While renovating the main living spaces we gave the kitchen a quick facelift so it could flow with the living spaces better. The kitchen will be fully renovated with new extension and rooflight installation later.

Diese offene Küche bereicherten wir um eine Theke als bequemen Sitzplatz für einen genüsslichen Kaffee und das Gespräch zwischen den Anwesenden. Viele Schubladen bieten reichlich Stauraum, selbst der tote Winkel unter der Theke ist als Schrank von der Wohnzimmerseite aus zu nutzen. Die warme, geölte Holzarbeitsplatte kontrastiert harmonisch mit der glatten, glänzenden Front. Thematisch achteten wir darauf, dass die Theke punktgenau auf die Fuge zwischen Holzparkett und Schieferboden trifft, um den Übergang vom Wohn- zum Küchenbereich zu unterstreichen. Passend dazu verlängerten wir mit einfachen Mitteln die rechte Seitenwand, die so die Hochschrankzeile bis zu ihrem Sockel geschickt verbirgt. Mit diesen Stilmitteln erscheinen nun beide Räume eigenständig und sind doch untrennbar miteinander verbunden.

A private client with plans to convert a cluster of agricultural buildings in South Devon and an unscheduled visit to our London showroom led to the fitting out and furnishing of the whole house. The project started in the kitchen where a combination of Artematica and Sine Tempore units from Valcucine were combined to create a very individual solution to the clients’ requirements. On to the main dining and morning room areas which feature tables and seating from Valcucine, Walter Knoll and Cassina… Grande Suite from Walter Knoll was selected for the main Lounge area with an open study area beyond. The storage system was manufactured by Lema and seating was supplied by Poltrona Frau and Driade. This is essentially a retirement home which can accommodate an enlarged family for high days and holidays. The accommodation would not be complete without a large social area for those rainy days featuring a bar area with seating by Cassina and a curved seating unit by Minotti to enjoy those feature length movies. This is a large house and there is lots more… Bedroom furniture by Lema, Novamobili and Zanotta and a second kitchen in the guest suite featuring the Demode kitchen from Valcucine.

THE APARTMENT NEXT TO THE PARK It is not often the case that an architect has a chance to work for someone he knows well and truly likes. I was lucky to design the investor’s former apartment some years ago which was a big advantage. We kicked off with mutual trust and understanding. We both wanted to design a luxurious urban apartment for an active businesswoman. Four-storey apartment building was erected on the edge of one of Warsaw parks. The place, immersed in stunning nature, is only 10 minutes’ drive from the city center. It is an excellent, prestigious location. From east and south the 160 square meters apartment is surrounded by large terraces that enlarge available space by additional 60 square meters. From the level of the second floor the apartment overlooks heavily-wooded park with a picturesque lake and a hill with a ski-lift. Living area of this open to three sides apartment is penetrated by the sun from dusk till dawn. The budget was considerable because of high standards of solutions used by the developer, particularly ventilation and heating installations as well as smart installation in KNX standard. The photo shoots and the publication (CZAS NA WNĘTRZE 10/2019) were a great pleasure. I am also pleased to announce: "...Architect Roland Stanczyk (RS Studio Projektowe) has won The European Property Award in the category of Interior Design Apartment with “The Apartment Next to the Park”. The award ceremony will take place at The Royal Lancaster Hotel on 24th October 2019 in London."
