Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom. The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space. In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The large mint cabinets add a lighter touch to the space. --- Project designed by the Atomic Ranch featured modern designers at Breathe Design Studio. La zona de lavadero, con su lavadora y secadora, está perfectamente integrada en el espacio con unos muebles diseñados y lacados a medida. La clienta es una enamorada de los detalles vintage y encargamos para tal efecto una pila de mármol macael para integrarlo sobre una encimera de porcelánico de una pieza. Enmarcando el conjunto, instalamos unos azulejos rústicos en color mostaza.

This Mid Century inspired kitchen was manufactured for a couple who definitely didn't want a traditional 'new' fitted kitchen as part of their extension to a 1930's house in a desirable Manchester suburb. The key themes that were important to the clients for this project were: Nostalgia- fond memories how a grandmother's kitchen used to feel and furniture and soft furnishings the couple had owned or liked over the years, even Culshaw's own Hivehaus kitchenette that the couple had fallen for on a visit to our showroom a few years ago. Mix and match - creating something that had a very mixed media approach with the warm and harmonius use of solid wood, painted surfaces in varied colours, metal, glass, stone, ceramic and formica. Flow - The couple thought very carefully about the building project as a whole but particularly the kitchen. They wanted an adaptable space that suited how they wanted to live, a social space close to kitchen and garden, a place to watch movies, partitions which could close off spaces if necessary. Practicality: A place for everything in the kitchen, a sense of order compared to the chaos that was their old kitchen (which lived where the utility now proudly stands). Being a bespoke kitchen manufacturer we listened, drew, modelled, visualised, handcrafted and fitted a beautiful kitchen that is truly a reflection of the couple's tastes and aspirations of how they wanted to live - now that is design! In this kitchen, Waypoint 650F Shaker Door Cabinets in Painted LInen were installed. MSI Mystic Gray Quartz was installed on the countertop and Ceramic mosaic 1x3 Lattice Weave tile in Arctic white was installed on the backsplash. Crosstown undermount stainless steel sink with Avado pull-out faucet in Lustrous Steel. On the floor in the kitchen and flight of stairs and landing is Adura Flex LVP 6x48 planks Kona Sunrise.

The kitchen was designed in Starmark Cabinetry's Maple Cosmopolitan featuring a tuxedo style with White and Graphite finishes. The Vicostone quartz counters are Sparkling Grey Poilshed. Hardware is from Hickory Hardware in Verona Bronze. Appliances from GE in Slate with a Sharp microwave drawer.

What a transformation! We first enlarged the opening from the dining area and kitchen to bring the two spaces together. We were able to take out the soffit in the kitchen and used cabinets to the ceiling making the space feel larger. The curved countertop extends into the dining room area providing a place to sit for morning coffee and a chat with the cook!

Designed by Catherine Neitzey of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Fredericksburg, VA in collaboration with Joe Cristifulli and Cristifulli Custom Homes, this kitchen remodeling project features a transitional modern cottage style inspired kitchen design with Merillat Masterpiece Cabinetry in the door style Martel in Maple with Painted Bonsai finish. The kitchen countertops are Emerstone Quartz Alabaster Gold with a Kohler Whitehaven sink. “Being part of creating this warm, texture rich, open kitchen was such a pleasure. The artist homeowner had an amazing vision from the beginning to launch the design work,” said Cat. “Starting with her watercolor thumbnails, we met repeatedly before the walls started coming out to set the floor plan. Working with a supportive general contractor, the space transformed from 1978 to a modern showplace with nods to craftsman cottage style.” “The muted green tone is a great backdrop for the lake views the home offers. We settled on an island design, adding storage without taking wall space away. The homeowner took such care with each decision to pull off integration of fresh, clean, lined modern elements, mixed metals, reclaimed woods and antiques. The layered textures bringing warmth to the space is something I hope to take with me for future projects!” In addition to the kitchen, the bathroom was remodeled as well. It includes a Merillat Classic vanity cabinet in the Glenrock door style with 5-piece drawer front in the Boardwalk finish and a Virginia Marble cultured marble wave bowl vanity top in the color Bright White. This renovation is a stunning use of space! Windows, walls, and doorways were removed to completely open up the space, and have a huge kitchen, with massive island. The unique angle of the back wall made for an interesting design challenge, but keeping the colours, and design simple made it look planned. Venting made a bulkhead necessary, but working with the builder allowed us to turn an unsightly eyesore into a feature.
