unavailable. Christine and Ava were also pleasure to interact with. They were not just smart and efficient but friendly and fun.

Christine and Ava were amazing to work with. We were first-time home owners looking to put our stamp on our new house, but we really had no idea what aesthetic we liked or how much it would cost. Christine and Ava helped us through each step of the process and the outcome is amazing. We did both the design and project management stages with Breathe and were very happy that we did both. Everyday we come home appreciating the work and assistance from Christine and Ava. From the overall aesthetic to the small details, Christine and Ava did a tremendous job. We were not the easiest clients and had a unique layout in our living area, but Christine and Ava created a space that fits us and that we love.

Christine has impeccable taste and an incredible eye for design — she helped breathe new life into our space. Our home was feeling stale and stuck in a limbo between different motifs. Christine helped reach our goals of making our modern home feel warm and inviting with some impactful and easy-to-execute ideas. I always thought working with a designer meant breaking the bank on new furnishings but she taught me how to use what o have and create a beautiful space through arrangement, editing, and telling stories with art and decor. I’m so lucky to have worked with her and now I love my home!

I hired Christine to help make furniture and lighting selections, and also to transform the bright open master bedroom into something dark, moody, and cozy. She did an excellent job.

Christine did a phenomenal job helping me furnish and decorate my condo within a fairly tight budget. She spent time with me getting to know my taste and absolutely nailed the final product. There are so many cookie-cutter designers out there who have a single style that they apply to all clients, and Christine is not one of them. The work she did for me was inventive and edgy and she presented me with ideas and items that I would have never purchased on my own, but somehow they fit so perfectly with the space. Other than her knack for interior design and creative talent, she was very well organized and professional. She was responsive via email and over the phone and used a single platform for sharing ideas and for the final deliverable. A few years ago, my husband and I downsized into new construction with the belief that when we moved into it we would make it our own. And in a way it was, but it was still a little bit generic. About a year ago we started working with Christine at Breathe Design, and through three small projects (selecting a rug, design and build of bookshelves, and lighting updates) she has already done more to make this “our” home than I had imagined possible. I was initially skeptical about working with Christine because I’ve seen her work in her own home (check out the Spring 2017 Austin Home magazine) and it’s gorgeous but more monochromatic than my taste. But she helped us to balance my love of color with thoughtful and original design to showcase our beloved collections without overpowering the smaller space. For each project she has developed a range of options that take into account the things we love, the money we can spend, and local and/or ethical sourcing of materials. Christine is a great listener, willing to go back to the drawing board to ensure that we’re happy with a project. But she also brings an intelligent and unique sensibility to the process that breaks through my preconceived notions of what is possible. She has helped to rethink our space to create something new that still feels familiar, comfortable, and beautiful in our own home.
