Interior design by others Our architecture team was proud to design this traditional, cottage inspired home that is tucked within a developed residential location in St. Louis County. The main levels account for 6097 Sq Ft and an additional 1300 Sq Ft was reserved for the lower level. The homeowner requested a unique design that would provide backyard privacy from the street and an open floor plan in public spaces, but privacy in the master suite. Challenges of this home design included a narrow corner lot build site, building height restrictions and corner lot setback restrictions. The floorplan design was tailored to this corner lot and oriented to take full advantage of southern sun in the rear courtyard and pool terrace area. There are many notable spaces and visual design elements of this custom 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom brick cottage home. A mostly brick exterior with cut stone entry surround and entry terrace gardens helps create a cozy feel even before entering the home. Special spaces like a covered outdoor lanai, private southern terrace and second floor study nook create a pleasurable every-day living environment. For indoor entertainment, a lower level rec room, gallery, bar, lounge, and media room were also planned.

Having previously worked on the clients existing property in Great Pulteney Street, we were approached and asked to get involved with the project as design consultants for all aspects of the interior. Although not involved with the construction of the building, the team and I came up with concept ideas for the kitchen, utility room, boot room, study/library, guest bedroom furniture and the master dressing room and en-suite. The concept for the kitchen design was driven in part by the huge hexagonal entrance atrium that leads directly into the kitchen area. The initial designs were developed into working drawings. The statement piece for the kitchen is the large ceiling bulkhead and in order to make sure it worked aesthetically, we made a full size section that would enable the clients to fully visualise how the finished piece would look. The American Black Walnut panelling was chosen to compliment some of the client’s existing furniture, this material is used throughout the construction of the kitchen cabinets, with the paint colour of the door fronts complimenting the colour of all the building’s exterior doors and windows. The brief for the master bedroom dressing room and en-suite was to exude the qualities of some of the world’s most prestigious hotel suites, therefore we used solid oak frames with full bur oak panels for the beautiful, handmade furniture. Finally, we were instructed to bring a unique design to all of the guest bedrooms and the library furniture, the former being encapsulated by each room’s bespoke wardrobe design. We are incredibly proud that the clients should choose to work with the Stephen Graver Ltd team again, putting their trust in us to create an incredible finish with exacting standards of design and quality within a property that deserves it!

Step into this beautiful Laundry Room & Mud Room, though this space is aesthetically stunning it functions on many levels. The space as a whole offers a spot for winter coats and muddy boots to come off and be hung up. The porcelain tile floors will have no problem holding up to winter salt. Mean while if the kids do come inside with wet cloths from the harsh Rochester, NY winters their hats can get hung right up on the laundry room hanging rob and snow damped cloths can go straight into the washer and dryer. Wash away stains in the Stainless Steel undermount sink. Once laundry is all said and done, you can do the folding right on the white Quartz counter. A spot was designated to store things for the family dog and a place for him to have his meals. The powder room completes the space by giving the family a spot to wash up before dinner at the porcelain pedestal sink and grab a fresh towel out of the custom built-in cabinetry.

Entered by a pocket door, the laundry room is anchored by a beautiful black and white, patterned, cement tile floor. The white shaker cabinets feature eye catching hardware. After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel. We created a modern, functional mud room using custom cabinetry, a storage bench and coat hooks, taking advantage of every inch of space in the original narrow mud room. Packed with loads of easy organizing and storage capacity, this beautiful room scores big on practical style.

Bright, fresh and loaded with detail. This 1990’s kitchen has undergone a great transformation. The newly remodeled kitchen features beautiful maple Bridgeport Recessed Brookhaven cabinetry in an opaque Nordic White finish with Bridgeport recessed door style. The cabinets are stacked with glass uppers to the ceiling and topped with gorgeous crown molding. LED lighting was installed inside the cabinets to illuminate displayed glassware all the way around the perimeter. The white cabinets and granite Super White countertops are accented with a large scale gray subway tile backsplash. A large walk in pantry was also created. A wet bar with a custom wine rack and wine fridge just outside the kitchen in the dining and living area gives guest a gathering place out of cook’s way. The mudroom/laundry room is directly off the kitchen and was reconfigured with a new, more functional layout and also features new Brookhaven cabinetry in fresh white. The entry area has new custom built cubbies for additional storage. The remodeled laundry room mimics the new kitchen cabinetry and materials with more pocketbook friendly finishes and materials. We included a spot for a built-in kennel for our clients' Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

A two story rear home bump out addition to expand the living space of the newly renovated home. The first floor addition created a breakfast table nook for the first floor kitchen open concept and the second floor additional added a beautiful view to the back yard for a large contemporary freestanding tub at the master bathroom. New black Pella windows were also updated as well as new Hardie Fiber Cement Siding.
