Designed by Paula Truchon of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Frederick, MD in collaboration with Faber Custom Builders, this Rustic inspired kitchen design features Greenfield Cabinetry in the Augusta door style in 2 finishes. The perimeter kitchen cabinets feature Knotty Alder with the Federal finish. The island cabinets feature a paintable Cityscape finish. Kitchen countertops are granite in the color Steel Gray with a leathered finish. The kitchen tile backsplash features Unicom Starker Natural Slate Multi-color in 12x12 sheets. Our clients wanted to update their kitchen and create more storage space. They also needed a desk area in the kitchen and a display area for family keepsakes. With small children, they were not using the breakfast bar on the island, so we chose when redesigning the island to add storage instead of having the countertop overhang for seating. We extended the height of the cabinetry also. A desk area with 2 file drawers and mail sorting cubbies was created so the homeowners could have a place to organize their bills, charge their electronics, and pay bills. We also installed 2 plugs into the narrow bookcase to the right of the desk area with USB plugs for charging phones and tablets. Our clients chose a cherry craftsman cabinet style with simple cups and knobs in brushed stainless steel. For the countertops, Silestone Copper Mist was chosen. It is a gorgeous slate blue hue with copper flecks. To compliment this choice, I custom designed this slate backsplash using multiple colors of slate. This unique, natural stone, geometric backsplash complemented the countertops and the cabinetry style perfectly. We installed a pot filler over the cooktop and a pull-out spice cabinet to the right of the cooktop. To utilize counterspace, the microwave was installed into a wall cabinet to the right of the cooktop. We moved the sink and dishwasher into the island and placed a pull-out garbage and recycling drawer to the left of the sink. An appliance lift was also installed for a Kitchenaid mixer to be stored easily without ever having to lift it. To improve the lighting in the kitchen and great room which has a vaulted pine tongue and groove ceiling, we designed and installed hollow beams to run the electricity through from the kitchen to the fireplace. For the island we installed 3 pendants and 4 down lights to provide ample lighting at the island. All lighting was put onto dimmer switches. We installed new down lighting along the cooktop wall. For the great room, we installed track lighting and attached it to the sides of the beams and used directional lights to provide lighting for the great room and to light up the fireplace. The beautiful home in the woods, now has an updated, modern kitchen and fantastic lighting which our clients love.

This European kitchen has several different areas and functions. Each area has its own specific details but are tied together with distinctive farmhouse feel, created by combining medium wood and white cabinetry, different styles of cabinetry, mixed metals, warm, earth toned tile floors, blue granite countertops and a subtle blue and white backsplash. The hand-hammered copper counter on the peninsula ties in with the hammered copper farmhouse sink. The blue azul granite countertops have a deep layer of texture and beautifully play off the blue and white Italian tile backsplash and accent wall. The high gloss black hood was custom-made and has chrome banding. The French Lacanche stove has soft gold controls. This kitchen also has radiant heat under its earth toned limestone floors. A special feature of this kitchen is the wood burning stove. Part of the original 1904 house, we repainted it and set it on a platform. We made the platform a cohesive part of the space defining wall by using a herringbone pattern trim, fluted porcelain tile and crown moulding with roping. The office area’s built in desk and cabinets provide a convenient work and storage space. Topping the room off is a coffered ceiling. In this classic English Tudor home located in Penn Valley, PA, we renovated the kitchen, mudroom, deck, patio, and the exterior walkways and driveway. The European kitchen features high end finishes and appliances, and heated floors for year-round comfort! The outdoor areas are spacious and inviting. The open trellis over the hot tub provides just the right amount of shelter. These clients were referred to us by their architect, and we had a great time working with them to mix classic European styles in with contemporary, current spaces. Built in 1997, and featuring a lot of warmth and slate stone throughout - the design scope for this renovation was to bring in a more transitional style that would help calm down some of the existing elements, modernize and ultimately capture the serenity of living at the lake.

Bold, bright and beautiful. Just three of the many words we could use to describe the insanely cool Redhill Kitchen. The bespoke J-Groove cabinetry keeps this kitchen sleek and smooth, with light reflecting off the slab doors to keep the room open and spacious. Oak accents throughout the room softens the bold blue cabinetry, and grey tiles create a beautiful contrast between the two blues in the the room. Integrated appliances ensure that the burgundy Rangemaster is always the focus of the eye, and the reclaimed gym flooring makes the room so unique. A beautiful custom chevron tile floor, custom blue lower cabinets and walnut cabinets up top, AND a wine refrigerator and beer tap. Not quite sure what could make this kitchen any more perfect!

DIY Kitchen Splash project is fun and interesting. Client wanted to update their galley-style kitchen and chose to update with new countertops and backsplash. Furthermore, the choice of new granite with greys, blacks, and hints of green tones exquisitely marbled throughout the countertop is stunning. In addition, the client needed backsplash to enhance the colors in their granite. Working with a French Creek Kitchen Designer they found the right sample. Similarly, this glass and stone mix pulled together the tones from the granite and beautifully enhances their oak cabinets.
