Living room with sweeping views of Lake Washington and the surrounding evergreens. A lighted cabinet separates the living room from the dining room, and house trinkets and artifacts from travels.

The centrepiece to the living area is a beautiful stone column fireplace (gas powered) and set off with a wood mantle, as well as an integrated bench that ties together the entertainment area. In an adjacent area is the dining space, which is framed by a large wood post and lintel system, providing end pieces to a large countertop. The side facing the dining area is perfect for a buffet, but also acts as a room divider for the home office beyond. The opposite side of the counter is a dry bar set up with wine fridge and storage, perfect for adapting the space for large gatherings.

H2D transformed this Mercer Island home into a light filled place to enjoy family, friends and the outdoors. The waterfront home had sweeping views of the lake which were obstructed with the original chopped up floor plan. The goal for the renovation was to open up the main floor to create a great room feel between the sitting room, kitchen, dining and living spaces. A new kitchen was designed for the space with warm toned VG fir shaker style cabinets, reclaimed beamed ceiling, expansive island, and large accordion doors out to the deck. The kitchen and dining room are oriented to take advantage of the waterfront views. Other newly remodeled spaces on the main floor include: entry, mudroom, laundry, pantry, and powder. The remodel of the second floor consisted of combining the existing rooms to create a dedicated master suite with bedroom, large spa-like bathroom, and walk in closet. Uniquely situated on a double lot high above the river, this home stands proudly amongst the wooded backdrop. The homeowner's decision for the two-toned siding with dark stained cedar beams fits well with the natural setting. Tour this 2,000 sq ft open plan home with unique spaces above the garage and in the daylight basement.

The cozy Mid Century Modern family room features an original stacked stone fireplace and exposed ceiling beams. The bright and open space provides the perfect entertaining area for friends and family. A glimpse into the adjacent kitchen reveals walnut barstools and a striking mix of kitchen cabinet colors in deep blue and walnut.

Built into the hillside, this industrial ranch sprawls across the site, taking advantage of views of the landscape. A metal structure ties together multiple ranch buildings with a modern, sleek interior that serves as a gallery for the owners collected works of art. A welcoming, airy bridge is located at the main entrance, and spans a unique water feature flowing beneath into a private trout pond below, where the owner can fly fish directly from the man-cave!

For this special renovation project, our clients had a clear vision of what they wanted their living space to end up looking like, and the end result is truly jaw-dropping. The main floor was completely refreshed and the main living area opened up. The existing vaulted cedar ceilings were refurbished, and a new vaulted cedar ceiling was added above the newly opened up kitchen to match. The kitchen itself was transformed into a gorgeous open entertaining area with a massive island and top-of-the-line appliances that any chef would be proud of. A unique venetian plaster canopy housing the range hood fan sits above the exclusive Italian gas range. The fireplace was refinished with a new wood mantle and stacked stone surround, becoming the centrepiece of the living room, and is complemented by the beautifully refinished parquet wood floors. New hardwood floors were installed throughout the rest of the main floor, and a new railings added throughout. The family room in the back was remodeled with another venetian plaster feature surrounding the fireplace, along with a wood mantle and custom floating shelves on either side. New windows were added to this room allowing more light to come in, and offering beautiful views into the large backyard. A large wrap around custom desk and shelves were added to the den, creating a very functional work space for several people. Our clients are super happy about their renovation and so are we! It turned out beautiful!

This was a main floor interior design and renovation. Included opening up the wall between kitchen and dining, trim accent walls, beamed ceiling, stone fireplace, wall of windows, double entry front door, hardwood flooring.
